I have only had this laptop for less then a week but I love it. It’s fast. Some bloatware but not terrible. Haven’t been able to test any high end games yet but some older games on had on steam run great on full. So far it’s been great.

Was looking at other gaming laptops but then was directed to this Dell G7. It has meet every expectation --- speed, capabilities, and especially the graphics. Very surprised but extremely happy with the decision to go with this machine.

The hardware you get on this laptop for the price you can't beat. It comes with a gtx 1060 max q. the computer spec page does say just gtx 1060 which is why I took a star from it and the blue backlight keyboard.

I got this computer primarily for school with gaming as a secondary purpose and haven't been disappointed. Many titles can run on fairly high stats! It is heavy though so be forewarned.

The laptop is priced at 1199.99 which is alittle pricier but not a mac person. So, the i7 processor is very powerful and this laptop makes a very powerful gaming laptop or programs requiring heavy graphics.

Gaming laptop are very expensive. This one is probably the best on for the price. Gtx 1060 is powerful enough to run high graphic games. The only thing that I don't like is the screen. But well, is a laptop.

Love the thunderbolt 3 and the GTX 1060. Great value for $999. 10.1K overall Firestrike score with a moderate OC on the GTX 1060. Very good result. I sadly did not get the AUO screen, I got the LG one thats not overclockable. But thats fine. Personally its a bit dim, it could be better but its a decent screen. The F9 key was loose when I initially opened the laptop and had to be pushed back into place, no big deal. Also, the touchpad feels looser than it should be. For those reasons I dock a star. fit and finish could have been better. Seems it was very rushed in the production phase. Better laptops do exist but its hard to beat at around $999.

I had an old high performance laptop and decided it was time for a new one. After some difficulty with another brand, I bought my Dell G17. The set up was simple and fast and I got going quickly with heavy duty Photoshop. Everything worked well, but I realized that the SSD at 128 GB was too small for what I was doing with the machine. In my case the SSD life span would have been fairly short. However, I liked the machine so much that I spent an additional $100 to purchase a 1 TB SSD. The Dell manual described exactly what type of SSD was required and how to install it using a bootable backup USB drive that Win 10 created for me.

Display and graphics top notch. More than adequate memory and SSD capability. Backlit keyboard is great at night (especially for video games). Unit is quiet and touchpad is user friendly.

Compact, powerful. Great for gaming, no lag, will probably upgrade SSD drive to one a bit bigger to give more flexibility. Not the lightest laptop we've had but does better operationally.

After a great deal of research, this was the best price to performance gaming laptop I could find in 2018. Add a 120hz screen and a SSD as upgrades, and it should perform for a long time.

I bought this as a on the go gaming rig when I'm away from my main gaming rig. It is a good operating machine for the price. I find the looks however a bit wanting for a gaming laptop. For me if I'm going to spend a $1000+ on a gaming laptop I want something with a bit more flash. Alas this was the best I could afford though. It has handled the oculus rift with star trek bridge crew without any issues. In conclusion if looks are not an issue or if budget is a issue this machine is a good choice. I would recommend as far as a 2-3 year gaming laptop. for true gaming though I still recommend building your own desktop tower rig. (If you don't have one)

The Dell G7 Laptop with six core Intel i7-8750H professor has amazing CPU performance with quiet, low frequency pitched fans that only run as needed and direct sound to the back of the screen. It’s so fast it’s hard to get all 12 logical cores running at 100% in the Windows Performance Monitor. The GTX 1060 Max-Q Card is very fast in both Blender with accelerated rendering using larger tile sizes, and in Minecraft with intensive shader modifications. While the FullHD screen is less glossy and bright than some laptops, it has not been bothersome. The keyboard is backlit in blue and feels very comfortable.

I finally decided to upgrade from a Lenovo Y50-70, and I was excepting to spend at least $1,600 for what I wanted: 16GB RAM, an 8th gen Intel CPU, and a GTX 1050i. To my surprise, I found all of that and an even better GPU for barely over $1,000 with this Dell G7. This is -THE- budget gaming laptop. Pros: -8th Gen Intel processor received a 93% benchmark for 3D gaming, and can handle any workload you would reasonably throw at it. -NVIDIA GTX 1060 Max Q is a great compromise. Great power for ultra and high settings, without creating the heat and weight of the regular 1060. -16GB Ram allows for large system caches and large amounts of processing. -Stays very, very cool. One of the best temperature regulating laptops with these specs I've used. -Sleek look, nice keyboard, great screen resolution. -THE PRICE. Cons: -The laptop is heavy. Even after sacrificing some elements of the GPU, it's much heavier than my previous gaming laptops. -Slight glare on screen. It's not too aggressive, but at the right angles in the right light, it can glare. -Fans are a little loud. Keeping the laptop cool is my priority, not keeping it quiet. However, I can see how these fans could be a slight con for some consumers. Overall, it's worth every penny, and I am enjoying it!
