I purchased this item online although one of my 2 local stores had one refurb in stock but at a higher price. I received the item safely packaged. Proceeded to launch it and it would try to boot but would not fully boot and it would constantly retry to boot. I would have to hard shut down and try again. Everything installed correctly and worked but for the following days the boot up issue would resume and the screen would have lines running through it when it would boot at times. My guess is a bad ribbon cable and power issues. I returned it and ordered another of the same model. The second one had no power or screen issue I was happy for 3 days. I didn't instal anything major but rather was just testing the computer if any issues came up. By the third day it was crashing with the blue screen and giving different error messages on each occassion. Then the system wouldn't boot up because of said errors and recommended system restore and system reset to factory settings. None of those options worked because files were missing from Windows. Nothing could be done so I returned it and haven't purchased another. The first had hardware issues and the second operating sofware issues. I loved the speed and performance power of this machine for the days I was able to use it. I am a filmaker and needed a powerful machine with great sound, battery life, and DVD drive. Loved it because it is an UltraBook with a DVD drive which is hard to find at these specs and isn't a Toshiba. I have never had this many issues with refurbished laptops or desktops before from other less known companies and small business. I don't trust the Geek Squad name, but I love shopping at Best Buy without they're assistance. I'm not giving it 1 star because I loved the laptop and it had everything I needed for the price but I can't stand Geek Squad and don't trust anything they put their hands on.

I adore this laptop. I would give it all 5 stars, but I have barely had it a month and I would like to see how it ages. It's hard to know all the issues in such a short time. I love that the touchscreen on this is not the selling point, because it is an amazing computer without it, rather it is a nice little bonus. The weight is not too bad, considering the size, but coming from using a net book and tablet, it is a real handful. Overall, I am very happy with it, but only time will tell me if it will stay this good.

I had searched for two weeks before stumbling across this ultrabook. There is not another laptop/ultrabook on the web for this price. You would easily spend a $1000 on any other laptop/ultrabook with the same features.

I thought the touchscreen was unnecessary but LOVE IT! The value and quality are awesome. Best Buy had the best price and Dell didn't even sell the 15z. The laptop boots very fast and touchscreen scrolls pages smoothly. I cannot say enough about how nice it is. Solving the blue screen after waking from sleep mode took days to solve because the reset process was found in YouTube video which was perfect solution. Battery has 1.5 hrs after a 2 hr DVD.

great deal on a touch screen laptop, I expected it to have lighter weight, but still its not too heavy, nice keyboard specially with lights off!!

A refurb bought with fingers crossed.Wow! Awesome!

My old laptop was getting old and slow so I found this refurbished Dell for $599.99 with a year warrantee from Bestbuy. It has an i7 microprocessor with 32gigs of cashed RAM which makes the startup and re-boots super fast. And 8 gigs of RAM is great for multi-tasking with lots of programs running and the 500 gig Hard Disk drive is plenty storage space, especially in this world of cloud storage. The DVD drive is also useful for playing old movies on my big screen TV via the HDMI output. I also love the touch screen and back lit keyboard. I can't say enough good things about this laptop for $599.00 with warrantee. If you price a similar featured laptop the price would be around $900.00 so the $599.00 price is a steal in my opinion.

I bought this computer thinking I was getting a good deal, but when it showed up I figured out that there was no wifi on the computer. I was able to plug into broadband and getting the internet running. I contacted geek squad over the internet and they tried there best to get it going, but they couldn't. I took it into my local store and they gave me a complete refund. I ended up buying an Asus Q105la and I absolutely love it. I guess I learned my lesson, DON'T BUY REFERBISHED!
