Then about a week later, I went to turn it on again and it gave me an error saying there was something wrong with the hard drive. I tested the hard drive to find out it was completely dead. I was so disappointed because I just got the laptop. I put in a 1 TB SSD for a replacement of the dead hard drive and I was impressed by how fast it booted up. I absolutely enjoy using this laptop!

She said honey I need a new computer! So I was on a quest. Ended up at best buy and found this 17 inch i7 laptop in my price range. Well it's been a month now and I must say if your not in a hurry at startup, this is the machine for you! It takes over three minutes before you can do anything. Have done all the up dates with no improvement. My dell desktop does this in 30 seconds. jjd

Thanks for your review and we're happy to hear that your wife is using a new Dell computer. We'd recommend limiting the number of programs that launch at startup in order to speed up the boot-up time on your wife's computer:
1. Close all open windows.
2. Press CTRL + Shift + ESC key together on the keyboard.
3. In the Task Manager window, click Startup tab.
4. Select the program or application that you want to disable from loading during startup.
5. Right-click and select Disable.
6. Repeat Step 4 & 5 for all the programs or applications that you want to disable from loading during startup.
7. Restart your PC.

Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The only issue I’m am having with the microphone is when I’m an a zoom conference and I lower the sound and then disconnects the microphone form the conference then I manually have to connect it and from there on it just keeps disconnecting me, I have tried the settings I even took it to the geek squad for trouble shoot and everything was fine connected for on the laptop, the only issue they agreed with me was for whatever reason it disconnects the mic from zoom. I have connected a separate mic to the laptop and it works fine, so somewhere along the lines zoom and the laptop are not talking to each other. FYI mic works fine on any other apps

I have issues when it starts up (when I turn it on). Most days it takes so long. But once I get it on and work on it, it’s smooth sailing.
