I really love the touch screen and the accessibility to programs. Very light and portable! Does not look like those cheap plastic laptops. This is the second laptop I ever purchase. My first laptop was a Dell Inspiron and after seven (yes, seven) years of service, it was time for a new one. Dell proved to be a very reliable and great quality brand. That is the reason I decided to purchase this Dell laptop.

This is my first laptop computer. I love it, I can take it anywhere and do everything I want from anywhere and able to work on the computer like a laptop or touch pad.

For the price, this is a very good buy. The touch screen is an awesome feature. I use this mainly for business, but it has some great personal benefits. It does great with playing movies.... if they are downloaded. Be aware this does not have a DVD/CD drive. I had to purchase one, but I rarely have to use it. It was super easy hooking up the laptop to my TV. The screen is very high gloss. So it could possibly have a glare issue. And yes, it is touch screen. So you will have finger prints everywhere. It doesn't bother me at all. The screen flips all the way around, but it is kind of a useless feature, it's too heavy and bulky to really be used as a tablet. The keypad is sensitive and takes a little getting used to. If you have a heavy hand or like resting your thumb on the keypad, it might be a little frustrating. One thing i don't like. Sometimes when you are on a website and you need to click on a drop down box it will not open correctly. If the curser doesn't work you have to use the touch screen or the other way around. All in all, there a couple things I would say are mildly annoying..... but over all I am very happy with this purchase. I used to not be a fan of Dell at all, but they have really turned around the product quality.

Good - Design, function in almost all areas, screen resolution, fast boot, heat vent location, keyboard (backlight and feet), fully recessed SD card slot. When it's hinged as a laptop, the screen does not wobble. Touching the screen does not make it move back and forth. In-between - The cover (nice feel, but a fingerprint magnet), speaker location (but no idea how to fix this), power and volume button location (should be at the back, and the volume should have raised spots for tactile feel). The bad - Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers lock on pages after there for a few minutes. This is weird because I can open other sessions with a locked browser, and they work fine (it's not page specific). Fan noise after constant use (the firmware upgrade helped). Some functions will only work optimally plugged in (not a big hit, but a bother), constant head seek noise from the mechanical hard drive (it's gone after installing a 256 SSD). Historically I am anything but a fan of the Dell product line. At my previous employer we used Dell everything, and overpaid for all of it. Granted, it was in a large manufacturing and office environment where machines were used in less than computer friendly environments, but all of the desktops had constant power supply issues. With this said the last good laptop I had, and my father now has is a Dell. I had three Lenovo Yoga's and each went back in the same 10 day period. Then I got an ASUS and it was back the next day. Having now put the Dell through it's paces (removed the only legit bloat ware, McAfee AV and Office trial versions), installed the common Active X, Apple Quicktime tools, as well as Libre Office, Serif productivity suite, GoPro Studio, Smart Draw, Dropbox, Dragon Assist, NTI Echo disk cloning software, and it runs very well. Notes - I instantly change the boot settings (bottom tool bar, right click, properties, navigation - then check "When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go to desktop instead of Start."). Doing this will boot your computer to the old desktop, and you can get to the Metro anytime by hitting the Windows key or clicking the Windows button on the tool bar. I am not finding a reason to use the tablet function yet, and that will probably come in most handy while traveling, that is after the 4" of useable space over the tray is collapsed from the person in front fully reclining (I do the same thing). Suggestion - get the next model up, even if budget is a consideration. The SSD drive has less storage, but with so many adopting Cloud (hosted services) for storage, you don't need a ton locally. It will also keep the heat down, and remove the constant whine of the head seeking from the mechanical hard drive.

I was a Mac owner and was looking to make the switch to PC. I was hoping to get something that had the Apple "build quality" or astetic. I also wanted it to have the features I wanted for the right price. This was the one I chose and I'm glad I did.

So far this laptop has been pleasant to use. It's light, fast, and seems to have all the latest stuff. My only complaint so far is that the touchpad is not as responsive as, for example, a MacBook Air. But it is still pretty good. If you are looking for a light laptop that has some good specs, this will do the trick.

Went into Best Buy to buy a new laptop but didn't want to spend over $400. The only options they had at that price point were as big as a suitcase and didn't suit me. Then I looked at the more expensive laptops and spotted this one. Wasn't expecting to spend $799 and found it cheaper afterwards, of course. It is a good unit, versatile, light, and quick. I'm not a geek and am unable to provide any techy info.

Absolutely love this 2 in 1! My Mac Book Pro met a death by milk. Waited about a year to replace. So glad I did. Now I can alter between working on desktop and reading industry periodicals on tablet. Perfect! And faster than my Dell from the corporate office. I did notice quite a bit of heat from the back side fan. Just try and keep note in case you like to have tablet on your lap when reading.

Pros: Light Powerful with Haswell core i7 Great battery life Nice touch integration with full screen flip mode Nice finish and feels solid Cons: Fan is very loud - firmware upgrade fixed this problem Allows only 8GB RAM, should allow 16GB minimum to match rest of the computer specs Should come with 512 GB SSD, which I landed up purchasing from Crucial and it really speeded up the system.

I like the whole convertible laptop concept. It's a laptop, it's a tablet, and things in between. Granted, even though it's pretty light for a laptop, it still weighs a lot more than an iPad Air, but then again, it can do a whole lot more. It's really fast with the i7 processor and 8 gigs of RAM. I use it to run my DAW music processing software and it breezes through multi track editing and mixdowns with ease. Same with Photoshop. The only cons I can possibly think of are the slower 5400 rpm hard drive, and not being able to add additional RAM. Took care of the former by installing the SSD drive I had in my old laptop. Not much you can do about the latter, but 8 gigs is pretty good anyway. Lack of a CD/DVD drive isn't big for me, since I rarely used the one on my old laptop...plus you can always buy an external unit if necessary. Bought the Microsoft widi adapter to connect this to my big screen tv...works great. All in all, a lot of computer for the money. It's a good deal at $799 (current sale price), but I found mine on open box special at the local BB for way less than that! I would highly recommend this little beast...unless you're into high end gaming, there isn't much you can throw at it that it won't be able to handle.

I love the speed and battery life (I can actually watch a couple of movies while still on battery.) and how fast it boots up. The wifi in it allows me to take advantage of the 5G connection on my router which is a nice treat. My only complaint is that Dell puts things like Fast Access Facial login that you can't get rid of.

We went to the store intending to purchase a different laptop, but saw this one on sale and bought it instead. Battery life is excellent. It is not as light as our other laptop, but still is not very heavy. The grippy surface is a nice feature with makes it feel moew secure when carrying it around. Processing speed and power is more than adequate for any everyday tasks we've used it for.

I have always had HP laptops going through school and my choice to purchase this Dell laptop turned outto be a great decision. The laptop starts up in seconds and opens up just about any program I choose even quicker. I don't really use the touch screen but after I purchased a stylus for it, I write all my notes on it. I highly suggest getting the stylus along with because it's almost as easy as writing on paper. Overall great computer and would highly recommend it.

Excellent pc. Been away from DELL for a while, and just needed a new one after losing my work PC. Knew I wanted a 2 in 1 vs a tablet with key board. For offering couldn't beat price, i7 processor and a terabyte hd. Would have liked solid state but no issues so far and with all best buy discounts and financing, will last for home and school for years to come.

The fifth-generation i7 on this machine is fast and efficient. I get 5-7 hours of battery life on a charge depending on exactly what I do with the machine. You can also take the back off and upgrade components. It was easy to migrate my data to a 250 gb ssd, remove the back and swap it with the hdd. This was still less expensive than buying a fourth generation i7 convertible with an ssd included (yoga or a surface pro 3). I am very happy with this machine and I expect it to last me several years.

After a long search and lots of due diligence research, I choose this Dell to replace my 10 year old Dell XPS Desktop. Could not be more happy, unless this was available with a solid state drive. For the price and the hardware you are buying you won't find a better machine with out sacrificing performance. Highly recommended!!

I bought tha laptop more than a month ago. It is as I expected, great touch screen, great Keyboard and material in general. I just hope windows 10 will be much better than the buggy windows 8 who is making me lean towards mac lately. The battery life is not that good, around 4 hours maximum. it can get a bit loud and it heats more than it should. The flip screen is cool but a bit heavy to hold up in your hands. A good touch screen laptop in general, these days a i7 8gb ram and 1T hard drive is hard to find with this price.

Laptop under $1k with all the bells and whistles...impressive. Love the responsive backlit keyboard and hinged cover. A couple of the apps for Windows 8 are problematic but working with the app designers for a fix. Battery holds much longer than I expected. Love this laptop more than chocolate.
