So Far, So Good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased my Dell Inspiron about a month ago. It works beautifully and is at least twice as fast as my previous HP (which had a worse processor, so not really a comparison). I love the back-lit keyboard and the way it types. Overall a great product. I'm very glad I chose it.

The 17" is great the storage and graphic and storage are great only draw back is no cd/dvd drive but they are cheap enough to add later.

Great "stationary" laptop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This 17" laptop might be too large to drag around, but it works perfectly as a kitchen media station. Playing music, watching video, and consulting recipes, while allowing the keyboard to be face-down (and protected) against a cutting board or countertop. Works for us!

Excellent Value
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needing to upgrade to a faster computer to meet the demands of Adobe products, the Dell offered to most features for the cost. And it's a 17 inch that I compared to many 15 inch models. Access ports is a big requirement that this computer meets my needs.

Best laptop for the $
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did buy this exact computer as a Christmas present for my son last month. Was looking for a computer for myself few days ago, completely forgot about the model I bought. Came across this model and bought it again. Has all features I like for a greay price.

Never again
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Where to start? First of all, I purchased this laptop in order to work from home after I had back surgery. When I first purchased the laptop, I set it up with no issues, and then it sat for about 15 days while I prepared for surgery and recovered for a week. On April 10th, the laptop wont connect to WIFI and tells me "The intel wireless AC Adapter is experiencing driver or hardware related problems." So I googled it, but couldn't figure out what the problem was. Then I called Geek Squad at the Puyallup, WA location. I was told to bring it in as it needed to be replaced. I then went to the store and waited as the IT tech worked on the computer. After 20 minutes, after attempting to install updates and drivers, it still would not work. He swapped out the computer for a new one and I asked him to help me set it up. Afterwards, I leave and do some work from home for a few hours, Then I notice its almost dead on 3 %. I check different outlets to no avail. I called back Geek Squad and spoke to the same tech who helped me earlier. He said "Sometimes there's lemons," The laptop dies. I bring it back to best buy to geek squad and the same tech checks the adapter. He said he didn't think to check it earlier because it was brand new out of the box. This is my second time coming back to the store post-surgery. I was handed the charger I brought in earlier. I asked to speak to a manager and the IT tech said "hes just going to tell you the same thing I am." Excuse me? He said 'theyre all busy right now." Again, that's not what I asked. At this point I'm angry. The manager comes out and takes care of the situation and resolves the matter. Then I go home to plug the dead computer in and i will not move off the Dell screen. I wait and wait, restart it multiple times, and call Geek squad back. The same IT tech answers and tells me "we close in 5 minutes." So I have to race back up there. The manager attempts to fix the computer and cannot. At this point its after close and he tells me he will match the price for a comparable computer. I looks around, and he shows me a few models. Obviously I'm not choosing Dell (mind you I have only bought Dells since 2006) and he explains the Lenovo he wouldn't be able to match the price on. There were no other comparable options, and I ended up having to pay $400+ out of pocket for the difference because "it wouldn't let him do any better" for going back and forth to Best buy while being out of a computer. I filed a complaint this morning. I want to know why Dell is producing these laptops and shipping them into Best Buy. As one consumer, I should not have received 2 $1000 laptops and not been able to use them. I want a response from Dell, from BestBuy, and I want a refund for the $400+. This has only taken time away from my work and put myself at risk for another operation. Dell? BestBuy? I want a response as a consumer. NOBODY should have to go through what I went through.

Reliable, varied speeds which may be internet.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well and is all I expected from the laptop. The speed is reasonable most of the time but I attribute this to my Spectrum provider.

Not up to date
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.`This is a powerful laptop with 1TB disk, i7 processor, and 16G RAM, but when I tried to hook it up to my internet service, I discovered it had no RJ45 port so either had to run on wifi only or use a USB-to-RJ45 adapter (I used Insignia's adapter, because it's 1G capable). My local router is able to deliver up to 1G on wifi, as well and all the other computers I have and my tablets and cell phones are ab le to use either the wifi or wired connection to my router and get several hundred MB bandwidth on wifi, but this new Dell would not go above or even up to 10MB down and only 8MB upload speed. After working with BestBuy geek squad, and updating windows and running a Dell factory update (actually several of both), it finally started working at the speeds desired and expected, but it should have done that out of the box.

Great Screen & Much Improved Keyboard
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great screen and much improved keyboard, however I have had this laptop within the first month just shut down on me and I've gotten the blue screen of death 2x since my purchase in May. It has recovered from all three unintended shutdowns without issue. I also like the beefier hinges eventhough they are quite stiff they have good control. For a 17" display the laptop itself is relatively light weight and portable.

Posted .Hello TTSF,
Thanks for your feedback on your new laptop. If you'd like to diagnose your Blue Screen Error messages you can follow these steps:
1. At the desktop, click the Search the web and Windows box and type "problem reports".
2. Select View all problem reports to view a list of errors that have occurred on your computer and possible solutions for them, such as updating drivers, flashing your system BIOS, or checking for updates to the software.
3. Under the Source column, look for Windows and under Summary, look for Shut down unexpectedly.
4. Right-click the line item and select Check for a solution.
We'd also suggest checking to make sure that your software and drivers are up to date on Dell's Product Page - https://dell.to/2rZ7Zlo.
You can read the full article here - http://dell.to/2u98Cct.
We hope that your computer will work better for you soon!
Best,
Bryan

Great computer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great computer. The only drawback is that there is no DVD/CD player but that’s not a problem. I love the big 17” screen! It’s great for watching Netflix! It also has fingerprint sign on technology which is totally cool!

Boy, Not disappointed this time!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow - this is great system, a business desktop in your lap. the screen is huge, the finger printer reader so responsive, the touch screen a whole order of magnitude forward. With the backlit keyboard this is everything I could want.

DYNAMIC DELL
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this open box and took it back to get the Geek Squad checked out (all good). Great Deal
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had it for almost a month. I got it because I needed a laptop that can handle Autocad. It does the Job beautifully. I love the design and the big screen is perfect. I am able to do my work smoothly with no trouble.

So Far, It's GREAT!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The screen resolution and brightness on this laptop are the best I've ever seen. That was evident right out of the box. I love the 2-in-1 modes, even though I never thought I'd use the computer as a notebook. But I do, a lot! The same can be said for the touchscreen. I thought it would be a feature I wouldn't use, but I do! Not only do I use it in notebook mode, but also in laptop mode, even with a wireless keyboard in front of me. This is my first Dell product. Compared to what I've owned before, I must say Dell does a much better job with support and updates. And, truth be told, this computer did not come with bloatware (teasers and trial periods for dozens and dozens of games and applications).
