Having upgraded from a pc that was 10 years old and on it's last legs, so far I'm delighted with the Dell. Its SO quiet you forget it's on and super fast. I'm working with large quantities of high res images and it handles them no problem. Very happy!

Overall, this a good machine. However, the peripherals are on the low end. I"ll be ditching the mouse & keyboard soon. I'm a little underwhelmed by the amount of ram & SSD storage for the price point. If I hadn't been needing a new system soon, I would've waited & shopped for a better price or better storage. Pros: It's a Dell, so mostly dependable Cons: Storage & ram for the $$$

Compared to my previous 12-year old computer, this one is much smaller and much lighter in weight. Living in my particular area, I don't have FIOS and sometimes have issues with the speed. But it has nothing to do with the computer itself.

I set it up, connected it to my monitor, and was quickly able to begin using it for work. The i7 CPU is quick and the 512GB SSD works as it should. Very clean design, perfect for my use.

    Dell and Geek Squad Review

I really do not know how many starts to give this product. Because it is a Dell I would give it 5 stars. However, Geek Squad was unable to set up my email in Outlook like the one on my older CPU (also a DELL). I am going to call for a Geek Squad "home visit" to see if my existing email can be set up on my new Dell so I can have all my emails from my email server. Right now I am using both computers. This one for email and that is where I found your survey. I am a Total Tech member and I like Geek Squad when they can accomplish what I requested. Before i even bought the new Dell, I asked a Geek Squad team member if my email could be transferred to my new Dell and she said yes.

The tower is much more compact than in past models. The setup only took a matter of a few minutes and the response time on the screen to commands is quite quick. I have bought Dell computers for over 30 years and will continue to do so.

The first inspiron that I purchased worked for 3 hours then turned itself off and would not turn back on. Best Buy replace immediately without hesitation. Now to this computer. I was adament that I needed a disc drive, sales person pointed me to the slot on the computer where it should be. (Where it looks like it is) To my disappointment when I got home there is no disc drive. This is something that I NEED to have. Now I have to go back to Best Buy for a third time to have a disc drive installed. Very disappointed, Otherwise computer does work great.

      Hello txcarmenk,

We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding. As stated within the technical specifications of the product, an optical drive is NOT built into this particular configuration. If you are enjoying the product otherwise, you can easily enable the functionality by connecting an external drive such as the Dell DW316.

If you have any other questions, you are more than welcome to contact Dell Support for further assistance.

      Best Regards,
      Anthony P.

    1. why no cd/dvd access. I have a lot of photos and content now unavailable to me. This was not pointed out to me by sales rep during his 'pitch'. I had to ask after decision and beginning of closing. Sales rep at store did an exceptional job of educating me early on with patience and knowledge. Well done. I'll ask for him next time.

Needed to replace a gaming PC on a budget, this has held up really well, though integrated graphics hold it back. Someday I'll upgrade but until then I just play game on medium and it works fine.

When sold was told that it had an internal CD/DVD drive, left it with Geek Squad to transfer files, and when brought it home found there was no internal drive and that although my older Dell with a smaller hard drive worked fine with the photos and other files that were transferred over to this new computer, I immediately got a message that my hard drive was almost full. I won't go into detail with my conversations with Best Buy (which was on some sort of national platform because I could not call my local Best Buy) other than to say the rep said I could get a drive installed, went back to my local Best Buy and Geek Squad insisted they could not do that, explaining that they did not have a drive small enough to install in the obvious spot. The store mgr made it as good as possible by providing a free external drive, so I give this the average rating. Unclear whether it is the computer or my local Best Buy

I usually buy hp because I've always seemed to have issues with Dell computers (I think it's just my luck-haha). Set up was very easy but when I tried to copy over my documents, I had some crazy issue with it. My computer tech wasn't even sure what was up. I do thinkg this was more of a Microsoft issue than the computer, though.

I saved myself a LOT of money by getting this from Best Buy versus Dell directly. The Geek squad was awesome in advising me. Also got a separate disc drive which was no big deal to hook up. Fast, easy to get started.

So far so good, I hope it last longer than the One year (warranty given) I bought a HP laptop it lasted one year and 17 days before the memory card failed over $400 to repair. To soon to tell with the Dell.

Works well so far. First new pc in about 6 years. Love the Bluetooth and much faster than my old one. Did not use the keyboard or mouse that came with it and seems like a bit of a waste to include it in the purchase.
