I'm a MAC user and an iPad user, so take this with a grain of salt if you're a regular PC user. The laptop is fast and lightweight (compared to others I've used) but it is BIG. I'm not normally a fan of laptops with a dedicated number pad, but the added keyboard space does allow for a larger display. So if you're looking for a large format laptop, this is a great choice. The tablet features and the pencil are a bit clunky to me but, again, I'm used to my iPad so the transition is a bit difficult. The touchscreen in conjunction with the pencil and digital keyboard (tablet mode) are difficult to use seamlessly to me. The touchscreen used in conjunction with the keyboard (laptop mode) is a nice combination of user interface options when using multiple applications. I use it to control a digital audio mixer and music inputs while scrolling .pdf documents of sheet music - the combination of traditional keyboard and touchscreen are great for this.

Great laptop for the price. Only had this computer for a few days, but here's what stands out so far: PROS 1). Images can be clearly seen at almost any angle. 2). Easy to use in general, especially switching apps. 3). Very FAST ! 4). Its thin and light weight, although certainly not the thinnest or lightest. 5). Feels well built. 6). And the lighted keyboard is a major plus. CONS 1). The cooling fan is annoyingly way too loud ! 2). Battery life is only average at best. 3). Fit & finish is below standard for Dell. 4). Its speakers aren't good enough. 5). Display is a little too dark for me personally. 6). A few times while gaming it froze for approx 10 to 20 seconds.

Very happy with this Dell 2 in 1!

I'm very happy with this new Dell 7590 2 in 1. I am moving from a Dell laptop that is a few years old and it is such an upgrade! My old laptop is a 17" while this new one is a 15", but the 17" had a pretty wide border around the screen, while this new 2 in 1 has a screen that goes all the way to each edge, so it really doesn't look much smaller than my 17" screen. These 2 in 1 laptops are so much lighter and thinner than the old standard laptops. While I have seen a few 2 in 1's that are even lighter and thinner than this Dell unit. I thought those seemed a little more flimsy, whereas this unit seems and feels very sturdy and well-made. Some of the other things I like about it are: The 2 in 1 allows a lot of different ways to set up and use the screen, depending on where you are using it. I will likely use the tent option for watching movies. It comes with a smart pen stylus and a nice feature is it has a magnetic storage slot right on the laptop so you won't lose it. I've played around with the stylus a little and it is pretty cool. Looking forward to finding more applications to use it with. It has a fingerprint option on the power button for security and fast access without a password. The Bluetooth, HDMI port and multiple USB ports are good options. The touchscreen option is great. This will be a feature I will use a lot. The picture quality on the screen is incredible! I like the backlit keyboard as my last laptop did not have that feature and it was tough to see it. I'm a pretty casual user, so the battery life is holding up very well for me. That may be different for gamers. Of course, one of the things I am most excited about is the fact this thing is smokin' fast compared to any other PC's I have used at home or work! The things I would change, if possible, are: I wish it had a DVD/CD drive. I don't think I have seen any 2 in 1's with this feature, but I am going to need to buy a small external unit to connect for DVD/CD's. I also wish it had a little more storage. It has 512 GB, but I have a ton of pictures, video, music and movie files and by the time I transferred them all, I am already close to filling it. I will likely have to get an external hard drive to transfer some things to or clean some files out and store them in a cloud service. This likely won't be a problem for most people, unless you keep a lot of media on your laptop. I also wish it had a full size SD card slot. It has a micro-SD slot, but I don't have any devices that use the micro-SD, whereas my cameras use an SD card. I will likely purchase a small card reader to attach for this. One other minor thing, I wish it had come with more of an instruction booklet for setting up. It has a small little piece of paper with a few pictures. I pulled up the actual manual online, which is not a big deal, but I'm a bit old-school and would like to see a manual included. Overall, the things I mentioned I would change are all things I knew before choosing this laptop. They weren't deal breakers for me, as the pro's and benefits of this unit are significant enough to overlook the few minor things I mentioned. I am very happy with this new laptop overall and I'm sure it will more than meet my needs for the next few years!

I was very satisfied for the first 19 days, but on day 20 the hard drive crashed. I contacted Dell and they sent me a box with prepaid shipping. They said if it’s a hardware issue they will replace it at no charge. I noted below that I would not recommend this to a friend, however I’m hoping to be able to change that. I’ll post again when I find out what Dell is going to do. Praying for the best!

This was one of the best purchases I’ve made. The ability to fold in tablet mode for training one on one as well as casting to a bigger screen for a bigger meeting room. This laptop is fast with no issues. Although I don’t use the pen often, the magnetic groove it sits in has saved many pens and keys from dropping to the floor… lol. I recommend this laptop to anyone looking for an aggressive and fast laptop while still sleek without taking up space.

My Dell INSPIRON 15 7590 solid state hard drive crashed after only two months. The part/Labor to replace was warranted by Dell/maybe Labor by my Best Buy Total Tech Support (not sure) but now I have to recreate the files I created/modified over past two months. I guess I (and you) should back up the data after any file mods. I don’t know if it’s a Dell SSHD thing or model thing.

I’m pretty confident this is the fastest computer I’ve ever used. I had just bought a dell, similar model last year, which I would also give 5 stars, but this one just seemed like it is so much faster and more compact even though the same size screen. I take it with me on photo shoots so size and portability was important. The touch screen with 4K resolution is great, the screen runs closer to the edge, comes with pen to use with it which comes in handy editing photos. AND even better, when you fold it in half because it’s 2 in 1 it’s now tablet size and really easy to edit on, watch YouTube, or other video streaming. Another upgrade is the fingerprint scanner to turn on. Not that I can’t remember a password, but why type a password when I can just stick my finger on the scanner? And it starts up so fast! I do recommend an external hard drive if saving lots of files. Overall, great price, great screen, great features, highly recommend!

    Powerful, feature-packed laptop

The Dell Inspiron 7590 2-in-1 laptop offers a large display, full-sized keyboard and number pad in a lightweight package. It has an Ultra HD (4k) screen, lots of RAM and a large solid state drive, which makes it great for watching movies or creating graphics, illustrations and animations. Like any Windows PC, The Dell Inspiron 7590 2-in-1 laptop takes several hours or days to configure it just the way you want it. You need to sign in to your Microsoft account (or create an account) to get the most out of the machine, especially if you want to save settings and preferences across several devices. Windows 10 allows you to pair the laptop with an Android or IOS smartphone for notifications, etc. I put the Inspiron through the paces with typical office software and with Adobe Creative Cloud graphic design software. I installed MS Office desktop software and several Adobe CC desktop software apps, as well as the Chrome browser a Password Manager, and a few fonts—pretty bare bones for me! The biggest hiccup was trying to use the provided Dell Active Pen with Adobe Illustrator. It was easier to use my finger on the touchscreen than to use the Active Pen. I am surprised that Dell’s low-end pen was included with such a powerful, high-end laptop. Most likely, I will use my Wacom drawing tablet with the laptop for Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other design apps. The display is responsive and the touchscreen works well. The screen resolution is excellent, and the colors are vivid. You can adjust the screen brightness to your liking, and change the color temperature to warmer hues for nighttime work. The physical keyboard offers a full-sized layout, a numeric keypad and a large trackpad. It has a nice feel and the backlighting is handy for low-light situations. The on-screen (touch) keyboard is a nice size for typing when in tablet mode. You can set it to make sounds when you type. Mac IOS users may find the touch keyboard layout takes a couple of days to get used to. The Inspiron 7590 2-in-1 easily found my WiFi networks and wireless printers and prompted me to install HP software as needed. I could quickly check my printer status. Pros: - Nearly 16-inch, UHD display is competitive with Mac “Retina” displays, vivid and bright - Cinema sound - 16 Gb RAM and 512 Gb SSD - USB Type C port to connect and/or charge compatible peripherals - HDMI port for external monitors and projectors - One headphone jack for input/ output devices like headphones and microphones - Two USB 3.0 ports for other peripherals - One SD card slot for digital camera memory cards - Windows 10 Home Edition included, should meet most users’ needs; upgradable to Pro edition at extra cost - Touch screen can be used in a standard laptop configuration, folded for use as a tablet, or folded in a tent configuration for presentations - Dell Active Pen included for writing or drawing - Sleek black design, lightweight Cons: - Windows operating system is slow and touchy - No productivity or office software included - Gamers may need additional HDMI or other ports - Dell Active Pen bundled with the laptop lacks software drivers and cannot “pair” with the laptop, so it is of little use - The cooling fan runs often

Was super excited for this purchase as I needed a new laptop for school. On the first day of using it, noticed some bugs and lagging with the PC. Setup was easy and almost fun if you can believe that. I was almost able to do the entire setup via Cortana with voice instructions. There were just a couple of items I actually had to go to the mouse and keyboard to manually enter something in. After setting up I was also super impressed with the speed and accuracy of the Windows Hello fingerprint sign-in. It did take a few moments to figure out when Windows was asking to setup that the scanner was in fact on the unlabeled power button key. Hardware: * I7 8565U CPU is awesome. Very fast and powerful. Love that it also has 16GB of DDR4 RAM. Many laptops only come with 8GB. Plenty of memory to run any game out there or demanding apps like Photoshop. * NVIDIA MX250 with 2GB graphics is pretty powerful by laptop standards. * 15" 4K display is stunning with very good colors and response. * The laptop runs pretty cool and I never noticed it getting overly warm, however, the fan does get a little loud when the CPU/GPU is running high. * Great that it has an SSD for primary storage which helps make it really fast. It has 512GB which is probably adequate for normal use but a little light if you like to store a lot of media. Of that amount 16GB is used by recover and system partitions which are not accessible. After setup there was 460GB usable space on the C: drive with 426GB free. * Media card reader is nice but is only micro SD. * Trackpad is large and works very well even though I'm not a huge fan of trackpads. * Backlit keyboard is also very nice. Very happy that it is a full keyboard with number pad. Key spacing, placement and feel are pretty good by laptop standards * 2 USB ports on the left side. There is also a mini display port, HDMI and 3.5mm headphone jack. * Did not really get a chance to thoroughly test out the battery but in moderate use it seemed to hold up pretty well. Software: * There is some pre-installed bloatware but nothing that you can't get rid of if you don't want which will free up some disk space. * Several games (2 Candy Crush, and MS Solitaire) installed. Plus some install tiles for a few others on start screen. * MS Office is preinstalled so if you have a license or subscribe to 365 it is a simple activation. * Mcafee, meh not a huge fan but it comes installed with a 30 day trial * Dell utilities - The auto updater was a bit disappointing. I guess it does it's job fine but there is very little feedback to know what, when, or how it is updating. I did like the power manager app which had a ton of options for managing power, battery use and consumption. * SmartByte - neat little network gauge where you can supposedly give priority to different apps but I had no way to verify that it was really improving things Pen: * Easy to use and responsive. Tried with Paint programs and it worked very well. A really cool feature is that the laptop has a built in magnetic holder built into the housing between the keyboard and screen. Documentation: * Pretty sparse as they expect you to use the help app on the computer. I found that to be sometimes useful and other times not so much where I would end up just doing an internet search on my own in the browser. Overall a great laptop, solid design and construction.

I've had laptops (including Dell laptops) before, so I'm pretty familiar with their features. This one has a lot of great features in one fairly small package. First of all, I like that it has a backlit keyboard, which is very handy if you're using the computer in a dark or poorly-lit room. It also has a touchscreen, so you can skip using the touchpad for some things and just touch on the screen like you would with a tablet or phone. Speaking of tablets, this laptop display will fold completely back onto the keyboard, so you can basically just have a tablet. You can't remove the keyboard, but it all fits together quite well. The laptop also comes with a stylus, which you can use to write directly on the screen, with virtual post-its and other apps. Great if you like to draw (or have kids who like to draw) and you can send the writings/drawings on to friends/family. Another way to replace greeting cards but still keep it personal. The laptop starts up very quickly, probably because of the SSD drive and lots of memory. The battery lasts quite a while, though because it's a small computer, they can't put as big a battery in it as some people would like. There's always a trade-off. It has a webcam, micro-SD slot, HDMI port and three USB 3.1 ports. I always like to get a laptop with HDMI, that way when we travel we can usually just plug our laptop into hotel TV's to watch TV shows and movies we have stored on the laptop. The power button also doubles as a fingerprint scanner, for added security. It's not something I would use, but it's a good feature if you're worried about people accessing your computer. All in all, a great laptop.

The Dell Inspiron 15.6" 7000 2-in-1 is a good option for users who need a powerful and portable laptop for productivity tasks, light gaming, and creative work. Here's a breakdown of its key features to help you decide: * Pros: Powerful Intel Core i7 processor, 16GB of RAM for multitasking, 4K UHD touchscreen for stunning visuals, 512GB SSD for fast storage, Optane memory for additional storage speed boost. * Cons: GeForce MX250 graphics card is not ideal for demanding gaming, convertible design can be heavier than traditional laptops. Consider your needs and priorities. If you need a laptop for everyday tasks, photo editing, or casual gaming, the Inspiron 7000 2-in-1 is a good choice. If you need a machine for heavy-duty gaming or video editing, you might want to consider a laptop with a more powerful graphics card.

Great Specs in a Sleek, Solid Laptop

Dell has a history of making well-built, solid, reliable computers and the Dell Inspiron 15.6” 4K Ultra HD Touch-Screen is no exception. It might be the best laptop I’ve owned out of numerous over the past 25 years. With its sleek, streamlined design, this laptop has all the features - and more - than one would need to be productive in school, small business, an organization, etc. Designed as a convertible 2 in 1, the laptop can also act as a tablet. With its touch screen and included pencil, possibilities are unlimited. The Touchscreen Widescreen LCD works with the pencil providing the ability to do mark ups or handwritten notes, etc. right on the screen. No need to worry about losing the pencil or leaving it behind, because the laptop has been designed with a magnetic slot which secures and holds the pencil perfectly in place. Built on an ultra-low-voltage platform, the 8th generation Intel Core i7-8565U processor enables the computer to boot up quickly. The computer has 16 GB of system memory and a 512 GB Solid State Drive (SSD) with a hard drive accelerator. The NVIDID GeForce MX250 Graphics Card has 2 GB GDDR5 of dedicated Video memory. With this graphics card and the ability of the laptop to connect to an HDTV or high-definition monitor, the laptop can render high quality images for photos, videos and games. Connectivity to hotspots and networks occurred quickly. This quick connectivity is because the computer is designed to connect to all current Wi-Fi standards. The laptop can connect to the internet either through ethernet of Wi-Fi, but the computer does not have mobile broadband. The backlit keyboard is a plus for typing in darker places, i.e., airplane, nighttime, etc. Connectivity for computer peripherals include two (2) 3.0 Type A USB ports, a headphone/microphone combo jack, one (1) HDMI output. There is also a built-in webcam with speaker and microphone. The architecture of the operating system is built on 64-bit with two (2) memory slots. The computer also does not have a DVD/CD drive, but I have an external drive that works perfectly for the very few times that I need it anymore. This is a very nice computer and with Microsoft suite, one has the ability for complete productivity. I highly recommend this laptop.
