Only complaint I had is that the Quick Setup Guide is not detailed enough, we out to the actual manual to set up the new computer and that was very easy. Would recommend the computer for speed, graphics, and included software. Good choice for someone needing an all in one computer that is also efficient as a gaming platform.

graphics card was pretty terrible, far more so than similar dell desktop systems I've bought in the past - these aren't marketed as gaming rigs in the first place, but my previous dell purchase 5 years ago came with a card that could handle all but the most demanding games at the time out of the box, while this one struggled and barely out-performed that 5yo system on some games! I hopped on newegg and found a cheap, refurbished evga brand nvidia geforce gtx 970 for around $200, which I had no trouble installing, but unless you do AAA gaming, the built-in gfx card would be fine for general desktop apps and most web-based apps/games.

I really appreciated the ease of setup. Very fast processor too. Handles all my Microsoft Office apps extremely well, as well as many others. Starts and shuts down quickly too. The XPS 8900 has helped me improve productivity so much that I can take more time off to go to the Minnesota State Fair! Love it! Sully

This computer was just what I wanted. Everything works as it should. I had an Nvidia GTX 970 that wasn't being used and it fit. However, the graphic card that came with the computer was pretty good. I recommend this computer to anyone who is in the market for one in this category. Well worth the money.

I purchased this computer after my Asus died with only two years on it. I have had Dell's before and generally was pretty satisfied with them. This one was supposed to be a really great machine, but so far I'm not impressed. Two weeks ago the machine stopped saying it had a video card issue that it had resolved, but I ended up having to restart because it was not resolved. The screen turned into a multi-colored checker board. This on a brand new computer? Three days ago it stopped running while I was using it, made a strange growling noise (yes it did) the screen filled with small squares again, and it restarted itself. When it restarted it went through several updates. When I activate Chrome, it pauses and I have to click ok to allow Webroot to run. Sometimes it pauses quite a while during that process. Today the mouse would move horizontally, but vertically. After restarting, the problem came back once. Not sure what was up with that. I suppose I'll have to find time to connect with geek squad to figure out what these problems are on a month old machine. For the price, I would not expect to be having these problems after only a month.

I needed a new computer and I wanted something that was faster than what I had but didnt wish to break the bank and this turned out great for me! I use it for business as well as personal and it does well with both. I wish it was a little more compact but other than that I havent had any concerns so far.

I wanted a desktop rather than a laptop for a lot of routine work and storage, but not for gaming purposes. Dell machines have served me well in the past, and this new one looks to be equally as trustworthy. And it came at a very good price for the quality.

I use Lightroom and Photoshop to process my images from my camera. These are memory hungry images and demand a high powered machine that will not bog down under heavy processing. With added memory this computer hums along I pring 1s of images.

My previous box was old and needed help. This one is a great machine and capable of handling all our home, school, small business needs. I installed a second CD drive and a second hard drive. Also purchased the geek squad protection.

I never had a really good gaming computer before. My Dell is so fast and the graphics are super. Now when I play games, I can really see what's going on, instead of guessing.

This review is based solely off my needs. It is powerful and fast, and it can handle any program I need it to run. It is not loud. I love it and cannot stay away from my PC. Side note: I do not recommend this tower for gaming.

XPS is the office computer of choice. Its faster then the OptiPlex with the added graphics card for better speeds in windows, video playback, pic editing, and biz applications. just add a ssd drive to make it blazing fast.

    Dell computer performs as expected

I replaced an older Dell computer with this one as a matter of upgrading to the requirements of Windows 10. Having used it for a month I can say that I've had no problems with the computer per se, just a slow learning curve picking up the differences in operation of Windows 10 from the Windows XP that I left behind. I bought this particular model for the processor that was represented as lasting at least seven years on the market before becoming obsolete vs a similar but less expensive Dell whose processor was represented as having only a 3-year market life. Boot-up time of a minute or two is considerably faster than for my XP-enabled computer. I have not tried to enable many of the filing and gaming features available on this computer via W10 and inasmuch as I'm not likely to in the future I would not be able to comment on the versatility of such features with this computer.

As is typical from Dell, this XPS 8900 was easy to turn on and setup. I had it in, actually running, my home network in less than an hour. AND: I don't have s single complaint after a few months use now! Windows 10 took a short "on-the-job-training" to get used to; I particularly like the thus far perfect "sleep" function; while I didn't care for the necessity of "purge" after "delete" Microsoft email strategy in Windows 10, ultimately it IS a step that prevents inadvertent email discards. So, now I'm on the SAME road that I've been on several times before with my new Dell computer - here's hoping that the XPS 8900 will be humming like new a few years from now and that I don't have to do yet another Dell redux after a few years! I am (for the most part) pleased with this PC. My only "issue" is that I have 2 users on this PC (my wife and I). When I switch back and forth between users, the machine goes black and it takes almost 2 minutes for the other users screen to come up.
