Wow. I freaking love this. The price tag seems prohibitive at first but once you use it, you’ll never go out for coffee again. I’m truly hooked. Everything is easy to use and understand. Be patient your first few tries pulling espresso. Practice and waste a few pulls to get comfortable- the guide that’s given isn’t very good as far as grind coarseness and dose level- use the guide for temp controls for sure. The pictures are what you need to look at- color and speed. I use the filtered water from my fridge to fill the basin- in my experience- if you have hard water- you absolutely want to use filtered water to reduce the amount of descalings you do. A++++++ product.

I did a ton of research on a lot of machines. I kept coming back to this one. What I did not see though were the MANY negative review regarding the air pump. I had purchased this as a Christmas gift for myself that was also supposed to double as our Christmas Eve party coffee maker for all of my family members. Upon opening I was very excited, it has a sleek design and it perfect for ease and user functionality.. or so I thought. HOURS. We spent hours of time trying to get this to work. Our first issue was us not being able to flush the system. Which this issue was NEVER addressed as a warning within the manual. After many YouTube videos and some creative wording we found it. It like many other of these machines has an air pump issue. The correct verbiage is “air lock” we tried everything and nothing works. Unfortunately all of the techs were closed for the Holidays so we have a $800 machine sitting as a massive decor item yet useless. We also had issues with the grinder working although it might have just also been due to us never being able to flush the system because it appears once you do that the other functions work or are supposed to. Needless to say I am ANNOYED. I will wait until Monday and be optimistic but I already have a Terra Kaffee automatic espresso maker in my cart on standby for when I dissapointingly might have to return this machine.

Easy to use. Provides a perfect cup of coffee every time. The hopper is convenient as it holds the beans instead of having to continuously refill it. The water temperature for a hot cup of coffee is spot on. It’s saves time to have this all in one machine.

Gotta say I really love De'Longhi espresso makers! I got their Dedica Espresso Machine and I loved the built and the machine's consistency on the pour, but I didn't ever invest in a quality grinder so I was mostly using espresso pods. I was eyeing machines and knew I wanted something with a dual heating element, off of a suggestion from a coworker, but wasn't quite sure which I wanted to get. The built in grinder was definitely one of the things that made me go with this machine, it was one less thing for me to pick up, plus the built in tamping was a bonus. It's nice that the portafilter has the swappable inserts for the two different amounts of grounds, you can select the amount you want to brew and grind accordingly. The machine is pretty simple to use also, select x2 if brewing double, lock the portafilter into the grinder, wait for the grind to finish and tamp it down (I did leave the little "remove before use sticker" on the underside of the tamper that shows the pull distance for ideal force). Lock the portafilter on the right side to brew, make sure you got it set to your preferred brew (Espresso, Americano, Coffee) and press the OK button to start the pour! I have used the steaming wand once to test it out, but it's still really hot where I live so I stick to iced lattes. I do appreciate the frothing jug, look forward to using/ learning the steaming process. Got a buddy who knows some latte art so I will likely hit him up for pointers! Overall though I am really happy with this machine and looking forward to getting better at the latte arts. This is a great machine for me, plus being a single unit that is well designed and high quality, it's got it's space on the counter without any comments from the wife. :-) I would highly recommend this machine to anyone that is looking, It's simple enough that I feel more comfortable making my drinks, with a much better port without pods. Plus with a machine like this, I have cut back more on my coffee pit stops while heading to work.

    - Delonghi La Specialista Prestigio is such a beautiful machine, it’s a mid rage coffee machine and it’s a user friendly machine that is easy to use and clean. Prestigio is not a light machine, it’s beautiful design with stainless body and a little bit of plastic from the back and the bottom tray. - Prestigio also comes with built in coffee grinder, it felt very intimidating to me the first I finally opened the box, since my previews latte machine didn’t have its own grinder and I didn’t have this much button to understand in front of me, but after all the buttons are fairly simple and straight forward - from the front of the machine you have the power button on the top left, but keep in mind to make sure you turned on the switch behind the machine - button left you have your dose level for your coffee grind, this can be adjusted to the type of brew you want, from light roast , medium roast, medium dark and dark roast. i’m more of a light roast kind of guy so my gauge will stay around the minimum area - moving to the next section is the x2 button for double shot of espresso, and beside that is the temperature button, on of the most useful setting in Prestigio is the temperature button. this could effect the type of coffee you would to brew, keep it on its right temperature could improve your coffee tasting pleasure. - light roast will need 3 light temperature bar, medium roast and medium dark will be 2 light temperature, while dark roast will require 1 light bar temperature. - you have an OK button which it’s your “start” button to start brewing. you will also have a dedicated button for hot water and buttons for the type of brewing you would like to make, from espresso to americano and coffee settings - comes with single wall basket holds 12g, and double basket that should 20g of coffee - when it comes to grinding the coffee the machine will automatically start once you have the portafilter on the lock position, it will grind on which setting you have it set. - the machine also include its own tamping station, this is such an amazing that benefits coffee lover, you wouldn’t have to press the espresso manually and have that chance on causing coffee grinds to be spilled, less mess and helps for a better cleaner coffee area to work with. now it’s part of the machine, just makes things a lot easier at that point - at the bottom when it’s time to brew, the machine also come with its espresso tray - if you’re new to making espresso there’s couple things to understand about how you are extracting, at the middle of the machine you will see that there’s a pressure gauge, depending on how you extracted the espresso gauge will change depending if you have it on perfect, under extracted or over extracted. you will need the gauge to stay about in the center area, if it’s below to the left it’s under extracted and if it’s over to right near the red meaning it’s over extracted ( you will get a quick start guide to help you understand about extracting a lot better with pictures to provide as well ) - now to the right we have a triple hole steam want in not that great when it comes to creating latte art, my previous steamer was alot shorter, very happy that Prestigio have a much longer want to work with. - I didn’t experience any brewing inconsistency at all, from past few days of watch the device it was brewing the same I amount I would expect and haven’t disappoint. - Delonghi have created an amazing coffee machine, the built in grinder works, for me the grind size is enough to choose from, I doubt i’ll be changing it much since i mainly stay with light/medium roast. the ease of use and having less mess from making your coffee make this a machine a solid buy, not only that the look of the machine is such an eye catcher. my only tip about using this machine is to discale first, i’ve noticed some debris came out of the tube after doing so, overall i’m very happy how simple this machine works, it brews perfectly, solid recommendations.

First of all, if you've never used an Espresso Maker, De'Longhi makes it so easy to become a professional batista in your own home and office. I put thing into the break room at the office and the eyes lit up. Friday morning coffee and cookies was a huge hit. It comes with everything but the coffee beans and cream. Grinder, frother, filters and a huge water reservoir for seemingly endless cups. There's even a cold down stand to make the perfect single or double shot Espresso. I'm actually going to post a video of the first use later on YouTube. I'm so happy I got this. This is a truly high end machine and it makes everyone happy when it's activated. Get this thing and be up some smiles.

I’ve tried a bunch of these home espresso machines. This specific one is, hands down, on the top tier. Best value for this tier/price point. Out performs others and even higher price points. Makes great espresso and has simple presets that you can use for any drink. Super easy to use and maintain. Plenty of water storage and grinds the beans perfectly. The best part of this specific model is that it has a dual heating element. The steam (and hot water) run independently from the coffee one. The steam comes out of the wand with good pressure and does not get bogged down while brewing other coffee. For being a home use machine, this really can handle high use reliably without feeling like it’s going to break down mid use (Like other brands). Get an almost commercial feel at home.

First off, the espresso machine looks great! The machine is quite heavy, which in my opinion is a good thing. The build quality is also top notch. Out of the box you get more items that I expected. You of course get the espresso machine, the bean container and lid, single and a double filter, a small stainless steel (I think) milk pitcher, a portafilter, a long thin brush, a small plastic steam reservoir cleaner, descaling solution, a small strip for checking Ph balance (Not sure, didn’t use it), an AC power cable, and instructions, and other inserts. Let me state this. This unit comes with a detachable power cable. I don’t know why other companies don’t do this more often, but it makes cleaning the unit so much easier and safer knowing that the plug itself won’t run the risk of getting wet and potentially rusting. When I want to clean any major part of the machine, I place some tape of the exposed mating point of the power plug and I can clean without any concern. Setting up was taking everything out of the box, place the machine where you want it, plug it in, and was the major smaller components with warm water and a little soap. I was ready to give the machine a go. Here are some of the major selling points for this unit. It has a built in bean grinder, an optimal zone gauge, hot water delivery, a preset beverage selection for espresso, americano, and coffee. There’s also a ‘my’ button for creating personalized settings (I did not use this during my review, maybe on an update). One of the better things in life is a nice hot/cold cup of coffee. What’s even better is knowing that you’re not spending potentially $200 a month to enjoy the many cups of coffee. The one belief that I have is that in order to get great coffee, use filtered water. After grinding down the beans into a nice fine powder (About ¼ of the way from the left), I pulled on the tamping lever, set it to and espresso. After you grind the beans, it automatically fills the portafilter. From there you pull the lever and the hard part is over. Place the portafilter into the extractor and watch your little cup get filled with delicious smooth espresso. While that was going, I decided to try out the steam wand. I learned from experience not to pour milk up to the top when using a steam wand; you’re welcome. I poured in about a 1/3 of milk. The milk’s texture is what you would find in any good coffee establishment. The espresso came out rather quickly and with a nice layer of crema on top. I did the same in making the Americano. (Bean grind setting had to be changed). The outcome was also excellent. I tried making a latte (Both hot and cold with a little vanilla) and a cappuccino, and both turned out great. The drinks tasted smooth, and combining the espresso with the foamy milk created a nice blend. Clean up afterwards was simple and easy. I removed and threw away the used grounds, cleaned the portafilter and the separate filter, wiped down and excess espresso that dripped, and cleaned the steam wand. The really nice part of the machine is that it tampers the ground coffee, so takes out some of the guessing involved. The drinks that I made for the review all tasted great. I would definitely recommend it for any coffee lover out there.
