Brand name was the motivation for purchasing this unite.

Set up is somewhat difficult, but if your not a Newbie, it's simplified. Prob never go to a theater again! Why would I? It's at my house. 5 stars for sure!

This receiver works great with my Samsung TV. I had a pioneer and both Tv and receiver were fighting for control of the cable. Denon is excellent.

I'VE OWNED THREE PREVIOUS DENON AVR AND THEY ARE ALL GOOD. THE REMOTE APP IS VERY USABLE AS WELL.

It was time to replace my old faithful Yamaha 5.1 surround receiver. It is still in perfect working condition, but it doesn't support the Dolby Tru HD format of my XBox One. That being said, I researched this unit against comparably priced Yamaha and Onkyo units. Speaking with an advisor at Best Buy yielded a less than informed response as to pros and cons of each model and which model he'd choose. Which prompted me to do a bunch of online research. Long story short, I chose this model and love it. I still have a lot to figure out on it, but the initial set up is a breeze. The separation of sound watching movies is spectacular. The sound while listening to music is smooth. Crisp highs and clean mids and lows. I'm looking forward to years of enjoyment out of it and learning everything this unit has to offer.

I searched and looked for 4 months for a decent receiver that didn't break the bank. Being a little old school, I prefer to buy good speakers and worry about the amp later. This unit has everything wrapped up into one, great sound, great value, and makes my B&W speakers sound like an arena! Very very pleased with this purchase. Even more pleased with the customer service from Denon. They helped me get the right configuration to get more out of the amp and were more than patient with my stupid questions.

I bought this receiver as an upgrade from a Denon AVR 2500, which is more than 15 years old. I bought this so I can hookup the digital A/V signal from my TV to the receiver. I couldn't do it on the old receiver. Setup is very easy and my sound system sounds so much better with the new receiver. What's great too is that I can still hook up my old CD player to the receiver without having to buy a new one. Since this receiver takes analog signal.

I am an old tube Amp guy and prefer the warm analog sound of yesteryear but when building my home theater I chose the right amp in the Denon AVR-1200W plenty of power to drive my main Klipsch , Klipsch sub as well as my JBL Surrounds and works very well with the Samsung UN JS8500 TV. Could not be happier with this Purchase. great Deal at Best Buy!

The sound quality is horrible! I have a Dolby Atmos set up in my home theater.

Purchased as joint anniversary gift based on reviews. Old system 18 years old so this was a learning curve for us. This receiver is awesome does everything we need and more.

I recently upgraded my old Pioneer Receiver sc-1522 with this and it was like night & day. The audio was clearer and louder than before. I enjoy watching and listening more than before

There is like an one second delay between the video from Youtube and the audio playing off my Samsung S4 phone. I already checked the audio delay setting and is at 0 ms. Any increase from 0-200 ms will only make it worst as it only add more delay to the audio. I will continue to search on internet to see if anyone else have this issue. It could be just my cell phone that cause this delay so I don't want to be so quick to blame Denon for this yet. This receiver is a bargain consider it has Atmos and DTS:X for this price range. I have this audio delay problem out of the box and after successful firmware update still have the delay.

Very good receiver that provides great sound output. Has more than enough HDMI inputs for my needs (two game consoles and cable box) with several more to spare. Wi-fi setup using Apple's Airplay works well and makes setting up wi-fi a snap. Love the fact that when the receiver is off the AV signal for the last selected source flows seamlessly through to my TV. Remote is OK, would be better if there was an illumination feature that made it easier to see what buttons are being pushed in a darkened room. Radio tuner appears to work well in my area, picking up all the popular stations I regularly listen to.
