Incredible Sound, loaded with technology!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this system primarily for its multi-room and wifi remote app features (deck stereo, family room 5.1). It delivered big time! I can turn on ONLY the deck sound, whether the inside sound is on or not... using my iPad or iPhone ... Play internet radio, Bluetooth audio (has to be close), or AirPlay content. Note that surround sources won't play on the 2nd zone. Ok, I can't listen to NFL games in the deck while others are watching inside in surround sound - I can live with this considering everything else. The sound is unreal at low or high volume!!!! This system can make average speakers sound like they cost 10x as much! The Audessey DSP calibration trains the AV system to understand your main room, your speakers, and how they are arranged relative to your listening positions. The result is extraordinary sound at low, medium, and even very high volumes. I could not detect any distortion from this system with my critical judgement and hearing. My only tweak on this system is that when playing music using AirPlay on 2nd zone, the remote app will adjust zone 2 volume, but if I adjust the AirPlay source (e.g phone) volume, it changes zone1 volume, even if it has a separate sound source (this annoys people inside). I assume this could be a future firmware fix & update. Denon hit a home run with this system. Very high end for $500-600.

So glad I bought this!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Denon receiver to replace a Samsung receiver that was part of a Home Theater in a Box system I bought from Best Buy back in late 2010. After almost 5 years of flawless service, the Samsung started flashing "PROTECTION" after about 20 minutes of use, so it was time to replace it and this a MAJOR upgrade. It's more powerful, has more codecs (including HD), has multiple configurations (5.1, 6.1, 7.1, 7.2, 5.1.2 for Front Height channels) and is more advanced in every way. Being able to connect it to the internet via home wi-fi is probably the coolest feature; now I can stream thousands of radio stations from all over the world, plus Pandora, Spotify, etc.! There is also a pretty decent app available for free that controls the receiver and is great for browsing all those internet stations. There are some features that I haven't used, like Bluetooth streaming from devices and the 4K stuff, but it's there when I eventually upgrade my TV. The only thing I might complain about would be a lack of buttons on the remote, but that's really just a personal preference, and I really need to play with the whole system more. Overall, I love my receiver and would recommend it to pretty much everyone who games, movie and TV fans, and anyone who wants to upgrade from something old and/or broken!

Great sound for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The system was easy to set up and it works fine. It does take about 5 seconds to come on. WARNING: I had mine connected to the internet with ethernet cable. After a few days it wanted to update its firmware the next time it powered down and I said OK. A while later I noticed my internet connection was down. I thought "great, during the firmware update" 4 days later I still had no internet and TWC was no help. I finally disconnected the ethernet from the receiver and my internet was back.

Great Receiver!!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Recently my "highly rated" pioneer receiver failed after only 5 years. The AB speaker switch function button no longer worked. I use it to control my outside Bose patio speakers. I was very disappointed that it only lasted 5 years. I began looking for a new receiver that would take its place. After having the problem with Pioneer I looked to other brands. I wanted a user friendly receiver without all the intimidating control buttons on the unit. I like technology but it also has to be easy to operate. Denon seemed to be perfect for the job after looking at other brands. I started out with the base Elite model but found it could not control the speakers the way I wanted. Unfortunately I had to go up 2 levels to just to get the speaker control I needed. That is the only negative of my whole review. It cost more than my Pioneer but it has made up for the cost with user friendlyness!! I love the remote app for my iPhone. The setup was very easy to understand and quite simple. Overall (except for the higher cost) I love this receiver.

Great Options for the Price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to use. On screen setup was great. WIFI pickup is okay. Not weak but not super strong. I love all the options. Sound quality increase from my old receiver which was a great Dennon receiver was noticable. Also has a zone 2 Audio out which many of the other receivers at a higher price did not have.

Denon - AVR-X1200W 1225W 7.2-Ch. 4K Ultra HD and 3
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Denon - AVR-X1200W 1225W 7.2-Ch. 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass-Through A/V Home Theater Receiver is the best purchase I've made to date.. It sounds great with only 6 of The 7 speakers allowed hooked up and 1 of the two subwoofers allowed. My theater room is a fairly nice since and this Demon does the trick.. The set up was very easy.. No need to go to the movies anymore!!

Bells and Whistles Galore
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounds great!! This receiver has it all. Hard to believe it is considered entry level, includes wifi and bluetooth. Basic setup was a breeze. Seems to improve the TV video although it does not include upscaling. Another plus is Denon's customer service is first class. My only complaint is that the pass-through can be finicky, probably user error.

Great receiver
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This reciever is amazing. As soon I hooked this thing up, I could see and hear the difference in quality from my Pioneer. Setup was easy. I'm finally getting the best out of my surround sound. This receiver is worth the coin.

Q: Question4 Ohm SpeakersI have a set of Martin Logan Motion series surround speakers, so all 4 ohm. Will the receiver work with that impedance?
Asked by Tommy S.
- A:Answer Yes it will, but you must change the settings as follows Carry out the following settings when using a speaker with an impedance of 4 – 6 Ω/ohms. 1. Press and hold the main unit’s ZONE2 SOURCE and STATUS at the same time for at least 3 seconds. “V.Format:< NTSC>” appears on the display. 2. Press DIMMER on the main unit twice. “Sp.Imp.:<8ohms>” appears on the display. 3. Press TUNER PRESET CH + or TUNER PRESET CH - on the main unit to select the impedance. 6ohms: Select when the impedance for any of the connected speakers is 6 Ω/ohms. 4ohms: Select when the impedance for any of the connected speakers is 4 Ω/ohms. 4. Q: QuestionWhat is the microphone for?It mentions it coming with a microphone, what is that used for?
Asked by justina.
- A:Answer The mic is for Audysey room calibration that is on board the receiver. Place the mic on a tripod or the paper tripod that it came with and place it on the couch at the main listening area (where you always sit). Then plug in the mic to the front of the receiver and follow the directions. You basically will move the mic to 8 different areas in the main listening area and around the area to set speaker distance, levels, crossovers and add filters to make audio corrections in your room as all rooms are different.
