I use outboard amplifiers to power all my speakers so I purchased this receiver as a "budget friendly" Pre-Amplifier... so far it has filled all my needs very well with one glaring exception (that was fixed in the new 6700h, I have found out now) not being able to turn off or completely disable the internal amplifiers. Now this is not a really big problem because it only means that the receiver will run a little warmer as it supplies power to the amps but since there is no speaker(resistance) in the circuit the amps are technically just on but not drawing current... other than that all the advertised features and capabilities are excellent. I would only recommend you add a fan to extend the life of the unit... AC Infinity makes a slim fan that works well with it.

I spent a good amount of time reveiwing all of my options for an 11.2 channel receiver that had the 7.2.4 option for Atmos. While there are many great receivers that can fit those needs, I am very happy with the Denon. Prior to this we had a Pioneer Elite, and needless to say, they both function equally well in my opinion. I’ve never owned a Denon before, and so far this unit has made me quite happy. The only downside I’ve found is that it happens to run very hot compared to other brands I’ve had over the years. As far as I could tell from some quick googling, this is quite normal for the Denon In Command units. As a precaution, I still ordered up some cooling fans just to ensure I get many years of enjoyment. Anyway, I would recommend this product, and at $2,200, it’s one of the better deals you’ll find for a good 11.2 channel as most are 3k or more.

Amazing home theater control with this Denon. Options from BiAmp 5 channel to ATMOS 11 channel. This Denon will handle a full array of theater and stereo needs. Room correction with Audessey for easy calibration or custom EQ for you super stereo tweakers, you can feel and hear the power control. Independent double subwoofer output gives you much more bass power and control, get some splitters and run 4 subwoofers easily. I could go on...

Only had this product for a couple of days and still trying to appreciate its many features. I can say my movie experience has greatly improved. On the other hand the jury is still out on music quality only because i have to get a different set of speakers to fully appreciate if any how it enhances music listening experience. Having said that the only issue i have is not with the receiver but with Bestbuy. When i received the unit the box had what i can describe as a hole in it and upon opening the package the styrofoam bottom was all cracked meaning that box was mishandled or dropped at the very least while in bestbuy custody. If there is any long term damage only time will tell though everything on the exterior looked fine. So this is to bestbuy be more careful while handling customer purchases since they are paying good money for these products.

lots of power with plenty of inputs for the perfect movie experience

Power power power this thing is a beast hooked it up to Martin Logan slim xl,fx20 rears the 1600 sub and the x3 center. It sounds amazing I’m actually debating on putting this in a different room and going to the next series up of Martin Logan speakers with this receiver.

Hands down...one of the best 11 channels receiver out there. It's even better than the movies! I have all 11 channels connected to Klipsch reference speakers including Atmos speakers and subwoofers. AWESOMENESS!!!!!

I had a Denon amplifier (Made in Japan) last me for over ten years, but needed a 4K version. Consistent quality, plus an app for controlling amplifier from your phone (when amplifier is connected to your network). Very happy with this purchase!

This 11.2 Atmos is a real beast... super clear separated sounds and very powerful. Very easy to use menu and real superb 4k 60p upscaling 4:4:4 chroma enhance..

Upgraded to this for dolby atmos. Phenominal audio receiver. Easy to hook up and now a app helps in setting this up with the use of a microphone for calibration

About a month ago I decided to pull the trigger and upgrade from my Onkyo TX-RZ800 to the X6500H. I really didn't know what to expect in terms of noticeable sonic upgrade but...impressive. (BTW the Onkyo is a fine unit at that price point) It takes some time and tweaking to get it in the sweet spot but it is more than worth the effort . The sound is immersive but delicate...across all platforms. TV streaming, Internet radio, DirecTV and BluRay. Running a 7.1.2 setup...hard to evaluate Atmos as I don't have many source options. Bottom line: If you have the resources I would give this a unabashed two thumbs up!

This thing has enough power for 11 .2 speakers, it does the latest sounds, i have not tried imax expeirence yet. But I'm loving this thing.

Seems to be a beast and works great so far. I am running a 3.2.2 system and it allows me to play back the Atmox and DTSX tracks on Blu-ray, and I can use Dolby surround on normal audio to still use my front upfiring speakers. Love the sound so far, the front Dolby Speakers added another dimension.

I had a pioneer receiver and just couldn’t get the sound I wanted from my Definitive Technology speakers I have the BP 9060 towers and center channel with 2 subs and BP 9040 towers for rear surround. Then I purchased this beast called Denon 6500h the rest is a dream come true . Thank you Denon great features to top it off.

I bought this Denon to repace my old Yamaha. This is my 1st Denon receiver. I'm extremely impressed with the sound and picture quality! The sound is so dynamic, deep, and clear. A perfect match for B&W 702 s2!

This is wonderful for a high end theater room! Great sound, and fully automatic, unless you choose otherwise. Always selects the best quality for any source. And the iPhone app is awesome.

Only receiver that I could find that had 11 channels (for a 7.2.4 system). Already had a 4300H, so it was a no brainer to get this one for the theater room!

I replaced my aging Sony AV Receiver with this one. Setup is a breeze, as is calibration. Sound is amazing. I'm running it with a 9.1 setup with Klipsch speakers, including Atmos.
