This is a very solid receiver..offering most if not all of the bells and whistles of higher end models. Its doesn't have the amp/power supply of higher end models...but if you listen at mostly moderate levels you would probably not know the difference

Can't complain yet. Easy to use and at a decent price. Not enough atmos content to give fair review

Surround sound receiver with ATMOS features can be pretty spendy. This is a decent value for features and performance

Denon always made quality, high end products and innovations. This newest state of the art AV Receiver is no exception. With the wifi built in technology, it can control multiple items such as TV, blue ray player, speakers and multi Zone programmable. I'm not a tech person, so can't give you the specifics on the spec but you can find those online. I love the reliability and the results when I use the product.

This is an amazing product. I have never purchased a Denon product, but it certainly will not be the last one I buy. Only complaint is how hot it gets.

The sounds was not as good as I hoped. the sale rep demonstrated the 5200 but thought it was the 4100. I bought the 4100 thinking it was what was demo.

Bought this to replace an old (2004) Harman Kardon AVR-325. There was nothing really wrong with the 325 but I liked some of the features of the newer receivers and more power. My setup is a 5.2, with Def tech 7002 bi-polar towers with built in subwoofers (12" with two 14" radiators in each tower#, a Def tech CLR Center and Polk surrounds. The Harman drove them to pretty high levels #I listen to it loud#, but felt I might get more with some extra power. The 325 was rated at 65W x 7, but older Harman receivers were underrated. My subs have their own class D amps. The 4100W is a nice looking unit. Setup was very easy with the Audyssey system. I notice more detail in the sound, it is slightly crisper that my old 325. While the Denon is supposed to have 125w per channel, the difference in true power between the two is only slightly higher. I measured it with power center that tells me the amperage being pulled from the device. As many others have commented on different Audyssey setups, it had the bass set really low, had to make a manual adjustment to bring it up. My Den is 14x24, so not a huge space, but not small either. I didn't have a chance to listen to this receiver before buying it, as it is hard to find locally, the sound is good, but not a huge improvement over my previous receivers. The features are very nice as far as Pandora Radio / Bluetooth, and other streaming content. It sees all the recorded programs from my Direct TV DVRS, but won't play them #haven't had a chance to see why#. I don't regret buying it, but it wasn't a huge improvement over other receivers I have used.

I absolutely love this Denon AVR4100W receiver I have been looking for a receiver that would allow my resound 2 streamer to stream the audio to my hearing aids I actually ordered tried and returned three other receivers then tried this one and after a session with Denon support where Chris actually listened to my problem didn't have an immediate answer for me but said I will go research it and then call me back. So 15 minutes later Chris called back and within 10 min we had solved the problem and the audio was being streamed to my hearing aids. The set up was a breeze and the sound quality is superb. The wifi performs flawlessly and I love everything about my new receiver.

    Denon Has Major Issues

I needed to replace my Denon 3806, it didn't have the HDMI Arc capability to be compatible with our new TV. I was perfectly ok with the Denon 3806...never a problem and produced decent sound. Denon and Marantz are owned by the same company so I thought I'd give Marantz a try as they were also noted as a quality manufacturer. Since this is a Denon review I'll keep the Marantz part brief... you can also see my reviews on the Marantz products. I went through 2 Marantz receivers that had issues with firmware, both froze up within the 1st day, additionally both were unable to connect to the Internet. Two days of my life wasted in set up and troubleshooting. After returning each I decided to go back to Denon. That was my second...actually third mistake. Having faith that Denon wouldn't let me down, I bought the x4100 which had the same problems as it's sister Marantz receivers. The bluetooth feature locked up almost immediately, followed by the inability to connect to the internet. Denon customer service walked me through a reset that fixed the Bluetooth for a short time but within 5 minutes the sound became choppy and inaudible..totally useless! They had no "fix" for this! I should have been done with Denon and Marantz at this point but no, my distant past successful experience with Denon led me to try one more time, and the fact BB had the Flagship 2013, AVR 4520ci on sale for almost $1500.00 off! It was last years model, not a new release but brand new. Unfortunately, again Denon robbed me of another day of my life. This one locked up in the process of updating the firmware and Denon customer service couldn't get it working again. They offered no further customer service. Nothing! No way to fix the problems, just a "sorry for your luck" attitude. That's two new receivers from Denon and two from Matantz all worthless within 24 hours of purchase! The Denon X4100 along with the Marantz 5009 and 6009 are new 2014 releases, obviously they have unresolved issues. It appears they have the same faulty operating system (firmware) in these models. These should not have been released to retail until these issues were resolved. I cannot believe Denon/Marantz wasn't aware of these serious issues before? They just popped up??? Don't they do extensive testing on these units...or do they leave that to us, the consumer?? The way I see it Denon and Marantz have wasted 4 days of my life that I'll never get back. I won't deal with either of these companies again and I highly recommend you consider a different brand as this one is selling faulty receivers and couldn't care less about your experience.

The first one I brought home had a bad center speaker amp. The Guys at the Allen Best Buy stepped up and help me make it right! My last Denon receiver lasted over 10 years. The second one I brought home has been very nice.
