Bought this unit to replace an older AVR 2309 and couldn’t be happier. Has enough power and clarity to fill our game room/movie room. If your budget is in the $1k range, this one should be highly considered.

This is my second Denon Receiver and I love it (first one purchased more than 10 years ago). Easy to set up with on screen directions and the surround sound is great!

Denon Rules

For the price at around a grand, this receiver rocks. You just can't go wrong with Denon. The last receiver I had cost close to 2 grand and I bought back in 2009. It lasted a long time before finally blowing up on me. I really drive my receivers really hard and Denon always holds up. Instead of sending in to get fixed, I needed to finally upgrade to 4k. Denon did not disappoint and I've been very happy with my purchase.

I bought this to power a 7.2 speaker system, while also allowing for easy playback of Spotify music.
This receiver has lived up to its reputation. With the HEOS app, I can quickly and easily play Spotify across two different zones.
I've also paired with a Logitech remote to allow for simple, one-remote use, and can easily navigate between Apple TV, Hulu, Playstation and Music playback!

Great Upgrade to NAD T773

I replaced my ancient NAD T773 (no HDMI) with this Denon and am very happy after about a month with the new unit. I have a 5:1 setup that has come alive with the Denon - better sound overall, better surround by a mile. Setup took a while, but on-screen menu worked very well for me. Will see how it stands the test of time, but great so far.

Brought BIG Tower Speakers to LIFE

I have Definitive Technology Tower BiPolar tower speakers, tweeters front and back, 2 mid ranges front and back, and powered sub's built in...and the matching center. JBL towers in the back. Powered consecutively by 2 Pioneers including an Elite.
Vs the Pioneer the Denon 3500 brought these speakers set to life, clearer, warmer, more balanced bass. Initial setup was pretty simple, and typical to get the system just up and running on basics, and since it's internet connected it updated itself. Have not moved to setting Alexis, internet radio, and number of other features. Pass through of TV picture signal seems to be improved as well.
After about a month, I am very happy. A nit picking note is the remote appears to have a narrow signal, I have to pick it up and point it at the unit, whereas other remotes seem to have a broader coverage. Reportedly, Alexis control may overcome issue, just haven't set up yet.

Worked perfectly and sounds terrific. Upscaling from 1080 to 4K isn’t perfect but decent. Setup is complicated but expected from a Denon that does it all. Download the manual! There are a lot of settings that need adjusting that are not obvious from the quick setup.

The Denon AVR 3500 is a great av receiver for watching TV, playing games, or listening to music. Basic setup was simple and not really time consuming (well, other than the update, my internet is SLOW). Download the user manual (my preferred format) before you start set up, it comes in handy. Alexa works well with the receiver.

Initially was going to purchase a different lower/model. This was on sale and just a little more than I was already willing to spend. The features are amazing as is the quality. This is a must have if you want to create a great home theater system.

Replaced an older unit. 7.1 Bose speakers. Plenty of HDMI inputs for satellite, cable, Blu Ray, and three gaming systems. Easy to use and set up as well. Online manual was needed only for more difficult connections and actions.
