    About What I Expected

The game is fun but don't expect to grind in this version. If you liked grinding for gear perk rolls in D1 those days are gone. Most of the best cosmetic stuff is locked behind a loot box wall. Psychological gambling tricks remain ... slot machine sounds as the engram opens. Whee! Wish fireteams could be 4 people instead of 3.

It's a loot game so get ready to grind. Physical edition is just a paper download code

Good gun play, but gets a little stale quickly

Excellent engine, runs wonderfully. The guns feel good, but the gameplay does get stale after a while. Feels like the same handful of missions repeating over and over, and you max level out after 10-15 hours of gameplay, meaning you don't feel much progression pretty quickly. Worth a shot if you can get it on sale.

Despite all the things being said about Destiny 2, I'm just a fan of open worlds and leveling up. I'm just now getting into PC gaming, I played many hours of Destiny 2 on my Xbox and it became real mundane and boring. But the visuals on the PC have really renewed my interest in the game. So in my opinion, if you have a good enough GPU for the job then pick it up, enjoy the visuals, and you'll forget about all the negativity that surrounds the game.

"Release day shipping" was late. Will be doing in-store pickup from now on. I have also yet to receive the 500 rewards points for my pre-order with GCU... Content was locked behind DLC paywall a month after release. After finishing weekly milestones, there's no real reason to keep playing, as there's no other way to level up. Not much to do after reaching maximum light either since the loot is generic and lackluster. Feels like Bungie took 3 years of community feedback from the original Destiny and threw it out in favor of the loot box cash grab.

If you're into RPG shooters like Borderlands, you'll have fun playing this game. Not many games have co-op campaigns, so that's definitely a plus if you're looking to play with friends.

I loved Destiny 1 and wanted to love Destiny 2. The game is fun and Bungie knows how to still make a great feeling FPS but that’s as far as it goes. From the shallow, unimpressionable campaign to leveling up and getting to the even shallower end game. (There is no end game worth mentioning). If you always wanted Destiny 1 to be a much more casual game they did that well but unfortunately all other decisions have been revolved around selling you loot crates and shady practices involving invisible nerfs to your xp and the now one time use shaders. The whole thing is a mess and I have broken out and recovered from my stalkholm syndrome to tell you all the truth. This isn’t the game we were peomised and were waiting for... will play again in year 3. Until then, uninstalling and not buying DLC period.

Spoiler free* So far, this game has been a rinse/repeat of the first in the series. Much of what was in the original, is here as well. With a sprinkling of new features. You will have to buy the expansion pass if you don't want to spend even more for the individual DLCs as they release.
