    Campaign review D1 vs D2

D1 was disappointing due to no story, only 10 missions in the same area, and length of campaign only being 6 hours. In D2 I had low expectations and was pleasantly surprised. First thing I noticed was the graphics. The colors and scenery are amazing. There is a good story that pulls you in. I’m only a few hours in but this game is worth the discounted price!

This is the first Destiny game I played even though I always loved Bungie as the ones who created Halo. I love the way the game feels and how nice the shooting is so butter smooth. Still getting involved in the story but so far I am hooked and can't wait to see what other Destiny 2 game modes for PVP after I finish the excellent campaign. New or veteran Destiny fans need to pick this amazing game up today!

    Guardian Awesomeness

Destiny 2 is an excellent sequel witth a more engaging story. The new worlds are so massive and beautiful that I want to stop shooting and enjoy the view. While the good ol crew is still around, there are new characters to interact with. The musical score is top notch and atmospheric. So much to do, so little time. With so many different weapons, armor and subclasses to customize your guardian, you will not be board! The clans, fireteams and public events are more accessible for casual players this time around. The rifles feel more impactful and realistic to me too. And dont forget the Crucible multiplayer. The ability to use a sword adds more hand-to-hand combat feel, reminiscent to using the hammer in Halo. Currently, Multiplayer is only 4v4. I hope they change that in future expansions. Remember Big Team Battle (Halo), Skirmish (3v3) and even doubles? I'm having a blast, so to speak. Kudos to Bungie for creating an amazing worthy sci-fi action shooter franchise! Overhyped but has its merits

I will admit that FPS games for the most part have jumped the shark. Destiny 2 reminds me of a lot other games namely Borderlands 2, Halo, and Mass Effect. It’s a muddled hybrid of the three sans the engrossing story of ME, the personality or uniqueness of Borderlands, and doesn’t quite reach Halo’s heights in production. It is a fun co-op shooter with decent campaign— 6 hours or so. Another note for the campaign, the interface and in game menus are abysmal and will take some learning. This game is not fun if you are not tackling the campaign with friends. Also the online multiplayer is mostly fun unless you have to grind your way to level 20. I wouldn’t recommend it at its full price but at a sale it’s one of the better shooters in 2017.

If you liked Destiny 1 you will enjoy Destiny 2. They fixed allot of the problems from the first game, but in doing so over simplified things. For example weapons not all have the same perks, there is no grinding for a perfect roll, once you get the weapon the grind is over. One thing I dont like is you can't choose what game mode to play in crucible, its random each time. The raid is just OK, it more of a giant puzzle with only 1 boss fight. I prefer the raids in the old Destiny with several boss fights. I'm not sure what it is, but I found myself getting bored of this game much faster than the first game. Once you get to a certain power level there is only a limited amount of things to do each week to improve your level.

When I purchased Destiny one I bought it a year and a half after it came out so any attempt at playing multiplayer or anything like that was stupid, because I was never going to catch up on level, weaponry armory etc. so my review may be a little biased in that sense, because I wasn’t a huge fan of D1. but so far Destiny 2 has been awesome, the campaign has been straightforward, multiplayer is cool. If you’ve never played Destiny and you’re a diehard call of duty fan this may not be for you, but if you like the Halo games this is very similar as far as first person shooter style. The initial download size was smaller in D2. But if you’re an avid Xbox one gamer, you already have a 2TB extension

Destiny 2 looks and plays much like the previous title which I think is a good thing! Pros: Improved story line and story telling Better approach to the Crucible Ghost has much better voice acting this time A little more variety of tasks over the original Better matchmaking for Strikes and Raids Cons: You will find yourself repeating tasks while grinding a lot to get the best weapons but that's sort of the point if this type of game. I'd say that Destiny 2 is superior in every facet over the original.

Destiny 2 improves itself over its predecessor in almost every way. The combat feels better along with all the guns. While there are way more activities to do this time around also that make you feel like you are getting more bang for your buck. There is quite the grind at the end game, but it is as expected with a game like this. The story is also much better, and will keep you busy for hours.

As someone who played the trial of Destiny 1 and really did not enjoy it, I have found Destiny 2 to be a significant improvement. From the start the story is interesting, and the graphics are incredible. There's enough content to stay engaged for dozens of hours. I will say this game is far more enjoyable when you have a group of friends who play regularly, because most of the post-campaign content requires multiple people to complete.

Unlike its predecessor, Destiny 2 finally rocks a decent story line to accompany the familiar online multiplayer experience. I found myself enjoying the varied campaign missions, and doing co-op raids with friends whenever I want to do something different from competitive multiplayer. That said, I still put in hours into the multiplayer because of the different maps, weapons, and abilities one can use to shine in this game.

I bought this for my husband and watch him play nearly every evening. The online play is very smooth without glitches. Lots of elements in it from updgrading your skills to updating your gear. Creating your character is very limited but because you’re wearing a helmet, you’re not noticed when you’re walking around your people and upgrading. Sound is clear and tons of action to be had.

Great Sequel to my Favorite Game

I'm going to assume that readers of this review have read other reviews that explain the objectives and mechanics of this game in greater detail, and stick just making comparisons to the original Destiny game. In a nutshell: The gameplay feels identical with regard to control response, button layout, etc. The storyline of the game is much easier to understand and follow in D2 than in D1. The visuals in D2 are even richer and more varied than in D1, which IMO had great visuals to begin with. A lot of the Player vs Enemy combat sequences seem to have more enemies attacking at any given time, with more waves of enemies to fight, resulting in much longer battles and more player "deaths". Not better or worse than D1, just different. Without giving away any spoiler details, I'll just say that the one Raid currently available is more similar in length and complexity to Crota's End (meaning: shorter and less complex) than to the other three raids in D1. Up to you whether you think that's good or bad, or irrelevant. The Raid has a lot of fun parts that require a lot of interaction within the team, overall I give it a thumbs-up. The one area of the game I am not thrilled with at this point is the "loot system". This is actually two separate issues: 1) As anyone familiar with the game knows, playing the game rewards you with "loot": gear that increases your Light level, which increases your character's ability to inflict and withstand damage. The problem is, in D2, once you get to about 270 light (out of a possible 350), most of the loot you receive gives you gear that is BELOW the Light level you are already at. To be fair, I haven't done a lot of research on YouTube, Reddit or elsewhere yet to see if there are more effective ways to level up. But as of now, it seems like grinding hours of Strikes and Crucible in D2 will not raise my light significantly. 2) the Loot System has gotten more complicated. In addition to weapons, armor, ships, sparrows, emblems and shaders, loot now includes weapon and armor mods, each of which can be applied to a single piece of gear a single time. Shaders can now be applied to weapons and ships, in addition to armor, but each shader is a single-use item, and can only be applied to a single piece of gear. After hours of grinding, you end up with a much larger and more complex inventory of items to sort through. OK if you're a dedicated gamer, Not so appealing to the casual gamer. On the overall i really enjoy this game, but unless i find ways of raising my light level more efficiently so that I have a hope of remaining competitive in events where light level is a major factor, this game might not hold my interest for three years like D1 did.

Being a huge fan of the original I was weary when purchasing the sequel. Heard some negative things but, now after playing it through myself I see that they were mostly wrong. If you’re a fan of the original then you’ll like this game. Great story, great gameplay. Still great grind.

I really like Destiny 2 - I felt like their were some great moments that made you feel some accomplishment for getting through them and it told a very good story about despair and victory. The game play mechanics were good, a few choices in character abilities, and moving around seemed a bit faster than the original. The issue that I had was end game content being repetitive and not as rewarding as I had hoped for. Yes, there were many strikes to complete, a raid to finish, gear to be had. But there was also - run here do this, run there do that. All with the hopes to have the highest gear level when much of the game scales to whatever gear you have at the moment anyways. I would recommend to pick it up and give it 4 stars, go through the story and do some of the end content with the idea that it is a good game for that. I would only give it 5 stars to a person that would feel accomplishment from doing tasks over and over again to get the highest light level.

Game has a ton to do with the promises of more content tons of group play for you and your fire team story was bounds and leaps better than the original games and they took alot of the critisism they got from the last game only thing I've been disappointed with is the raid and the incentives to do it each week

Destiny 2 picks up the slack from the original Destiny. While I enjoyed the first game, the second one offers a good story, easier to follow challenges and milestones. The multiplayer is nice, and enjoyable. Loot drops also seem to have improved while still being challenging in raids.

Single player campaign was improved and satisfying to finish. Overall there is more depth to the game. Clan set up is nice and gives better ability to set up fire teams. Changing color of individual gear is nice touch. Will be interesting to see where game goes from here with first DLC
