Make sure you listen to what the humans say when you scan and probe them. Funny comments are made. I like the retro aspect of the game. Been having fun playing this game. Cool upgrade to alien and spaceship as wells. Have fun.

First, some context, I grew up with the original Xbox and had the pleasure of playing this game as a child. Having put probably a dozen or so playthroughs of the original, with my most recent having been within the past 2 years, I was concerned my nostalgia would mess with my enjoyment of this one. I am happy to say that whether you played the original or not this game will provide hours of enjoyment for players. For new players it has its own charm and humor that, while I am glad to see is kept as close to the original with no censors, it makes the effort to make the lines come off smoother even with the modern day. However I speak more the those who played the original in that this game is leaps and bounds of improvement that make it far from frustrating. First, DNA farming is not nearly as annoying as improvements to the probe gun and ship functions make it easier to reach late game upgrades. With a little extra time you will find you will get another 1,000-1,500 DNA easy. Second, new mobility features such as hoverboard, dashing, and improved energy shield draining for your UFO make getting around the maps more enjoyable and not as annoying. As in the original you would be limited to only your jetpack and riding out the fumes from your initial launch. And lastly for the good, map and level layouts feel much more thought out as in the original there were missions that put a strain on ability and ammo management as you could go long gaps without any way to refill. All of that being said I will address some faults I ran into as well. First, optional missions for unlocks can be unsatisfying in reward and vague in direction of what one is to do to achieve them. Second, UFO weapons can be lacking in impact in regards to in game damage. (This is important for later) Third, AI is buggy and can lead to some mission glitches (only happened once where a NPC for a mission was running away from where they should've been) or make it near impossible and a roll of the dice for optional missions. Lastly, the final boss (in my personal experience) is a test of patience as it strips you of opportunities to take advantage of ship improvements. As you will be mainly in your UFO unable to find ways to drain for more ammo and shields for your UFO. With max upgrades to shields and most ammo types it was a mood-killing fight that took the wind out my sails. Even with that though. I think new and old players can find enjoyment. With some help with a guide here and there for unlockables and some speed bumps with certain missions/fights I still find enjoyment in this game. Maybe some rose tint to my glasses. Though I am glad to see this property come back in full swing and make this as fun as it was back then. I would be happy to see the sequel get a remaster like this one. Regardless, I am glad I got to get this and enjoy a nice fun-loving game.

    Over the Top Alien Invasion

Aliens have their eyes set on Earth and it is up to you to lead it! You as Crypto are tasked with scouting and "probing" humans to extract DNA and wreak havoc on Earth to ensure your races survival. Use telekinesis to levate and throw objects and mammals, use an arsenal of weapons or use your space ship to destroy the landscaping. Of course, this would not be Destroy All Humans with out the over-the-top humor. It can get a little raunchy sometimes but I felt the work and scenarios kept it interesting. The real meat and potatoes comes when you beat a level's objective. This then opens up the openness of that level to complete additional missions and upgrade your character. Funny story, straight forward missions with an open world playground for each level. It is a remake of a 2005 game so there will be some draw backs such as lack of fast travel, but the characters and scenariors more than make up for it.

Great remake of a the original Destroy All Humans!. Crypto is a great character and this game is actually quite pretty, even if the overall game design hasn't changed much from the original. Really fun revisiting this one with a fresh coat of paint, though. We need more games like this nowadays.

Just your average blow 'em up, saucer destroys things game. More on the ground missions than flying around. Although blowing up the buildings is immensely satisfying with updated graphics, the story moves along pretty slowly. A more "open world" feel would have been better with perhaps some aerial combat (since we are talking about the remaster, why not add a little extra content?

    Nostalgic Updated Fun

If you're a fan of the original, you can't go wrong. It feels and plays like the original with obvious modern updates to controls, graphics, and an added mission/area. It's still fun and though the dialogue and humor aren't really updated, it's still entertaining. The main problem I have found is that the mission fail restrictions can be pretty strict and unforgiving, which for modern games is a bit unusual for a casual game like this, but it's nothing gamebreaking. If you never played the original, this is still good game, but you may not get as much out of it without experiencing it's history. Overall a well done and welcomed update.

Best remaster in a long while

Once i saw Destroy all Human make its way to Xbox gold monthly free games i downloaded the original and got about halfway through before the remaster was announced . So i put it on hold and waited a year. Pre ordered the remaster and was astounded at how much smoother it all felt and looked. The original is still a notorious game that will never go away. But the remaster just tapped into what we wished was possible with it originally. The story is funny, gameplay whacky, and creto (main character) is a dark humor efficiant who was before his time. Not the most family freindly game. But it's only due to jokes that i don't remember understanding as a kid. Teenage humor. Overall excellant and one of my favorite games in many years. Wonder if they'll ever remaster the 2nd game

The controls are a little wonky and the story feels like it’s very barebones compared to games of today, but this remake offers enough variety in its mission structure and fun side activities to make up for those short comings.

A good game to bring back a little nostalgia in your life. Revamped and remade from the ground up this remake is a step up from it's predecessor and brings life to a dated game which was very fun in it's hay day. Destroy all Humans is fun, witty and a blast (no pun intended be) to be had with a fresh layer of premium paint over it. Story remains unchanged and short but nonetheless fun through the entirety. Returning gamers will be pleased mainly due to nostalgic vibes and new graphics and new gamers will find it interesting enough to stick around due to its silly playful nature.

My wife recently got into gaming because of me. So when I saw that one of my favorite childhood games was remade. I had to jump on the opportunity to have her experience a joy that I had as a child. The gameplay and the controller is just like I remember. The added graphics make this a worthwhile experience.

The graphics overhaul this game received is fantastic. While the character models are an acquired taste, as they're different than the original game, I did get used to the new look -- though I do still prefer the original models. Overall, though, this is the same game I remembered but with flashy new visuals. Great game!
