The king of character action game returns. If you're a fan of the older games, you should do yourself a favor and pick the game up. The game is a return to form; it's the same Devil May Cry you always loved but modernized.
By modernized, I'm talking more about the graphics and higher budget production value. The RE engine Capcom used for this game produce some amazing graphics (for the character models), while still keeping the gampelay at a silky 60 fps. My only issue is graphically speaking has more to the art design of the levels. They do feel a bit less varied and could have used a bit more color.
Gameplay wise, the game still reigns supreme. The fact that you play as three characters: Nero, V, and Dante make the game feel very different. Nero and Dante should feel familiar (though Nero's devil breakers are new), but V is completely unlike any other character with his use summoned familiars. Because of how weak he is without his demonic pets, you have to treat him as a range character as oppose to Dante and Nero who are better up close and personal.
Storywise, there's a surprising good amount in DMC5. There's some fan service with some nostalgia if you're a fan of the series with some bosses and enemies reminiscent of earlier games. The game also answers some unanswered questions about the lore and character relations. Some, don't expect everything to be answered. It does end in a satisfying way and playing the game blind is best.
Game can be finished in your standard 10-12 hours with twenty missions (some of are just bosses). I do wish some of the bosses have a bigger intro with dialogue in past games though. However, there's an increased incentive to play through the game again on higher difficulties for unlockables and buying more skills.
If you're new to the series, DMC5 isn't a bad way to jump in despite being the fifth installment. There's a history of DMC video that you can watch in the game to recap what happened in earlier games (story was simple in early games so don't worry). Also compared to other games, I would say DMC5 is easier, but not as dumb easy as DMC2.

Graphics are great
run good ( do need top hardware to be perfect)
Each Character has their own quirks and mechanics you need to succeed. Not too difficult, has accessibility options for those who aren't well versed in stylized action games, but has complexity for those who can handle it.
Story is ... fine, best in series, better than most in its genre, but it more of a hollywood action movie good and nothing to rave about. Scenes are acted very well and the mo-cap action scenes are still worth while.
The Difficulty on harder modes change the placement of enemies and provide a good incentive to see if you can handle the the whole arsenal of weapons and moves you earned in the first play through. + some goofy extras on harder level completions

After over a decade of silence, the original Devil May Cry series has returned, and is just as stylish and action-packed as ever.
Featuring 3 characters, returning favorites Dante and Nero, along with newcomer V, the variety of action and demon-slaying is more varied than ever before. From Dante's 4 switchable styles, Nero's new Devil Breaker robot-arms, and V's trio of summoned beasts, each character will demand skill to master their unique forms of play. The RE engine (featured in RE7 and the RE2 remake) brings the action to life with stunning visuals and smooth 60fps.
The story brings an end to the nearly 20 year old franchise, bringing together several pieces of extended media from the 12-episode anime from 2007, and several books, DMC5 is a love letter to the hack-and-slash franchise's long lineage of demon-hunting action. Nero seeks revenge for the loss of his Devil Bringer arm, Dante has a personal score to settle, and the mysterious V knows far more than he lets on.
Music is once again a blend of orchestral soundtracks with bits of rock and metal for good measure that suit the three characters across their shared journey through the city of Red Grave and the twisted demonic tree where the villain resides.

After playing the last Devil May Cry game, I was slightly disappointed with the changes introduced by Ninja Theory. I did enjoy the combat and the weapons, but the characters, story, dialog, and general feel we’re lacking. This game brings it all right back to where they left off in DMC 4! I’m so happy to have the DMC spirit alive and well. The characters, story, and dialog so far are exactly what I expect from a Devil May Cry game. Combat mechanics are on point and the new devil breakers are already adding a new dynamic to combat. Can’t wait to play more!

Devil May Cry 5 has been long anticipated and at some point in the development history may not have happened after the less-than-stellar reception of DMC a reboot of the series Devil May Cry 5 seem like little more than a pipe dream yet I was stunned when it was announced and elated when I came to pick it up it is better than expected the story is gripping and compelling the game play is stylish and exciting I cannot do anything more than recommend everyone play this game

It's been 11 years since DMC4 came out and DMC5 was worth the wait. The action gameplay is outstanding across all 3 playable characters. The graphics are right there with the best of them, and the game has a fantastic rock/dance soundtrack as you are killing demons. Also the deluxe edition is worth it just for the live action cutscenes and Mega Man's mega buster arm.

I've played every DMC game and this one slots in nicely as a continuation of everything the series has done well. Smooth, fast gameplay mechanics with just enough story to keep you going. If you liked the others then you'll love this one. Keep racking up the SSS ranks!

The Devil May Cry series has been a long running series, one that arguably has defined many facets of the character-action hack-and-slash genre, but also a series that we unfortunately haven't seen much of for years at least in terms of anything new. That now changes with the release of Devil May Cry 5 which brings just about everything of what everyone loved from the original Devil May Cry games and adds so much more. Beyond just the solid gameplay that DMC is known for, this title also boasts some of the most impressive graphics seen on a video game to date, every character being incredibly detailed and animated and placed over stunning settings. The story is also just as fantastic, catering to longtime fans of the franchise while also including a brief enjoyable video that brings newcomers up-to-speed. No matter which of those you fall under, this title is easily a must-buy.

It's been a long time since we've gotten a proper Devil May Cry game. Part 5 is here and it scratches that itch. Very fun combat and new weapons and moves to mix up the gameplay make this a great sequel. Story is actually good too!

After the release of DmC (the reboot), I didn't think we would get another proper sequel to this amazing series. I'm glad I was proven wrong.
This game is amazing. The characters, the story, and especially the gameplay. The combo routes are so complex that I'd say they would rival a fighting game. Every attack feels weighty, and Capcom definitely perfected DMC's gameplay this time around.
If there was one negative thing I had to say about the game, it would be that I felt it was a bit too short. Multiple playthroughs are indeed encouraged though, as there are a plethora of new things to try out when you complete the game the first time.

+ Dante literally has everything plus the kitchen sink
+ Nero’s Devil Breakers add more depth to his moveset
+ V is more of an acquired taste, but I enjoyed his sections
+ The story is actually pretty good & pays homage to existing DMC lore
+ The extras of the Deluxe Edition are legit worth it
- The level design can get a bit dull at times
- I wish Lady, Trish, & [SPOILER] were playable (DLC could rectify this)
This is easily my game of the year right now & has finally dethroned DMC3 as the best game in the series.

For the newcomers amongst you, Devil May Cry 5 does expect you to be familiar with a wide range of characters and the series’ past mythology, but that isn’t to say it’s hard to follow. It’s a simple tale of good and evil battling it out, and the ‘History of DMC’ option in the main menu does an exquisite job of helping potential newcomers get up to speed.

This is a great add on to the DMC series. While it is very slow in the beginning, while it teaches you all the new moves, the game surely picks up speed. I love that I also get to have stages with the other main players of the game. Changes it up a bit and makes a normal platformer game more fun. Definitely get this if you are a devil may cry fan.
