This movie was actually a lot better than I expected, and had some hilarious moments. I can relate to some of the things that happened to Greg. I have not read the book, so I couldn't compare it. 12 year old Greg Heffley is nervous about starting middle school. Him and his dorky best friend, Rowley Jefferson try to fit in and become popular, but that's easier said than done. Throughout the school year, Greg and Rowley come up with weird ways to become popular like being a Safety Patrol officer, wrestling, and performing in epic school plays. In order to truly appreciate this film, you either need to be a parent, or think from the perspective of a kid. I highly recommend DIARY OF A WIMPY KID!!!

As I wrote in my previous review: "The stories are a great way to capture children's attention, keep them focused, and leave them wanting more. In a digital age where kids prefer playing games on tablets rather than expanding their reading and study skills, this series helps because it will most probably make them want to read the source material that the video is based on. A great investment in their lives, it is!"

I seen the previews for this movie a while back and my oldest daughter told me she wanted to see it. I told her that I thought it looked silly, but I ended up renting it at first and we watched it and I loved it! I thought is was the perfect growing up movie for my daughter who is getting close to that age. I then bought this movie and the 2 that followed it!

My kids love this movie they keep watching it again and again. Jokes are not crude but appropriate for grade school kids or younger. There are good lessons to learn. Friendship and sticking up for your friend is one of them.

Diary of a wimpy kid is nice movie for teens and your kids will love it because it's all about being in school and getting through it and and bullies in dealing with Brothers

My son reads the book and he's 7 years old and really enjoys them! We didn't think the movie would be that good but it certainly was!!! This is a great family movie and pretty funny!

Surprisingly, this is the weakest entry of the Wimpy Kid trilogy, with some cringey moments with Chloe Grace Moretz. Still has a lot of laughs though.

All of the Wimpy kid movies are great. They stick pretty close to the books. These are great movies for kids, showing the realities of growing up in a humerous light.

Kid favorite, family enjoyed. Can't beat bluray picture and story line for summer fun.

Bought this to add to a charity basket to raffle. Didn't pay too much and I have heard it was good. Worked perfect in the basket with some microwave popcorn.

My son just finished the book. This adaptation is almost identical to the source material. The Story teaches kids to stop being self centered and appreciate your friends for who they are.
