    You always need a second battery when taking hundreds of pictures or shooting video. It always happens when you don't have a backup battery, that you run out of battery life just at the wrong moment.

    I got this battery as a second battery , the charging time is very short , still haven't used it yet, so nothing to complain about ....the price was good when with package deal

    I bought a spare battery with my new camera so when I travel I can have plenty of battery. Good thing. The battery that came with my camera doesn't hold a charge very long. Glad I had a spare.

    only discharged/recharged this a few times now. seems to last about as well as the original battery. will have to see how it lasts long term. original battery lasted almost two years.

    If you purchase the Canon SX 40HS, you MUST have an extra battery (or two) on hand and ready to use. They don't hold a charge for very long.

    Fits camera, and charger. It has not blown up, so that is good. It seems to hold about 80% of the charge of the Canon one.
