According to reviews the original battery for the camcorder is not very good. I never had the original battery to compare to but this one is doing the job so far.
I would recommend this to a friend

Said it would work with my Sony video camera. It fit and it would power it on for about 1/2 second and then an incompatible battery message would flash and it would shut off
No, I would not recommend this to a friend
