I've had that issue before with dust busters from years past so I was upset to see that this issue still has not been solved. If you ever come across a small vac that has a battery that lasts several years, please let me know.

Battery got weak and needed recharging after short time of use. Am reluctant to leave anything plugged in and charging all the time for fear of fire. It would be nice if filters were available from Best Buy or the manufacturer.
