This won't be much a review of the game itself, rather this specific edition of it. The Royal Protector bundle comes with the limited edition of the base game, which includes digital codes for the first 'Dishonored' on PS4 and the Imperial Assassin's Pack for 'Dishonored 2.' The expiration dates on each code have already passed, but I redeemed mine without any problems. The game comes in a standard PS4 case, which is wrapped in plastic. But there is a steelbook besides, and it is not the same as the steelbook which comes with the collector's edition. That version's steelbook features a close-up of Kaldwin's face on the front and Corvo's on the back. This version's steelbook has the same image as is on the back of the standard PS4 case, of Kaldwin sitting on the throne and Corvo beside and behind her, only isolated from any other images. The back of this steelbook is just the same image re-used. It also comes with a book, titled 'Corroded Man', written by a novelist who uses the name Adam Christopher. I've never read any of his other work, to be honest, but I thought 'Corroded Man' was good, worthy of the 'Dishonored' name. Admittedly, it does highlight how the extremely fun gameplay of the 'Dishonored' series masks some of the lacking areas in terms of narrative. But it should be an enjoyable read to anyone who enjoys novels and wants more from this universe. The book is in paperback form and a little over 350 pages long. A keychain in the shape of Corvo's mask is also included. A simple thing, but I've begun using it for my own keys and it's nice to show off my fandom with something that is practical. All of this is housed in a thin paper box, which has essentially the same design as what is featured on the standard case. I would also like to state for the record that the box mentioned above arrived damaged in my case (and I'm including pictures). I'm assuming this is part of the reason several of these special editions have been going on sale, since each one I've ordered has arrived like so, despite no damage to the boxes they arrive in. I wish Best Buy would be upfront about this, but they're still great deals. Overall, I don't know if I can recommend this enough. 'Dishonored 2' quickly became one of my favourite games, I played it again and again in quick succession. If you love it that much or haven't yet picked it up but think you want to, this price for this edition is a tough deal to top. Definitely worth the plunge, in my eyes.

The condition of the exterior Packaging was terrible and impossible to consider a collector's item. Two games should come with this but as of May 1st 2017 the Dishonored Definitive Edition code is void. Considering the heavy damage and the fact that one third of the product has been void for over a year I feel there should be emphasis on these facts. The price is not unreasonable as Dishonored 2 alone costs $20. I'm glad I didn't lose any money with shipping cost.

Was planning on buying both dishonored 1&2 for new consoles when i found this package. Got both games for a steal of a deal, a book thats a decent size and a keychain of corvo's mask. The only thing i didn't like about this whole package is that the keychain is solid so u have to put it on a 2nd one anyway.

First off, I got this on sale for around $35 so that is taken into account when awarding 4 stars. Also, mine arrived with some outer packaging damage, so as a collector that is also taken into account. The games themselves (this includes a digital download of the first Dishonored game on Playstation Network as of this review) are very innovative and fun to play. If you are into adventure/stealth-action and just a unique experience then you will find these games to be enjoyable. The digital download is somewhat large at 32.5 gigabytes, but that is expected from quality download offerings. Also comes with some bonus DLC for Dishonored 2. The steelbook is nice, I'm a fan of steelbooks. It's nothing special, however. It has the matte texture to it and isn't very colorful. Mine arrived mint, and it is included inside the packaging (not just thrown in the shipping box as an extra) I haven't read the novel, but it is a full fledged paperback novel, not just a tiny comic, etc. The keychain looks cool as well, it has some weight to it and is made of a metal. I'm not sure what I'd rate this if i'd paid the full $75-80 asking price, I feel it isn't worth that amount of coin. But at the $35-40 range it is well worth it if you are a fan of the series or the genre. I probably would have given 5 stars based on my own experience if the outer packaging weren't damaged upon receipt.

Bestbuy quality handling pathetic, damaged package

So cheap for what you're getting. The Steelbook has a wonderful design. The keychain is high quality (and heavy!). The book... Uh I might read it one day, maybe lol. And of course the game is on point, the DLC code says it's expired but it still works (though the code for Dishonored Definitive Edition doesn't work anymore sadly). Great deal for so cheap!

***This review is exclusively about the condition of the package mailed to me & the contents inside the box of this bundle. I haven't played the game itself due to a backlog I have so for gameplay reviews, you should read other persons' critiques.*** If you buy special editions of games and want to keep the box or packaging as fresh as possible, it is best to pick it up at the store. The package I received was in a bag, so the box itself was not in pristine condition. It is not too horrible but it is noticeable enough. This bundle was not available in my area to pick up at the store. Besides that issue, what is in the bundle is pretty good. There's a cool looking keychain of what looks like Corvo's mask. It has a nice hefty weight to it as well. There is also a 300+ page novel that has limited distribution and a nice looking steelbook. It finally has the definitive edition of the first game to play again or for the first time with the imperial assassins pack. If you're interested in the game (& reading) then this pack might be for you; especially if you find it on sale.

Fantastic game for the price. And the bonus items were an even better surprise. Love the steelbook, novel and key chain. The only disappointment I have is the DLC inside the game were all expired. Wish I would of went with xbox as those codes are still active.

The limited edition includes a nice, heavy keychain that looks great. The paperback novel is also a great read. I started out replaying the first game by way of the code included to download the definitive edition of the game. Then I read the novel, which takes place 15 years later, shortly before the beginning of the sequel game. Dishonored 2 fixes all the things I didn't like about the original while retaining all the parts that worked so well. It looks amazing. The painterly aesthetic is still there, but so much more detailed and colorful.

This is a great game The steelbook is nice and the keychain and novel are great.The code for Dishonered definitive edition was expired so i kinda feel cheated.Best Buy should change the the product page to reflect that.

I LOVE this game, the story is phenomenal and I love how you can play it over again and never get the same gameplay twice. The only complaints I have are small things, like one major bug I've noticed is sometimes I'll be playing and then I'll get a blue screen telling me the game crashed and then I have to restart it and it goes back to normal. Its happened enough for me to mention it but not enough to ruin the game. It might just be my disc, but otherwise it's a great game! I know Skyrim had the same issue when the world has large sandboxes, and Dishonored 2 is one of those games where you could think you've explored every inch and then find a room you never knew was there. In this you get to play as Emily or her father, Corvo. I recommend players choose Emily first and go from there, because playing as her and Corvo offers vastly different experiences between dialogue, character interaction, and even plot to an extent. I'm just wrapping up playing with Corvo on my second run of the game and just couldn't recommend it any more than I am now.

Fantastic sequel to one of the best first-person shooters, I bought this for the nice extras- a download code for the first remastered game (which has now expired for anyone buying this bundle now), a fill-length novel, and a keychain.

Really good game. If you enjoyed Dishonored 1, you will especially like this game. Very good story and good graphics. It is cool that you can pick either Emily or Corvo to play as. The game is a little short, but there is a lot of variety to the gameplay and the game has high replay value.

The first Dishonored was a blast, a great story with how you played reflected in the world; although Dishonored 2 isn't any worse than the first it doesn't feel that much better either. If you enjoyed the first you're more than likely going to enjoy this one, if you weren't a big fan then 2 won't change your mind.

Absolutely amazing bundle. Great value. Amazing game. The steelbook is gorgeous, the keychain is heavy, and so awesome. Haven't read the book yet, but can't wait to. Another great addition to my collection.

After receiving the item and taking it out of the packaging to find the box for the bundle to be severely damaged, without even breaking the seal I returned it and ordered another one, assuming this was an isolated incident. Nope. When I received the second one, this box was even more damaged than the first, and when I broke the seal to actually examine the contents, I found that the code for Dishonored 1 had expired in May 2017 and the Dishonored 2 DLC codes expired in November 2017. This being December 2017, those codes aren't worth the paper they're printed on. Unless you're interested in the keychain, collector's game case and book, just buy the regular edition of the game. With the money you save you can pick up the DLC or Dishonored 1.

I purchase this phenomenal master piece to not only play the game but to enjoy the story behind it. I bought it during Deal of the Day with $20 off the original price and also with BB gamer underground 20% off it was brought down to around 43 bucks plus tax then equal to 46 bucks. Saved me around 32 bucks. With it you get a corvo mask keychain and a noval reading book which is nice. Not that anybody now and days have time to read. I think the only big plus is the Steel Game Case that came with it. Exclusive to Best Buy online. Played the first one, now comes the second one. I dont mind the graphics, but the gameplay is fun. If you are those patient and stealthy type of players. Overall i am happy with my purchases as it may or may not collect dust.

This game takes place in a fictional 1850's european type city. While not a totally open world game, most areas of the game are at least somewhat open to explore. The story, gameplay and graphics are good. This game isn't the most popular or advertised games out there but is a solid and fun game to play especially if you get a good deal on it.

This game beats Dishonored in almost every way, and has some of the most creative level design you'll ever play in a game. Whether you like stealth or action, this game offers both, with various ways to tackle every level/mission. So much fun, multiple playthroughs to experience all styles, to lots of replayability. 5 stars!
