This is a top of the line game for an incredible price! The game has a great story line with plenty of action and a slew of weapons and powers at your disposal. It is difficult to get bored playing the different stages of the game. I can honestly say it's the best $12 I've ever spent, but this game is worth it even at a $50 cost! Don't think about it. If you love FPS'S you will love this game!

The story is pretty decent. Game play is challenging without being incredibly frustrating. The powers are where this game really stands out. Manipulating rats and telephoning are some of my favorites. My only complaint is that I am not getting sucked in as much as I had expected. Worth looking into even if you are not big into stealth.

This is probably my favorite game I have played this year. Dishonored is a mix between a stealth action and a RPG game. In the game you play as Corvo Attano, a ex-bodygaurd turned assassin. You will go through (if you get the game) 9 very intricate, very well thought out levels. Each one will take you around 1-3 hours to complete, depending on how you play the game. Throughout the game you will be given choices on how to take out your target. This is where the game really shines. In Dishonored, you can take your target out by sneaking around the until you catch him/her all by him/herself and assassinate them that way, or you can just bust through the front and shoot anybody that tries to stop you (not the only two ways, just examples). If you can think up how to complete the mission, you can do it. This gives the game a huge replay value. The story itself can take anywhere from 12 - 24+ hours to complete which, while it is a long campaign, seems really short. This is counteracted by the fact that you can/will replay the levels just to see what other different ways you can kill your target, if you so choose... Summery: Good: Storyline was good, Great gameplay, Great replay potential, Graphics are pretty cool, and it is legendary! Bad: Seemed short

I really love this game. I admit that flat-out. I love this game as someone who enjoys well-crafted characters in a well-crafted world. If you play video games for the story, characters, and general exploration, then go for it. This is an excellent buy that I highly recommend. If, however, you play this game to test your own skills, or for game mechanics and such, Dishonored could be a bit of a toss-up. You'll either really enjoy the multitude of pathways and solutions, and the mass of fun and interesting powers, or you'll be disappointed by the short, somewhat predictable plot, and potentially straightforward nature of the game. (It doesn't have to be straightforward, but you can make it that way.) Dishonored is a fine game. I recommend at least a play-through for any gamer. But this is also a game where you could probably stand to wait for the price to drop.

This game is a must have for any fan of the stealth action genre. The graphics and gameplay are top notch. You get tons of different weapons and powers. The only issue is that there are times when the framerate slows down. I've heard that it's not as big an issue on the PC version and is more of a console issue. Other than that, I highly recommend Dishonored. If you want some added game bonuses, go for the Game of the Year edition.

This game excels on so many levels. The story is both fresh and excellent. The controls and movement are second-to-none. The stealth aspect allows for one of the best covert operating protagonists in all of videogamedon. Likewise, a run-n-gun approach works well without being overwhelming (as most stealth games become). Easily one of my top ten games of all time.

I was very surprised when I started playing this game the graphics are very nice run smooth nice color very good controls and fun to play. I've only made it half way through so far but it's one of those games where you progress with upgrades n perks really keeps my interest. The game is cheap to buy right now but still would have paid the 60.00 If I knew it was this good when it came out.

To Stealth or Not To Stealth

The basis of this game is you're a framed man trying to find the guy who framed him. It's as cliched as anything else you've seen or played. The interesting aspect is you don't have to kill. On default difficulty, neither style (High Chaos with many kills and detections, or Low Chaos with few) is very difficult. If you're on the fence about stealth games, give this a try as you can always branch out and go guns blazing after a few power ups. The levels are all loosely the same. After meeting at the hub, the Hound Pits Pub, you'll be assigned a target and carted off to confront him/her. You're able to kill the target outright, such as stabbing him or using one of your powers like Whirlwind to knock him to his death, or you can subdue him and get credit for a non-lethal take down. In this regard, the story can be interesting when others offer you a non-lethal way to handle the target. One target was a set of brothers who ran an slave mine. One fellow in the game offered his own justice for the non-lethal route: he'd capture them, shave their heads, cut out their tongues, and force them to work in one of their own mines! The non-lethal path is generally more time consuming, but I found it fun. Much more enjoyable though is my second playthrough where I'm no longer concerned about being detected. I am free to charge headlong into confrontations and use whatever force I deem necessary. It's fun slinking about the map, teleporting to ledges, crawling beneath tables, or even possessing a rat to run through an even smaller opening to make it to your goal undetected. There are a few gadgets to buy, mostly to improve your offensive weapons like crossbow or pistol. Taking down enemies with non-lethal sleeping bolts from the crossbow feels like an accomplishment, especially considering you need to grab the sleeping target and stash him somewhere so no one stumbles upon him. The game is moderately short, about 15 hours, but it'll take longer if you're constantly reloading to try and get a perfect run through. Overall I think Dishonored is quite fun, though I'd suggest buying it once it reaches $40 or so. I'd think everyone would want to play through twice, getting each ending (High or Low Chaos) to see how the story plays out.

I enjoy a good first person action shooter, and a detailed RPG, so my taste in games is not restricted to one style. I enjoyed the gameplay of Dishonored, and the fact that you can use stealth or a number of methods to accomplish the same task. You can actually replay levels over and over and find multiple ways to break into buildings, take out targets etc. One down side for me is the occultist and magic mumbo jumbo. I don't know why, but starting with Wolfenstein 3D, and Doom, occult symbols and weird stuff has been crammed into video games. I'm just not into it. There are many ways of displaying creativity without trotting down the path of neo satanic symbolism. I'm not a fan. If you can look past the weirdness, you'll probably enjoy the game. If that kind of stuff bothers you, you should probably pass.

I had been curious about Dishonored for a while because it had received such rave critical reviews and since I am a confessed addict of Bethesda's other recent smash hit, Skyrim. I balked at the ~$60 price at release but I found this title on sale recently as a Game of the Year Edition for under $20 so I figured I'd give it a whirl. Love the story line and appreciate that the player's choices influence the end game. I have logged some fairly serious hours so far and haven't beaten it yet but I know I will be playing it through again to try to find all the hidden bonus items - and ratchet up my stealth play. Overall, I'd say this is a fairly well-put-together title for anyone into sneaking and puzzle-solving.

A nice steampunk type environment. Story of revenge for frame up was OK. The ability to have many different ways to complete missions was appealing. Game was short, wish there were more story missions to build to climax or available sidemissions for supporting characters that con influence story route and outcome.

This game got a lot of critical praise, which was what first made me aware of it. After playing it I can state it did not disappoint. I enjoyed this game, in fact I'm not done playing it. I don't have as much time as I'd like to play games, so that forces me to only buy and play what I believe to be the best games out there. It also means that often I don't get around to picking up a game until it has been out for a bit. However, one great benefit to that is I end up buying games for far less than I would the day they're released. I believe I bought this game for $8, which was a great deal, but even at $20 I believe this game is worth it.

I'm getting close to 40, am not a gamer and I'm loving this game. A lot of love went into this one, oil painting-esque graphics (whole game is like an oil painting) and it seems more geared towards an older audience - rather than 14 year olds. This one is up there with Half Life and Bioshock. Thank you Bethesda for NOT screwing the single player experience by diverting resources away from the single player to focus on a very unneeded multiplayer.
