    Perfect Except The Battery

I purchased the Phantom 4 with two extra batteries with the idea I would charge the spares off my cigarette lighter while I'm still flying......What's keeping me from charging off my truck is how how the batteries get and how long it takes them to cool off so I can charge them.......Buying additional batteries might be a better option if they weren't so much to purchase.....Excepting the batteries, there are no real complaints...... It's recovery (on the rare occasion the obstacle avoidance doesn't work) is impressive......I accidentally hit a branch about 3 feet off the ground going fairly fast and the drone managed to recover it's balance before it hit the ground..... The propellers (while they're not completely indestructible) are surprisingly resilient..... The noise catches the attention all 10 cats, 6 horses, and 4 dogs but doesn't make them run away or act like they want to play with it....

I actually purchased this drone for an aerial mapping job I started that needed an efficient, long flight time VTOL system that had good GPS geotagging directly on the photos captured. Other systems I've used capture photos with a good camera but have to be geotagged independently through another process. Other GoPro based drones either can't or don't do a good job of triggering the GoPro for automated mapping jobs. GoPro photos are also not ideal for mapping as they distort the image at high resolution setting or capture lower resolution that don't distort. Not the Phantom 4 - it has a great built-in camera that does not distort the image even on the highest resolution. Outside of the automated mapping apps the DJI Go app does a great job easily allowing control of the drone systems as well as detailed, fine control of the camera settings. Great for photographers that need more access to camera control than the GoPro allows. Some great safety features including the forward facing collision detection and ease of use make this system really powerful and a good value for the money.

i bought this drone for my 13 year old son who has been flying quad copters for a couple of years. It was a a leap for me because of the price point, but this drone was worth every cent thanks to the automated flight control, and the collision avoidance system. Though already a pro at quad copters, my son found this one very easy to fly, and the on-board sensors keep it from crashing head-on into a tree, wires, a cliff, etc. The footage from the drone is crisp and sharp and the details of each video pop of the screen of his 4K monitor and my 4k Samsung TV. WELL WORTH THE MONEY>

I was nervous about flying a drone for the first time, especially with this price tag! It was super easy to set up and fly right out of the box. Once it lifts off it will hover until you tell it to move. I stayed low and close to the house as i learned the controls but within minutes I was flying blind using only the camera as a visual flight reference. Take the time to read the info and don't assume it will do everything as advertised without tweaking your settings. Different flight modes = different features. way cool!

My wife bought me a smaller drone for Christmas and the reviews for this drone were all positive. Although the more I researched drones I knew I needed to get a drone that could do more than follow me around. I ended up getting the Phantom 4. I spent all my free time reading and watching videos on how to fly my new drone. I finally flew my new drone and let me tell you this was an awesome experience. I got pictures and videos that were amazing. It was so easy flying my new drone. I know I have a ton more to learn but flying my drone in beginners mode was plenty for my first flight. I can not wait to get this drone at the beach!?

I am very pleased with this drone. It is very simple to set up and get ready to fly. There are also numerous YouTube video's about taking it out of the box and using the first time....I would highly recommend doing this. The black drone has advantages and disadvantages. In the direct sky it is easier to see, but when you are lower than the tree line, the drone blends in compared to the white drone. There are downloads and firmware updates that must take place before you can fly, so plan on at least 30 minutes to get completely set up. Buy an extra battery, 25 mins is just not long enough when you go to fly.

Very nice high quality professional drone. Advanced technology for collision avoidance but only from the front. Good for flying in open areas. Not as compact as the Mavic though. Great camera and high quality 4K video. Battery life only supports around 28 minutes.

This drone is easy to fly and to learn on. It has different flight modes for the novice or the experienced flyer. What is really great about this Phantom 4 is the home button. If you loose sight of it or just confused hit the home button and it'll return to you. So simple. There is so much you can do with this. Also what is wonderful about this drone is the 4K camera. It really take wonderful pictures. You'll really love the videos and pictures you take with this.

After doing my research I decided on the Phantom 4 based upon the advertised features. I have not been disappointed. It flies very stably, and takes great pictures and Video. I'm using it with an IPad Mini 2, and have experienced zero issues. It has been tested in conditions down to 5 degrees F, which is beyond the recommendations in the Phantom Documentation. If I had any complaints, it would be with the documentation which is sketchy in places, especially regarding the remote control App . Still once you get the idea most operations are fairly straightforward.

This quad is amazing! In the past, I had only flown toy and hobby quads. It seemed I crashed, almost, as much as I flew. I was a bit nervous flying something this expensive. My fears disappeared with my first flight. This thing is incredibly stable. The wind doesn't seem to be a problem. The videos are incredible! As long as you are flying foreward (at least in P mode), it is almost impossible to run into anything. I have flown about a dozen flights, now, with a whole lot more to learn. (Udemy has inexpensive courses).

It is very easy to learn how to fly one of these. All the stabilization is built into the software. All you have to do is figure out what direction that you want to fly. The hard part is finding a place to fly that will not violate someone's privacy. I have crashed it a couple of times because I overestimated how close I was coming to tree branches. I replaced the broken propellers and went back to flying. Collision avoidance is good, but it does not pick up dangling branches.

DJI is the best on the market, when compared to other brands of the same size, its faster , more feature rich and easy to fly.

Had to make a snap decision and chose the Phantom 4. No regrets. If using a Droid be sure to Google initial firmware / connecting RC, Droid & Drone. I had to go into Developer mode (tapping something 5 to 7 times on keyboard) and you must start the Drone-RC-Droid based DJI Go app IN THAT ORDER. If better explained by DJI, I'd have had P4 skyborne in hours! Well worth it. Extremely capable, beginner friendly, and rock steady video even in wind gusts.

Flies great, great features, fun to fly. Instructions are nonexistent and video tutorial was not on the app or the web site. Could not download on Android phone even following YouTube instructions. Phantom 4 app downloaded on iPhone wouldn't update the drone, had to use someone else's Phantom 3 app for update and setup. Overall poor experience with setup that took over two hours. Was not plug and play for me.

The drone is fun and easy to fly. I did buy a cheaper drone to practice on before buying this one. It's very stable and the gimbal makes taking video and pictures easy. However, the still pictures quality leave a lot to be desired. The dynamic range is not very good and with only 12mb, the detail is just not what I expected. I exchanged my drone for the Phantom 4 Pro. Great drone for the price if you are not concerned about image quality. it is good enough to posts cool photos online and share with your friends.

I had the Phantom 3 standard then I went and got the Phantom 4 that came with a defective battery that bestbuy replace the next day. Then after a week of reading reviews & doing my research I had to get the Phantom 4 PRO!!! The best choice I ever made!!! The pro is faster with more safety features(Obstacle sensing) & the camera it's as great as it can be... thanks Best Buy & DJI for a wonderful product & sales experience.
