Steven Moffat takes on Charles Dickens' classic tale.. and owns it! Michael Gambon guest stars as the "Scrooge" type character. Yes, DUMBLEDORE is in this fantastic spin on the classic tale. Plus there are flying sharks!! Take that, SyFy! Seriously though, this was probably the most "adult" Christmas special the Who Crew have done in the last 7 years. The storytelling was complex, but not overly so, the acting was fantastic, especially from the supporting players(did I mention Michael Gambon?). It's been reported that showrunner Steven Moffat truly enjoyed writing this episode, and quite frankly it shows. If you haven't seen this episode yet, what are you waiting for? I love Doctor Who and this is my favorite Christmas special. It not only great for the holidays but anytime of the year.

Not only does this Blu-ray disc contain the Christmas episode, it also has a special on the making of the episode plus a video of the BBC Doctor Who gathering at the Royal Albert Hall. Amazing.

I have followed the Dr. Who series for years and enjoy the shows. Unfortunately, I am unable to watch the series on cable so purchasing the DVDs is a great option.

One of my top 5 favorite Doctor Who episodes. This disc is definitely worth the pickup, even if you have Series 6 on Blu-ray already, because this disc includes Doctor Who At The Proms special, which is a really heartwarming concert for Whovians everywhere. Get it today!

I think they did an awesome job in retelling this Charles Dickens classic. What I liked best about it is they didn't stick to the same characters and plot line. They changed it up but were able to still get the the story across.
