Love this game. Everything has been updated and expanded upon. Graphics are better. Speed is great. I love the run-n-gun shooting games. Story is ok, nothing to write home about. But the glory kills are amazing. If you have a PS4 or even Xbox One, download the demo and give it a try. You'll thank me for it later.

A return of one of the greatest Bethesda creations - Doom offers an experience like no other for those who seek a challenging, adrenaline-spiking first-person shooter. Although this is the fourth installment in the Doom series, you do not need to play 1,2,3 beforehand to feel “fulfilled”
With a tasty hardcore soundtrack put together by artist Mick Gordon himself (Wolfenstein, Need for Speed) and the fast-pace campaign, arcade and multiplayer modes you will not feel the need to “take a break” or quite frankly listen to anything else aside from heart-beating drums and slippery guitar riffs during your adventure.

Doom is one of the best first-person shooters ever created. I already own this game on Nintendo switch but I bought it for a PlayStation 4. Best Buy had it marked down!

The original Doom has always been a classic that withstood the test of time. People still play the original to this day for it's fast paced action. This modernization of Doom keeps that fast paced gory action the original had and does it in style. Can't recommend this game enough.

Okay, so this has to be reviewed as two separate games. The solo campaign which is amazing and the multi-player which is horrible.
The solo campaign has great graphics, awesome metal music that kicks in right when you want it, great level design, and nostalgic feel. It's everything you remember of Doom but updated. It alone is worth price of admission and a must have for first person shooter fans.
The multi-player is horrible, the graphics are lame, the level design is half-assed, and it just feels tacked on. Some will argue that it is a perfect port and feel of the classic, but I just think it's bad.
Either way, buy this game, even if just for the campaign.

Doom is a reboot of the Doom franchise and it succeeds very well. The single player campaign is amazing and runs around 12 hours or so if you explore and also find all the upgrades, collectibles, and side missions. Performance wise, the game moves as such as smooth, silky 60 fps, while delivering crisp graphics. Glory kill animations are satisfying and when combined with the high pulsing soundtrack, it really amps up the adrenaline. Weapons are useful and you're encouraged to use many of them instead of just sticking to one.
Multiplayer is lackluster(it plays slower than the single player campaign), but the map building functionality is pretty cool.

The best part of this game is that it stays true to its roots. The campaign is really good and the graphics are great. The addition of having carrying 2 weapons is nice. Multiplayer is good, but nothing new outside of your typical FPS online experience

Literally the best campaign in a FPS I've seen in years. Combat is fast-paced and exhilarating in the best way possible. Don't get too distracted looking at the amazing graphics or hunting down secret rooms because if you're standing still in this game you're demon fodder. Multiplayer is here too, but it's the only part of the package that disappoints as it feels generic next to the amazing single player offerings. Bottom line, if you're a fan of classic Doom and are tired of the same ol' COD-style shooters these days give this game a look.

This is a good time to be a FPS fan. There's been a renaissance of sorts with current-gen where multiplayer used to come first, single player stories and fun second... The script has been flipped with the revivals of both Doom and Wolfenstein: the New Order. (Heck, Wolfenstein has NO multiplayer at all, and is oh, so much better for it!)
While Wolfenstein focused primarily on story-telling, Doom hits the ground with "fun first, and immediately" as its mantra, and, like Wolfenstein, is now one of the two FPS games I simply won't entertain the idea of ever trading in.
Unlike Doom 3, which was met with mixed reviews, but undoubtedly agreed upon that it signified a change in the series, Doom goes back to what made the first two so great and so re-playable... Wave after wave of demons, mass firepower, ammo, health, and power ups galore, and the unapologetic feeling of glee of just plunging headfirst into battle.
Everything about Doom is just a throwback not only to greatness, but to an originator of the entire FPS genre, except where it matters: graphics, sound, and the mild improvements to gameplay that keeps a series moving forward. It doesn't make the same overall changes to Doom that Doom 3 tried to, making it feel like a different game altogether using a license to characters; no, it returns to its roots wholeheartedly, and in my opinion, is a much better game for it. For lovers of the first two games, original levels are hidden in each new level, begging to be found and added to your collection to go back and play for nostalgia's sake later.
Don't hesitate on this- and if you haven't played Wolfenstein, order or pick that up from Best Buy, as well, along with its standalone, Old Blood. The folks at id/ Bethesda have given us two absolutely FUN games to play that pack more freshness than the past decade of Call of Duty has. Support is needed to ensure we keep receiving these types of FPS that place emphasis on a single player experience that, at minimum, matches the fun of multiplayer.
With the announcement that id/ Bethesda is also reviving Quake, we can only hope it marks the full return of the 3 biggest players of FPS that I grew up with. After playing these first two, Quake will be a no-hesitation purchase, for sure.

I heard that this game was good through reviews and friends, but I never thought that I'd enjoy it. I was utterly wrong. This game is absolutely fantastic at everything that it does, and I loved every minute of it. Everything flows together beautifully - the multiple upgrade systems allow for fun and challenging ways to improve weapons and armor, and the levels are packed with secrets and collectibles. I would recommend this game to anyone who is into any kind of shooter - though it can be quite challenging at times.

Did you grow up in the 90's? Do you remember countless nights playing DOOM and DOOM 2 on your family computer? Does IDDQD and IDKFA mean anything to you? If you answered yes to any of these questions then do yourself a favor and pick this game up. It's like old school DOOM with a new school twist...... And it's an awesome combo. Fun multiplayer and even better campaign........ Did you grow up in the 90's? Then "Just Do It!"

This game is an amazing recreation and reimagining of the original Doom. It has TONS of content and now the DLC is free so it's amazing. This game is an intense fast-paced shooter that is one of the best FPSs available on the console. I really enjoyed this game and there is a ton of content here. I didn't really explore multiplayer, however, it is still active with players. If you like shooters the emphasize the single player experience, look no further than Doom.

If you are looking for a plot there is barely any with out looking through the collectibles but the action and upgrades make up for that. You travel from arena to arena killing everything insight.
