I am loving this game! Great shooter and definitely plenty of meat. There are plenty of secrets to find and some awesome action. Can't speak for multi player but I'm about 10 hours in and in love

The story line is good it's challenging. I like the multi player it's very competitive. The game is very gory and I would not recommend to a younger crowd.

It's been awhile since we've had an amazing single player shooter, but this game finally scratches that itch. The combat is fast and fun, much like the old Doom games.

Doom's solid campaign sits nicely next to its swift-paced multiplayer. The sheer speed of the maps and the small health pools (coupled with player movement a step above most modern shooters) makes for a breakneck pace addictive on the worst of days. Being able to swap weapons quickly in the middle of a firefight makes for some intense shootouts, and getting ahold of the demon drops is nothing short of a power play.

This version of Doom is a blast to play and the graphics look really good on the PS4. I picked this one up during a recent sale and it's worth every penny!

It's kind of hard to tell where in the timeline Doom (2016) takes place. At first it appears to be a remake of the original game story-wise, but then it incorporates some elements from later entries. Whatever the case, all you need to know is that this new Doom lives up to its legacy: It's fast-paced first-person-shooter action where you blast demons to pieces on Mars. This time however, there's a melee combat system where you can finish the enemies off in a gruesome spectacle (think God Of War or Castlevania: Lords Of Shadow 2). This adds a fresh element to the gameplay that was just what the series needed; not only are they fun to watch, but there are multiple ways to take out each enemy (depending on which angle you approach them from). With certain traits applied, you can earn yourself a steady stream of health, ammo, and speed from these melee kills. The only drawback here is that the action may be a little TOO frantic. Most enemy encounters happen in a locked room where you have to take on 10-20 foes at once. There's still plenty of exploration, no doubt–secrets are hidden around every corner–it's just that the gameplay flow seems a tad stilted with enemy encounters being so condensed. It takes some getting used to, but I think long-time Doom fans will find plenty to like with this one. It's not quite as dark and "creepy" as Doom 3, but the crazy action of the original Doom 1-2 is on full display here–albeit updated in a modernized way.

Doom isn't your typical first person shooter. If anything, it brings back classic staples of the genre. You're not going to be weighted down with needless narrative or tutorials on various mechanics. Granted there is a story and it's a serviceable one at that, but that's not the point. The point is you're a man who doesn't like demons, and to rectify that you've got yourself an arsenal of advanced weaponry. How you go about using said weaponry is up to you, but at the end of the day there's going to be a lot fewer demons on Mars. Did I forget to mention you're on Mars? If you're not familiar with the Doom series, yeah, you're fighting demons on Mars in the future. As campy as that sounds, the presentation and visual style of the game is stunning. While the game is fast-paced, you'll definitely notice the detail that went into the level and sound design. There is a multiplayer mode, but that will be up to personal taste if you enjoy playing with others in the competitive game modes provided. There's also a level creation section called SnapMap where you can make your own levels or play others' levels. There's a lot of creativity to be seen there. If you're comfortable with violence and heavy metal, you'll enjoy this game. To state once more, you're fighting demons on Mars in the future. While the protagonist isn't happy about, I'm certain you'll be all the more happy to put his shotgun to good use.

Read lots of great reviews of this game... so I picked it up on the cheap. While it certainly is a lot of fun, I just didn't expect how tough it would be. Could be my play style though; so your mileage may vary.

I love this game on PC, and wanted the pickup and play always available console version, without bothering with updates, re downloads, video drivers etc. Almost matches what I remember playing on GTX 1070 graphically. Controls are different from keyboard and mouse but still one of the BEST FPS and can go back to it to satisfy that FPS itch on occasion.

Had a blast with this one. I never really played any of the other DOOM's but this one was a great play. the guns are great and the speed of the game was great. Story doesn't really matter, just shoot and kill, but that's ok, because the gameplay is that good. A little frustrating at some parts and I had to reduce the difficulty level down a bit in parts., but would buy again

Doom is a tale of two very different shooters (and one quirky creation tool). The single-player campaign's reverent worship of the series' roots results in an old-school run-and-gun shooter which feels like imitation Doom, a cover of an old hit which nails all the right power chords but isn't exactly transformative. The multiplayer's attempts to borrow from the new to reinvigorate the old results in an experience which won't satisfy either school of thought. SnapMap, meanwhile, is a blend of weird and simple and endearing.

I've been waiting for this game for years, and it was well worth the wait. This is game is a non-stop action packed gore fest - just like the original. There are very few scripted events, which leads to great boss fights and enemies that really do change up their strategy. I've only played the multiplayer once but it seemed good. Very reminiscent of the old quake days.

Bought mainly for the campaign. Pretty decent length campaign (about 15 hours). Brutally fun kill system. Can't wait for the sequel.
