The game is great. Love The gameplay love the weapons and the maps are huge. This game really makes you think when it comes to finding all the items to 100 percent each level. If you're a fan of the old ones you'll love this one no matter what.

The newer Doom games have always been fun. Each installment adds new challenges and enemies with a variety of fun weapons to slay demons. The new mech levels and dragon levels are a great new addition. Even though the older music artist Mick Gordon isn't doing the soundtrack for this one, the music still slaps! Highly recommend! Best Buy is also great on shipping!

Doom: The Dark Ages continues to push the boundaries of the Doom saga. The gameplay is phenomenal, and they weren’t exaggerating when they said it makes you feel like a tank. Coming from Eternal, the gameplay is completely different, but it’s still flawless. One thing that will shock you is the sound. I play it in my home theater, and the Dolby is mind-blowing! The guns don’t disappoint; they feel good, look good, and you get many upgrades that make them feel even more powerful. The HDR is not as good as Eternal, but hopefully, they’ll fix it in a future update.

DooM is BACK! You walk amongst the hordes slashing firing and stomping your way through awesomely detailed hellscapes that scream morbid decay and pain! Giant mechs too! Going against skyscraper sized demons slugging chunks of flesh off there demon skulls and smashing your way through buildings oh and add a dragon ....too much , NOPE!! It's all extremely well done! Doom feels like DOOM! LET THE GNASHING BEGIN!!

This was the first ever game I bought to play alongside my new slim PS5 and I've got to say this is the peak of the DOOM series that id software has been working on. It takes all the best parts from the two previous games, that being DOOM and DOOM Eternal, and puts it all together along with having unique weapons and mechanics. The shield saw and parrying mechanic are implemented so well and they synergize with the rest of the arsenal, and the melee combat system is a great way to make up for the melee attack in the previous games being a bit lacking in power (not counting blood punches and glory kills). The levels look great and even though I don't have the pro to admire all the details even further (such as ray tracing) I still do appreciate the level design. They did a good job with the story too! In the two previous games there were cutscenes but you'd have to be reading each codex that you pick up for the lore. But this time the game feels like a movie and though the codex pick ups do exist, they're not necessary to understand what is happening. Overall 11/10. Hoping for some dlc along the way!

From the moment I loaded Doom: Dark Ages, I knew I was in for something special, and it delivered in spades! This game isn't just a prequel; it's a brutal, brilliant evolution of the Doom formula that left me breathless and begging for more. id Software has once again proven why they are the masters of the FPS genre. The shift to a more medieval, yet still undeniably demonic, setting is genius. The new enemy designs are horrifyingly creative, each one a grotesque masterpiece that perfectly fits the darker aesthetic. And let's talk about the weapons! The introduction of the new shield and axe combat adds a visceral, tactical layer to the already satisfying gunplay. Bashing demons with a spiked shield before cleaving them in two with a mighty axe feels incredibly empowering, and the glory kills are as gloriously gruesome as ever. Graphically, the game is a feast for the eyes. The environments are meticulously detailed, from crumbling castles to fiery hellscapes, all rendered with a stunning level of fidelity. The sound design is equally impressive, with a thundering soundtrack that perfectly underscores the relentless action and satisfyingly weighty weapon effects. But where Doom: Dark Ages truly shines is in its gameplay loop. It's a relentless, pulse-pounding ballet of destruction that constantly pushes you to your limits. Every encounter feels like a desperate struggle for survival, yet the controls are so tight and responsive that you always feel in control, even when surrounded by hordes of hellspawn. The new abilities and upgrades feel meaningful, allowing for a satisfying progression that lets you tailor your demon-slaying style. In short, Doom: Dark Ages is a triumph. It's violent, it's visceral, and it's an absolute blast from start to finish. If you're a fan of the series, or just looking for an exhilarating FPS experience, do yourself a favor and play this game. You won't regret it!

I have been playing Doom since it first came out in the 90s. Loved all those titles. Fast forward - I throughly enjoyed the 2016 version. Eternal was good and this new one does not disappoint. Play style is more 2016 and it’s a blast. I appreciate the new elements the developers went with instead of just playing it safe with the same formula. Don’t get me wrong - the premise is the same- wipe out the demons- but the new features are a lot of fun. Can’t decide yet if I like this or the 2016 more but it’s better than Eternal.

Yeah! I wish I had 3 hands... oh wrong game. But this one has some nice back story and play control. I have not gotten to far in to it yet but the different types of weapons are nice with some old and some new. The music has been fitting and an interesting concept on the world the game is set in.

"Doom: The Dark Ages" on PS5 is shaping up to be a brutal and beautiful experience. The game blends medieval aesthetics with the series' signature fast-paced, gory combat. The PS5's hardware allows for stunning visuals, with detailed environments and terrifying demon designs that truly shine. Combat feels weighty and impactful, with each swing of your medieval weaponry delivering a satisfying crunch. The new abilities and weapons add layers of strategy to the gameplay, while the performance on PS5 ensures a smooth, seamless experience, even in the most chaotic battles. If you're a Doom fan, "The Dark Ages" looks set to deliver a fresh and thrilling take on the franchise.

I bought this game for my wonderful boyfriend (he wanted to get it himself but he's done a lot for me so I wanted to treat him!) He really loves the game and franchise, I don't know much about it besides the ACH Isbelle memes (my apologies!), but from the couple of times I've watched him play, the storyline is interesting and the graphics are great:)

Dark Ages was a very good game, but not better than Eternal. The medieval theme is amazing, the Slayer with more equipment, the new shield with the Chainsaw and the new melee weapons. You feel unstoppable with any enemy in the game. In my opinion it was an enjoyable and fun game.
