Only played 38 hrs of it, but from what i played this game is fun, great combat, looks beautiful, & great characters & voice acting, can't wait to dive deeper into the story so far I'm enjoying it & it's in my personal top 10 favorite games I've played in 2024.

This game looks and feels like hogwarts and starwars. The price is too high for what is worth. Political views should not be part of this game. Has nothing to do with the original dragon age story. Of course, EA Sports is behind this.

The game isbetter then most of the online reviews that I have read. Its challenging and with an open field so its very different every time I play. I also love the complexity of the characters and how they interact to move the story forward.

Start with the positives; Graphically the game looks amazing. Runs smooth with barely any stutter or lag. Everything else is negative. The story starts slow and barely improves. Characters are almost entirely void of depth, nuance, or even personalities (sans one). As a long time DA fan I keep hoping for more and leaving with the same feeling of general disappointment. Don't buy unless heavily discounted.

I had a whole thing written out and then my page refreshed, so this will be pretty direct. I waited 14 years for an ok follow up to Dragon Age Inquisition. I have played up to right before the last main quest, so i feel informed enough to comment that the game is beautiful, but feels weird. I did not enjoy the recycling of maps for various side quests. The storywriting has some clunkiness to it. Especially the writing of Taash's character, but also the main story. I cant help but feel that this game is trying to force an agenda... theres a ton on youtube sharing similar opinions, so i wont expound on that. Also, the repeated failures against the villains has been really annoying. Again with Taash, before seeing anything about her, i expected her to turn out as a stoic quinari warrior. Im sure this was to target a certain audience, but the character ended up becoming a huge problem on the internet. The other followers were ok, but some seemed almost steriotypical or plain. A few of the characters i thought were more pleasant including lucanis, the professor, davrin, and bellara was mostly nice (though steriotypically overthinking things as the reserved veiljumper). Romance in this game felt less meaningful than in DAI, and the options are too limited if you dont like any of the characters that much. Anyway in Veilguard, you can say some flirty things, but youre limited on how often you can flirt because the conversation bubbles go away after you talk to people. Again, the character might say meaningful things, but they really dont go into as much depth into the other person (or at least lucanis) as they did in DAI. I wouldve rather worked hard in the romance DAI version than this one. It doesnt feel fulfilling. Last annoying thing was that after the intro scenes, the game was painfully slow in getting into the story and getting the ball rolling. I get helping groups in the game, but it felt like nothing interesting was happening. While i love cutscenes, this game almost felt too excessive on cutscenes literally everywhere. Some quests are literally just having a conversation with someone (rather than conversation then getting started for doing xyz...). I love love love cutscenes, but i also enjoyed how dragonage inquisition saved those for the very important moments. Overall, this game just felt odd the whole time; i said i would play it through to judge for myself how it was. I have to agree with the youtubers, i would have returned this game if i had 30 days to do so.

I've had a blast playing this. There are a lot of options during both character creation and gameplay and I love the companions. Some of the dialogue can be a little clunky, but it tends to fit their personalities so I can't complain. Erika Ishii did an excellent job as one of the voice options for Rook. You can tell they put their heart and soul into the part.

I was hesitant to play this after reading the many negative launch reviews. I have played all the other entire in the series starting with origins and thought this was pretty good over all. It’s for sure action focused, but that’s the direction they have been headed with each new title. I think it’s by far the best combat system in the action focused dragon age games and liked the story well enough. It has cheesy moments and characters not everyone will like but that’s no different than the last few Dragon age games. It looked great, ran great and had plenty of fun moments. Well worth the price. They will never top Origins without going back to a more turn based system. Maybe after the success of BG3.

There has been a lot of hate towards this game and so far I have not seen what all the fuss is about. Sure, some of the dialogue borderlines the equivalent of dad jokes, but there is a sort of charm to that. The game looks and runs great on the PS5 Pro and so far about 15 hours into the game nothing has made me want to stop. I look forward to continuing my journey.

Not perfect, but didn't deserve the hate it got. It's honestly a miracle this works as well as it does based on its horrifically turbulent development. Glad to get this in such a good price!

Not a terrible game, but not really Dragon Age…especially compared to Dragon Age: Origins. Combat is good, story is not great, characters are hit or miss, graphics are good (but not gritty like previous games). If you want a fantasy game, and are bored with BG3, give it a try, but wait until you can get it for $20.

My wait was worth it. While the game isn't the greatest of all time, and I wish there was more to it, there isn't anything that I can really fault too much. The combat was fun and fluid. The visuals were great, especially the environments and character designs. Serious replay value with the various choices you can make. I'm biased, but I loved it, and I only hope we get to see another.

I loved this game as a standalone. It's a B- in terms of the quality of the franchise. The combat is engaging but not overly complicated. The storyline is engaging, if occasionally superficial. The graphics are beautiful. There is very poignant points. Definitely worth replaying again and again to make different decisions.

Dragon Age has been one of my favorite franchises. And this one does not disappoint. I'm about 20 hours into it and I hate to stop when it's time to go to work. Good storyline, great epic battles, just a good time!

As a follow up to the rest of the series, it's mediocre. As a stand-alone game it's okay, and the gameplay itself is a lot of fun. Just wish the people who made this had realized that four games into the series the players are obviously here for the story.
