Gameplay and presentation is wonderful even for those who aren't into DBZ (like myself). If you're a fan of the MVC series then you'll feel right at home with this. HOWEVER, Online has some bugs that need to be cleared up ASAP. It's 2018 and there's no private matches and ring matches (KOTH type game mode) rarely work so don't expect to play with friends online at the moment.

The game looks awesome. Man it's just like the cartoon series. It holds up to the show with screen filling specials and super moves. Only down side is the online play can be a bit Shakey with the servers.

Bringing DB back to a 2D fighter, made by Arc System works is what the series needed. This is a 3v3 fighting game where you can tag fighters in to extend combos. Great game. Better than Xenoverse.

Dragonball games have existed since the SNES but Dragonball FighterZ takes the cake for the biggest and most intricate Dragonball Fighting Game to date. Based on the 3v3 Fighting System pioneered by the MvC Series, Dragonball FighterZ is a take on Dragonball rooted in more classic Fighting Games that hasnt been seen in years. Beautiful graphics, riveting gameplay, fun gamemodes and plenty of unlockables, this game will always leave you hungry for more! Not only should DBZ Fans check out this title, but FGC Fans as well.

This is a great game for Dragon Ball fans and fighting game fans in general. The controls are pretty easy for players new to the genre, and the art style is very true to the real anime.

The art style of this game is just like the anime come to life. It's a great fighter that's similar to the Marvel vs. Capcom games. Simple yet deep fighting mechanics.

It’s been a while since I’ve had a good multiplayer game that I can play with friends at home on the same tv and we’ve been having a blast with this one. The fighting mechanics are easy to learn but hard to master and the character variety is perfect. Also for those interested in single player this has a surprisingly good campaign that feels like a season of the DBZ show with voice acting in English and Japanese. Even if you’re not a big DBZ fan this is still worth checking out for the gameplay alone.

My kids wanted this game for quite some time, and when they finally got it, they were very excited. My children know all the characters especially Goku and Vegita. This game is one of the best out fighting games out, and I would even say that it rivals mortal kombat.

A fighter without super complex controls

Most Japanese 2D fighting games have unnecessary difficult controls during combos. Players must perform 5 dragon punch motions, 3 fire ball motions, and 50 other inputs + timing to perform just 1 string of combo. It's just too much for the average player to enjoy. DBFZ changes this formula by having far simplier combo inputs. It's also a first Japanese 2D fighter that doesn't use the dragon punch motion. The complexity of the game is in the gameplay, not controls, making it far more enjoyable for casual players which are the majority of buyers for any game. All games from all genres should follow this formula. Minus one star only because the game still needs some work on the online lobby system.

I've played my fair share of DBZ games, since I was a kid. Owned every DBZ Budokai (1-3), every DBZ Budokai Tenkaiichi (1-3) and DBZ Raging Blast 2. When I heard DBZ was getting a game, that plays like one of Capcom's many highly regarded fighting game series, Marvel vs Capcom, I was excited. I originally played the series in the arcades in the 90's and on consoles (Sega Dreamcast). If you enjoy DBZ and fighting games like MvC, then you're gonna enjoy DragonBall FighterZ.

First off the game looks great and has a great Anime/3D cross that fits. Each character looks like they should. The only difference you will see is they all look more buff or round. That's just the animation they went with although it doesn't bother me. Game play is on point. Its easy for a button masher and takes time for the devoted player. The combos have to almost be perfect for the high damage. Though the game provides plenty of training and practice modes. I would recommend this game to any DBZ fan or fighting game enthusiasts.

I'm 39 years old, and I have great memories of watching Dragon Ball Z after school 30 years ago. My interest isn't like it was when I was a kid, but when I saw they were putting out a 2D fighter reminiscent of Marvel vs Capcom, I knew I had to play this. I have not been disappointed in this game. It's a great casual fighter with simple enough controls to pull off amazing combos and special moves. I love the little interactions between the characters, so it does quite a bit of fan service. The only fault I would give this game is in story mode it's almost too easy, and there are a lot of fluff fights to fill in the void. It makes the progression of the story mode rather slow. Overall, I love the game, and it makes me feel 20 years younger.
