I have this game for Switch and PS4. It took all the best stuff of the the first one and kept it then it "fixed" the things that were a problem. Online multiplayer is fun, you and a friend can explore each others' creations. I really like making pixel art.

The game is incredibly addictive. I can't stop playing it. It expands on everything that made the original Dragon Quest Builders game so good. Retains the gorgeous and charming Akira Toriyama's aesthetic the grindy JRPG nature of traditional Dragon Quest games.

Way better then the first. Much more to do. Story in the game is good. You have to deal with changing weather which is good. classic monsters to fight. The sidekick you have in here is really helpful through out the game. A must own for any DQ fan.

Bought this for my daughter cause she likes to play Minecraft and I recently played the new Dragon Quest RPG. This is definitely a more challenging game than Minecraft and a lot more reading. It was a challenge for my 7-year old daughter, but she loves playing it, although it requires our help reading some of the text. That said it is educational that way and get her motivated to read more.

Lots of fun so far, and plenty of minutiae to zone out and lose yourself in. It's pretty Minecraft-y, but in the Dragon Quest universe, so if those kinds of things are your bag, you'll probably like this.

Great game, got it cheaper in the ps4 over the switch version. Would have liked it on switch but it often costs double the price. Improves on the original in every way. Mix of jrpg and Minecraft.

I loved the first Dragon Quest Builders and this one is much bigger and has more quests. I bought this for my kids, however, I find myself playing it more than them. Hours and hours of gameplay, you won’t be disappointed!

This is a great example of a game being able to be explorable and functional at the same time, while delivering on an expanded list of chores, buildables, quest styles, and character interactions that make you feel invested in the development of your creations.Where games like minecraft have you build with no sense of accomplishment beyond that of self amusement in single player anyway. This games guides you by giving quests and chores that culminate into building what feels like a community.Frustration can be had with some missions being a bit vague on clarification...but trial and error go a long way into the enjoyment of growing a farm,or making a forest out of desert or mountain land...well enjoyed..

Overall a better game than the first Dragon Quest Builders, but leaves a little bit to be desired. Doesn't line up to the Dragon Quest II story as well as DQB1 did to the first Dragon Quest, until very late in the game. The game does a lot more handholding so its much easier, too, such as providing an AI partner who does most of the fighting for you. Many more construction materials are available though, so once you complete the main story and can build unencumbered by other events there's a lot more you can construct, although there are still some serious limits to scope that sadly weren't increased, such as total room limit still being 100 rooms as it was in DQB1. The online interaction to allow you to view and even visit other people's islands is the real highlight, allowing you to show off to others the things you've made. Main story is 40-50 hours in length but rather easy, and potentially hundreds of hours of play are available after the main story is completed. Good for fans of Minecraft, first Dragon Quest Builders, and similar sandbox building games. Requires teen or adult reading comprehension though due to the presence of townsfolk talking in accents that are potentially incomprehensible to children. PS4 and Switch versions are practically identical, though performance issues such as framerate drops are more prevalent on the Switch.

I love these games! This time around they added features like 4 player coop and fast travel which I don't believe was in the first one. They've also added a lot more items and blueprints which some a very large.
