If you're a fan of the Dragon Quest series you will like it. It has a bit of a slow start with running back and fourth to get the storyline going. Once the story gets going, this is a great game.

I was hesitant to buy this because it's in the middle of the pack as far as being a fan favorite. Yet, this has some of the most poignant storytelling in the series.

Love this series and this game particularly, the changes to the game from the original aren’t bad (love the no random battles aspect)

Dragon Quest VII is among the better games from the series and a portable version is great.
