Some magic never fades
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Innovation in games is talked about a lot, but it's also great to see traditional gameplay formulas that have been around for decades presented exceptionally well. Dragon Quest XI is one of the best modern examples of this; its beautiful presentation, both visual- and story-wise, combines with a tried-and-true gameplay formula for a journey that’s full of heart and soul. Once you find yourself sucked into the world of Dragon Quest XI, it's going to be hard to put down until you reach the grand finale.

Great Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am about 40ish hours into the game and I think it really is fantastic so far. The story line and game play is really good. I have played Dragon Quest 8 and the DQ Heroes that have been released in the USA and this is shaping up to be the best I have played. There is so much to do and explore and I am one of those that really milks the game and spends time grinding to level up. If you are a fan of JRPGs you gotta get this and be prepared to devote a bunch of time to it.

One of the greatest RPGs of all time.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great story, great characters, fun combat, and in depth customization make this a joy to play. This game deserves to be up there with the greats like Persona 5. I have had so much fun playing this for the last 50 plus hours and will probably be playing it for another 50 hours minimum. Do yourself a favor, if you love RPGs of any kind pick this game up. You won't be disappointed, trust me. This receives the highest score possible from me and glowing recommendations.

AWESOME game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been a big fan of this series since I first started to play it. This one is no different than the others before it. It's colorful graphics, eccentric characters, and long story will keep you playing for many hours. It's turn based combat. Has many towns to visit and many different monsters to fight to earn experience and money to buy items. My only regret is that after many hours in, my PS4 erased all of my saves, so have to start over again.

Fantastic
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Absolutely amazing RPG. The combat is a bit basic by modern standards, but Dragon Quest has always kinda leaned toward a more old-school, traditional turn based setup. Great characters, story and music also. It took me 70 hours to complete the main story and there is a good amount more that I didn’t complete. If you own a Nintendo Switch, an enhanced version of the game is coming out soon. I will definitely be picking it up as well.

Good game but just not my taste
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very high quality JRPG, and has just about everything I would want, but its hard for me to get through this game because of my own bias and I knew this when I started it but I just wanted to give this series a try. I don't like full on mid-evil fantasy settings, so I normally avoid every game that uses this setting but I really wanted more JRPGs to play so I picked it up because it looks so good. Everything from scenery, animations, sound, gameplay, difficulty, contents is excellent, but if there is one thing I don't like besides my own bias its the music.

A great experience from beginning to end
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I would have to start by saying that I've been playing the series since the NES days (Dragon Quest 2) so my review is going to be biased simply because of the nostalgia effect. The game has beautiful graphics, a very decent story and great gameplay (classic RPG)the one thing I really loved is the new leveling subsystem which is flexible and allows you to decide where and how you want your different characters to play.

Classic formula in HD
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dragon Quest games have developed a great formula for jrpgs. Being the first episode on a console since the PS2, this one brings a lot of graphical enhancements. It looks great and has the same great music you've come to expect. One thing I found really cool was the way to increase difficulty in the game by adding special rules that prevent escape from fights and other difficulty enhancements.

Excellent game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you've played once of the dragon quest games before you'll know what to expect. Gameplay and graphics are excellent. Story is good so far as well. Interesting set of companions that join your party to do battle with. Battle system is highly configurable with range of options from auto-aggressive to full turn based combat for each companion. Tons of quests and many hours of gameplay.

Awesome experience
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have yet to fully finish this game but it’s a breath of fresh air everytime I go back to it. It takes old school rpg turn based mechanics and beautifully fuses that with graphics and story development of new school games. If you have an RPG itch you need scratched definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a more relaxing slow phased adventure.

Dragon Quest Fans Rejoice
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dragon Quest XI was a really fun game to play through. I like its turn based combat gameplay and its characters were very entertaining. I had a pretty good story with some twists and turns but some parts felt a little slow. It took me about 70 hours to beat this game and I joined my entire time I played it and if you are a turn-based jrpg fans you will too.

A great starting point for newcomers
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always wanted to get into the Dragon Quest series, but never found myself diving into the games--that is, until the 11th installment of Dragon Quest came out. I'm immediately thrown into a new yet familiar looking world thanks to artist Akira Toriyama--famed illustrator of the Dragon Ball series. There's quite of lot of places to see and new characters to meet. Gameplay-wise, it's a very traditional turn based JRPG. Random encounters are a thing of the past! While in the overworld, I can run, ride, and helm my way around an area all without getting into a monster battle. However, when I do find myself in encounters, it's all familiar territory--some battles even providing a good challenge. The dialogue can be a bit cheesy and the accents seem to tire after a while, but it's charming. Can't wait to play more!

Best Dragon Quest Yet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was wondering when they would get back to basics on the Dragon Quest series and it finally arrived in the form of DQ11! Fantastic graphics and gameplay coupled with an amazing storyline was enough to suck up all my free time for the past couple of weeks. If you're a fan of Dragon Quest / Dragon Warrior and of RPG's in general, grab and copy and start playing!

Great Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have never played a Dragon Quest game before but heard only glowing reviews about the previous ones. Decided to give this one a try and the combat takes a bit of getting use to. I would have been thrown off if it weren't for Pokemon in my earlier days. Awesome story, great visuals. Finally a game that seems to have some effort and thought put into it.

Solid JRPG with some fun twists
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I will start by saying I have never played any previous Dragon Quest games prior to this release. I have several friends who rant and rave about the franchise but until this game I had yet to join in the fun. Having played 100+ hours I can honestly say that I regret not jumping into this franchise sooner. The game has a fantastic crafting system. I feel as though it is a standout feature. The character growth system is as good as it needed to be to maintain my interest and for the first 30-40 hours of the game, the challenge overall is quite low. The later half of the game has a sharp ramp in difficulty and you will likely find yourself grinding a bit more to hold your own. Story wise, I do not wish to spoil anything but let me say that I was pleased overall. Nothing too out of the ordinary sans the few plot points in which I found myself impressed with the design and forethought. The only real downside I can think of is the quality of the music in the game. Not to be confused with the songs but moreover the use of MIDI as opposed to orchestrated instruments. Given that minor flaw, I would highly recommend this game for anyone who enjoys getting a lot of bang for your buck.

A Classic Series with another great game
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dragon Quest XI is a great game. Everything you love about the Dragon Quest series made this game amazing. The graphics are great and so is the story and characters. A great JRPG for the collection
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I've put about 10 hours into the game, and I must say that the story is wonderful. The characters are well-developed and the graphics of the game are just awesome. You will love how the game plays out, and it's easy to maneuver and worth adding to your collection. Got it during the Black Friday special, so $30 was a great deal!

definitely worth checking out
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love dragon quest games, especially DQVIII when it first came out for the PlayStation 2. The graphics to detail cartoonish to anime drawing is surprisingly good. The game play is fun, the story is great, overall the characters are lovable. Would recommend to dragon quest fans of all ages. But I would wait for a sale to go on.

Great JRPG
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've loved JRPGs since I played the original Final Fantasy on NES. For the last several years there really haven't been many outstanding ones on the market. Dragon Quest VII is my favorite of all time, so I was waiting anxiously for this one. I wasn't disappointed. Has everything to keep DQ fans happy and its absolutely gorgeous.

Modern take on the classic jrpg
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you liked games in the past like final fantasy 7 through 10 and their battle system, this game is for you. The graphics are great, the gameplay is fun and there are as many side quests as you can handle. Story seems like a standard jrpg story at first but quickly makes a refreshing change to the regular formula.
