If you have played any Dragon Quest games in the past then this game will offer few if any surprises. However, it is still a well put together JRPG with absolutely beautiful visuals. If you are new to JRPGs then this game is an excellent place to get started as it will familiarize you with all of the tropes and conventions you are likely to encounter in a game of this kind. If there are any complaints to be made, the game is a bit on the easy side but there are ways to increase the difficulty via special options included in the options menu.

Wow, this game is really a knockout for the series, the graphics and voice acting are phenomenal!! The game seriously looks so great, its bright colorful and just a ton of joy to be in the world. If you're a fan of old-school JRPGs and haven't gotten this then you need too! Any RPG fan will love this game.

My expectations were very high for this game, since Dragon Quest VIII is one of my all-time favorites for the PS-2. It was a beautiful, easy-to-play but challenging game. Dragon Quest XI is all that and more! I'm no young fan boy; I'm 66 and have played video games since 1973. Few games draw me in as much as this one does. The atmosphere, the characters, the often silly-looking monsters, many side quests, the easy leveling-up and skill grid, I only stopped playing after 4 hours because I just had to eat. If it's anything like DQ-8, I'll be spending a lot of days wearing out my controller!

This is an absolutely gorgeous game with excellent music and the series' iconic creature designs, which are often quirky or humorous. There is a ton of voiced dialogue with lots of accents which lend an extra sense of character and atmosphere. Overall, an outstanding RPG and highly recommended.

The gameplay is really about as basic as it gets but if you've been hungry for a classic turn-based RPG, you can't go wrong with Dragon Quest. The graphics and animation are gorgeous, the voice acting is quite enjoyable (but maybe turn down the music.) Tons of content for your gaming dollar!

Back to the old days of turn based JRPG. The english voicing is ok, would have enjoyed original JP voice that seem to care about what is happening. Nevertheless fun game, fun skill, battle, craft systems and the story did have a couple twists I did not expect. A must have for JRPG fans.

Well known for being an awesome series of great JRPG's and artwork of Akira Toriyama, this one is the exception, so far so good, it has vivid colors, great scenarios and lovely characters, its a must have for any RPG lover.

DQ11 is one of the best JRPG’s I’ve ever played! The game looks and plays great. Enemy design is amazing! The story is fantastic and as my entry into the DQ series I was completely enthralled and entertained for over 80 hours! A must buy for any fan of of classic turn based RPG’s!

Great mix of turn based battle, with a fast paced story, and beautiful graphics. Was a little worried the game would not fair well in the current gaming era as it was a bit old school, but definitely having fun with it. Recommend to any Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest or JRPG fans.

This is a beautiful game with a wonderful OST, very easy game to play. It is a turn based game, the story is very simple too and it a very good cast of characters.

For a first time dragon quest player this was amazing I fell in love with the story and the more than 50+ hours of gameplay ended up beating the game after 80 hours just doing the story alone and fell in love with the characters definitely a great game

Dragon quest is an emblematic series, graphics are beautiful , story is great and if you are a fan of toriyama's work you will definitely enjoy the graphics. PS4 version may need some expansions but it is totally worth it at this price point

This is quite literally the perfect JRPG. It reminds me so much of The Legend of Zelda with item and treasure hunting, crafting, so many places to explore, huge amount of content, beautiful graphics. I would highly recommend if you like RPGs at all

I've been dying to play a traditional JRPG for many years. With RPGs like Mass Effect, Fallout, Skyrim, while fantastic games, I was looking for more of an old school style RPG. A formula that even my beloved Final Fantasy has turned away from. I've always wanted to play Dragon Quest but for some reason, I never got into it. Well, it seems like this one came into my life at the perfect time. It hit all the beats that I have missed from RPGs of yesterday with absolutely brilliant visuals. Akira Toriyama is the absolute MAN! I've been in love with his style for decades. This game is beautiful. It has so much character, too. Like, it's own personality and I love it. It's really serious at times but also can be very light hearted at funny. I've not completed the game yet but I am enjoying it a lot. It's just what I was looking for.

It's got everything you've come to expect from DQ. Great visuals, a massive open world, an astounding story with characters you care about. A must buy for any DQ fan, and the perfect excuse to get into the saga for those who haven't experienced it yet.

For the price I bought it at, the game is exceptional as it blends modern JRPG aspects and traditional DQ styles seamlessly. However, you'd probably be better off buying the definitive version instead for a more fulfilling gameplay since it has a significantly better soundtrack and has a number of improvements in-game along with additional content that the original would have really benefitted from.

This game brings back the roots of the days when I played many RPGS on the Ps2. It was definitely nice getting that feeling back. Graphics are amazing, story is beautiful and combat is addictive! What more can I ask for! This game is a must-get!

DQ11 is one of the best games on PS4 and easily the best JRPG for the system. It’s just a really chill, fun experience with a good level of challenge. It’s based on an old formula, yes, but has incorporated enough improvements that keep it from feeling dated or stale. It doesn’t take itself too seriously and plays well to its strengths. I wish more developers would realize this is something they all too often forget when they make huge, epic games. The graphics in DQ11 are gorgeous, too. This game is also a great value; the post game in and of itself could have been DLC but it’s included on the disc for you to play. I strongly recommend this to anyone who played vintage JRPG’s growing up, this will not disappoint. And if you’re wanting to try a game like this and haven’t done so before, this is a good place to start.

I've been playing Dragon Quest ( Dragon Warrior as it was known in my younger days) for years. This new one is just as good as the previous titles. Beautiful graphics. Great story. If you're a fan of the series or RPG's then you enjoy this game.

Ever since I found out that a new Dragon Quest game was coming to PS4, I knew I wanted it. I love role-playing games, especially the ones that have turn based combat. The game is a lot of fun, the music is fantastic, and I love the art style.
