If you like the old classic JRPG combat then this is a must. The story is good, and the graphics are good. It’s worth picking up if you’re interested in the game

Most people buying this are probably well versed in the Dragon Quest (Dragon Warrior, for the veterans ;) universe, but for those that are new to the series, this is modern, cleaned up look at a classic JRPG (Japanese Role Playing Game). Turn-based fighting, colorful, anime inspired graphics. The game can be very lengthy, can easily reach over 100 hours of gametime if you try to do most of what the game offers!!

This was my first entry in the dragon quest series and wow did it live up to the hype. Great story, characters, and combat. It looks incredible too!

Dragon Quest is one of those series that doesn't stray too far from its roots and this game is no exception. It retains its simple turn based combat, but throws in a Pep mechanic that allows your characters to sort of hulk out after taking so much damage and unlocks useful team attacks. The game is also visually striking, though regretfully the audio is very lacking (they went with a MIDI soundtrack rather than a full orchestra like DQVIII on the PS2). Still, if you enjoy classic turn based JRPG's and you don't mind the simplicity of the combat, Dragon Quest XI is an easy recommendation.

What can I say? This game makes me feel nostalgic bout days of yore when your character has amnesia and can’t talk. I love the music, graphics and gameplay.

What don't I like, the graphics, story, characters, combat are all great. If you love a good ol' turn based Japanese RPG then you will not be disappointed.

Still working my way through this since its pretty long. The gameplay is great if you're looking for an oldschool rpg. Ive never been too crazy about the music in this series so it can get a bit repetitive. I really recommend this game for hardcore rpg players. Its a lot of fun and the story is good.

Man dragon quest will never disappoint when it comes to jrpgs, great music , fun story and just the classic battle mechanics that everyone enjoys. 10/10

This takes the classic JRPG formula and updates it for modern day. The characters are all great, the combat is fast and fun and the story is engaging.

This is a gorgeous game that will capture you for hours! The lush environment, beautiful colors and amazing voice acting really brings this game to life.

I was skeptical about this game at first because jrpgs in recent years haven't been as great. Dragon quest XI is a very traditional style jrpg that does everything right. It's an excellent throwback to the golden years of the genre with a top notch turn based battle system. My only complaint would be the sometimes cringy voice acting, but it's easy to overlook when everything else is of such high quality. Much better game than FFXV as well.

I love me a great RPG, especially from SquareEnix. Very vibrant, great story, and great characters. You will not be disappointed.

I'm a huge RPG fan, but of all of the different series, Dragon Quest is my favorite. Old school, turn-based RPG with very few game-play mechanics changed since the original Nintendo days. This game is massive compared to the original games, and the environments are visually breathtaking, but the gameplay remains classic Dragon Quest. If you're looking for an old-school RPG and are tired of min/maxing your characters in Final Fantasy or other equally complicated (but still great) games, then DQ XI is a great place to sit back and just enjoy the journey!

This is a great throwback to the traditional JRPGs. Love the art style and the different places the journey takes you.

Great graphics, story line and game play. A must have for those that miss the classic turn based RPGs

While it may not break any new ground, DQ11 sets a number of high bars for the JRPG genre, especially for its great graphics, post-game content, and for simply keeping the old-school dream alive. A typical DQ story, with enough twists and turns to keep you occupied, with one or two delightfully hard to predict plot elements I quite enjoyed. It is buoyed, however, by some of the best graphics in the genre, and easily the nicest aesthetics in the series to date. Music was surprisingly lowbrow, especially from a series of games with some of the best Tunes in the history of the medium. On the flip side, character design was very nice, including some flamboyantly lovable party members you'll not soon forget. In other words, there were some ups and downs in Dragon Quest 11, but the good far outweighed the bad, and I can wholeheartedly recommend the latest installment in one of the most classic video game series in history.

If you like turn base RPG, then DQXI is a must buy. This is the best Dragon Quest game to date. Must buy for JRPG and Dragon Quest fans.

I’ve only played 30 hours in but so far this game is phenomenal. The visuals are excellent as are the voice acting. Signature DQ/DW GAME.

Great value for the amount of content. Picked this up on Black Friday for a great price. A little linear but still had a good time.

I love Dragon Quest (and jRPGs in general), ever since the days of free Nintendo Power giveaways of the first game during the NES days. Dragon Quest XI returns back to the series' single-player, turn-based gameplay roots. If you have played Dragon Quest VIII on the Playstation 2 or 3DS, you will find this installment to be just as high-quality in presentation and gameplay. However, newcomers to the series that are expecting fast action may be disappointed by the tried-and-true Dragon Quest methodical gameplay.
