We need to have 2 people hearing the same audio off a single phone (without others being subjected to it!). This fills the bill for a reasonable cost. The connector plug is the standard length, so it does not make a connection with the phone case on. Unfortunately, that's probably the situation with most connectors. I did remove 1 star because of that, though.

Bought this for my Kids to use when watching videos during long road trips so that they could hear the audio well without cranking up the car's stereo... which can be a little distracting to the driver, or someone trying to catch some zzz's! I had originally bought another brand that cost almost 5 times more... but this one went on sale soon after that for only $2.49!! So, I got this one, compared it to the more expensive one, could not hear any difference, then was able to return and get my money back for the more expensive one!!! This was almost 6 months and several road trips ago, and it's still working great! Thanks Dynex and Best Buy!!!

Very handy when 2 people are watching a movie on laptop or tablet and don't want to disturb others around. Just plug this in to the aux port and plug your headphones to each end so 2 kids can watch a movie on an airplane.
