If you require a basic power supply with lots of connections, this one will perform fine. Has performed fine without any issues since purchased. No complaints so far.

Wound up not needing the power supply, the problem with my computer was the main board. Since it was such a good price and could be used in my other computers I decided to keep it as a spare. The wattage rating is better than most OEM power supplies.

These are OK, but not very energy efficient - thus no 80+ rating. There are ample connectors, in fact maybe more than needed for a power supply in this range. I really can't imagine powering anything but a passive graphics card with this. My biggest problem with this power supply is the lack of an off/on switch. I know a lot of people wouldn't use that very often but I have a software testing suite consisting of 7 computers and I do like to switch the ones not in use off to save energy. I decided to use this for hardware testing on my work bench rather than in the PC I'd hoped to use it in, but while they're on sale for about $20 they're hard to beat.

This is a great power supply for the price. It will run most high end video cards. It is quiet and has lots of connector ports. I guess that is a good thing, however, it was a little difficult to cram all the extra wires into my Dell Inspiron tower. This would be better suited if you were building a custom PC with a large tower. Granted, it will still fit most commercial PC towers but it will be tight. The cables are of very good quality. Very durable. Overall, I would recommend this over a name-brand one. Save money on the power supply so you can get a better video card.

Ice Storms = Power Issues = 1 dead power supply. I needed to get up and running quickly. The local store had the Dynex. It had the right wattage, enough connectors and the price was competitive with online vendors. Plus I was able to drive down the road and pick it up. After installing the power supply I was surprised at how quiet it was. It was quieter than the original Rosewill that cost 2/3 more. It was a win-win.

Used this to replace an old power supply that went bad from just sitting around in a storage unit. I haven't kept up with the times and the machine uses all older eide drives so I could have used some additional 4pin connectors. This power supply just showed me it might be time to update before there are no legacy replacements left. The supply itself is well put together, the chord insulators on each connection are awesome and the fan is surprisingly quiet. A good buy.

This has worked fine so far in my multimedia quad-core system. The continuous output is less than 520 watts - that's the peak power. But it's super quiet, has lots of plugs, and the price was right.

The fan should be on the opposite side

While there are plenty of connections for every device, the fan should be located on the bottom side, not the top. Being the airflow is drawn in, and the power supply is located at the top of the tower, the casing doesn't allow a clear opening for air. I had to leave the top off the tower case. The fan is powerful, yet fairly quiet. The wires are encased. It has more wattage than I'll need. And, it is much bigger than side mounted fans. The price is reasonable. I was glad to be able to pick it up at a store instead of waiting for shipping. All in all, a great power supply.

You don't want to go too cheap on a PSU. This is kind of a sweet spot for a computer that is lightly used or just for everyday tasks.

had to upgrade my power supply due to a new graphics card requiring a larger power supply. This one was a perfect fit for the OEM power supply. Suggestion for easy replacement: do NOT disconnect existing cables from original power supply right away. Instead, remove it from the case, move to the side. Install the new power supply in the case. Then one by one, take off the current power supply cables from the peripherals (hard drive, mother board, CD-ROM, etc.), and replace them with the exact same power cord from the new power supply. There are lots of options on the cables, and it's easy to confuse them. Make sure you know how to identify the #1 pin to prevent you from installing the cable backwards. Also, make sure the power cables are pushed all the way on. If you get an error message on boot-up, it's probably because a cable isn't seated fully.

I bought this Dynex power supply to upgrade a PC that I was installing a new video card on. The video card is a NVIDIA - GeForce GTX 550 Ti and required a 400W power supply according to the Best Buy website. I purchased this Dynex 520 watt power supply and thought that should be fine. Upon installation of the power supply and video card, anytime the video would start working hard the computer would crash and go into a safe mode. The power supply just couldn't handle it. After further review of the video card's requirements I realized it could run on 400 watts but needed much more amperage. The Dynex was not up to the task. Not that there was anything wrong with the Dynex, it just didn't have the amperage I needed. That said, not many power supplies do. I had to step up and buy a Thermaltake SMART Series 850-Watt ATX Power Supply to get the amperage I needed. So the Dynex is a fine power supply. Just be sure you check your amperage requirements as well as the wattage requirements. The amperage specification isn't mentioned very often in product descriptions or specification requirements. Check with the manufacturer of your components for the exact requirements before buying a power supply. I figured it out after reading the specs on the Nvidia box. The amperage requirement was not published on the Best Buy website where I purchased the video card.

This unit replaces an Antec 380 watt unit that failed after about 10 years. It works properly and quietly. It provides a little more power than the basic system in which is is installed, but it's better to have too much than too little. The power supply was on sale or being closed out @ Best Buy for 24 dollars which was an excellent price.

This is a great product, easy to install and works great. Only problem I had was when installing this in a friends computer it had a plug that didn't fit in the computer so make sure the plugs that hook into your computer are the same for the power supply. Other wise its a great product to use.

Good all around power supply with a great selection of connectors to fit most motherboards and component configurations. I prefer a physical power switch on the back which this lacks and the price is a bit high for a 520w power supply. On the other hand it's construction is solid and the over-sized fan is quiet and appears to cool sufficiently.
