    I needed this cable because an industrial PC manufacturer sent me a new motherboard with the bios locked to digital displays only and I didn't have a monitor with DVI input available. I got this cable to convert the DVI-D output from the motherboard to HDMI so I could connect it and configure the system and it worked great.

    I needed to hook up a DVD player when somehow the original HDMI cable had developed "feet" and moved on to abetter place. I went to the local Best Buy and was directed to a good choice in cables. I found the one on sale to match my short length need and be a great buy and came back later to buy two more as spares.

    had it not been for this item i would not have been able to play or watch my Blue Ray DVD on My PC using (CyberLink Power DVD 12) had it not been t for this program i would not have known i even needed this. must say you do get a better quality picture with this. i would not just recomend it but you need it. to be able to watch any blue Ray or HD movie

    This cable does exactly what it is meant to do. My only complaint is cost. If I hadn't needed it that day I would have just purchased it online for much less. Now if only someone could figure out how to split it to use for dual monitors without them being clones!

    I asked a Best Buy clerk if they had a cable that would connect my old monitor with a DVI connection to my new Gateway's HDMI output, and he referred me to a third party online site. I found this cable on the shelf as I was leaving and gave it a try. Works fine.
