Better comparison: if the room is warm, it doesn't feel any cooler. The nigh air on the other hand, it seems the fan takes better advantage of. Still not worth the price though.

Our AM08 Air Multiplier is our newest machines that have been re-engineered to be up to 75% quieter and more energy efficient without compromising performance. The fan has re-engineered airflow paths for reduced air turbulence. This makes it quieter and more energy efficient. The machines have a number of new features such as remote control, sleep timer and improved oscillation. A high velocity jet of air exits the loop amplifier and creates an area of low pressure that draws in air from behind the fan. Our Air Multipliers do not contain Fr-ion like air conditioners for cooling. However, air is drawn in by an impeller, which is turned at high speeds by an energy-efficient, brushless DC Motor. The motor bucket has been reengineered to reduce the journey the air takes, this has resulted in the machines having a higher airflow rate and greater energy efficiency.
Dyson’s latest Air Multiplier technology is recognized by the Noise Abatement Society and awarded the Quiet Mark. The Quiet Mark draws attention to the complex nature of sound. The noise is not over powering and the amount of air that is pushed out is perfect. Plenty of power to cool off a large room when needed.

I found this on sale for half the price and used some rewards zone points. The fan works great but not worth $300- $400. If you can find one on sale at a decent price its worth the buy then
