We moved into a 3 story townhouse with our Dalmatians and bought the cordless Dyson to replace our upright. The cordless version cannot actually be cleaned. The battery life is less than stellar too. However it is easy to carry up and down 3 flights of stairs. I would not buy it again and we have owned several upright Dysons.

I can't vacuum for more than 10 minutes without it dying, and that's with a fully charged battery. I would not recommend it for someone who has a lot of vacuuming to do.

Dyson V6 cordless lasts for 20 minutes on a single charge. You may have the machine set to the max/boost mode which decreases run-time and increases suction. This mode is only for the toughest cleans. The standard suction mode will clean great and lasts much longer.

I also dislike that you have to keep pressing the button for the vacuum to work. What i do like is that the suction is very powerful. It only takes on pass on the floor and it will pick everything on its path up.

Dyson V6 is designed for a variety of quick cleanings and pick ups. Dyson V6 Trigger has a run-time enhancing trigger. Trigger grip releases instantly, meaning battery power is only used for vacuuming. Push button to select power. Provides 6 minutes of higher suction for more difficult tasks.

Short Life

It is lightweight and handled our 700sqft apartment with ease, powerful but a short 15 minute battery and very long charge time. January 2018 not three years later it has stopped working. It is rather expensive to have such a short life, I kept my receipt but don’t expect anyone to accommodate. I encourage others to purchase extended warranty if you are determined to buy this model but I wouldn’t reccomend it.

great power but can't last long

However, I still have to return it, because after full charged, it only can last 15~20 mins. then charge 3.5 hours again. Very disappointed. I think it's only for who is single and live in studio.

Not worth the money

I wanted another cordless which would last longer. Heard great things about Dyson, but not worth it. Takes close to 4 hours to charge, and works for 20 minutes. And it is hard to empty.

The battery doesnt last more than 10 mins. If you are expecting deep cleaning forget about it. This is meant for quick clean ups. A broom would give you similar results. Save your money.

Thanks for your review of your Dyson V6. You are right to note that Dyson states a 20 minute cleaning time before the battery runs out. That is because the V6 has a run time enhancing trigger – meaning that you are only using energy when you really want to be cleaning, rather than leaving it running when you’re moving furniture or moving from one room to the next. In developing the V6, Dyson engineers researched how long people like to clean, and found that the vast majority of people clean for less than 25 minutes in one session. Many people, for example those living in apartments in metropolitan areas, find 20 minutes proves to be long enough. Although if you live in a much bigger home, we would recommend that the V6 be used for in-between cleans, rather than deep whole home cleans.
Further, using a lithium ion battery pack, the V6 releases its charge evenly so there is no drop in performance. Other cordless machines may claim longer run times, but thanks to fading batteries, clogging bags and filters, they can quickly lose up to half their suction power in use.

More hype than what it's worth

It's a decent Vac, but doesn't hold a lot of dirt in the cup. Doesn't pick up cereal easily as it pushes it around the floor until the cereal breaks into littler bits, then it finally gets sucked up. Worth the hype, No.

Wish it would've done what the box said

The box showed that it can vac carpet and hard wood. I tried three different varieties of carpet in my house and it wouldn't do anything. The head would spin, stop, spin, stop as if carpet was 'too' much. High not recommended.

It charged over 8 hours and after vacuuming one room the battery ran down. I don't see the difference comparing to any other products on the market Battery life is TERRIBLE! Don't waste your money.
