Best buy for you Wii Fit WOW

I purchased this the day it came out! this game is awesome. I did the first 30 day workout and I tell you I sweat like crazy from the running, the boxing, the inline skating down to the the side lunges... You really feel the burn and the bicep curls and tricep workout does tone you up...now just looking to put a routine together.. this combined with my membership at 24 hour will help me keep off the weight! now the bad is the nunchuk you have to keep pulling it out then back in the holder.. ugh. then the leg strap you have to really fasten tight or else it will fall and loosen. Overall this is a must buy the amount of activities on top of you can actually use your balance board you cannot go wrong Good job EA and good job Best buy for carrying this item!

A Wii Workout that's very customizable!
I classify myself as a fitness enthusiast and am in pretty good shape.
Background:
I own Wii Fit. I love its stretching and balancing aspects, but cardio-wise, it misses the mark. I also own Gold's gym and LOVE it. The Wii Active feels like the offspring of these two programs.
I have done Wii Active for the past week. I can CHOOSE to work out easy one day to such an intensity that some of my muscles will quiver when I'm done the next.
Pros:
1. You can create your own workouts, including intensity and length.
2. You can skip any preprogrammed exercise. A must if something doesn't feel right that day or if you're on the mend.
3. The program encourages the value of rest days. I used to use the credo "No pain, no gain." Now in my forties, I need those rest days to heal and prevent further injury.
4. The variety of exercises is divided into 3 body improving sections--cardio, legs, and arms.
5. The Wii Balance Board is optional--it does bring balance and step value to the exercises.
Cons:
1. The resistance band is flimsy. I use my own.
2. DO NOT USE A WIRELESS NUNCHUCK! It will not work with many of the exercises.
3. Sometimes your Mii will be out of sync.
4. Sometimes you will have to redo an exercise rep because it doesn't log correctly with the Wii. Hold the remote and nunchuck perfectly, as per the video instructions, and this issue should resolve itself.
5. It's a tight fit to get the nunchuck into the pocket of the leg strap--but now I'm being picky.
Some last thoughts
I DID NOT have an issue with the leg strap falling down. I secure it over my shorts and DIRECTLY UNDER my butt cheek. It's tight but not enough to cut off circulation or be a hindrance.
Position the nunchuck facing down and to the right as the video instructs when in the leg strap.
I like the repetitive encouragement, especially when I'm getting fatigued. It lets me know I'm still doing the exercise at the appropriate intensity

Get ready to sweat

This is the best fitness game. I've also purchased the More Wii Active since I love the first one so well. I highly recommend this, it is a great workout. Prepare to sweat. The only drawback is the leg strap to hold the nunchuk during certain sequences. Putting it against your bare skin and not clothing helps some. Enclosed resistance band is not the greatest. I suggest you use or purchase your own.

I had no idea that this game, if that's what you want to call it, would be so tough (in a good way!). I am absolutely delighted that this product exceeded my expectations of how it would function. This game makes me sweat from places on my body that I didn't know had sweat glands, haha.
The running, track, and boxing exercises are what get my heart pumping to the max. I just love the variety of exercises that they offer in the game. I am doing the '30-day Challenge' right now and I just adore that each day I get to do something different in my routine (yesterday I got to dance!). I never get bored. Since the routines are so much fun I end up going through an entire workout, get to the end, but get upset that it's over. It makes me want to do more! I never thought I'd be excited to workout.
The resistance band is a great addition to game. Many have complained that the band that comes with the game is weak. I felt the same way at first but I increased it's resistance by shortening the length of the band between the two handles. Boom! Instant increase in resistance!! How hard was that to do?!!
I really do like the fact that you can also create your own custom workout. As an added cardio blast after a workout with my trainer, I created a routine that's pure running and boxing. How cool is that?
At the end of each workout session I am literally drenched in sweat. I haven't worked up a sweat like that in quite some time. I plan to recommend this game to EVERYONE I know who owns a Wii!

P.S. - To everyone complaining about the game not registering your movements, you guys must not be holding the remotes properly, seating the nunchuk in the pocket properly, wearing the leg strap at the proper height, or something. I have yet to have the trainer or game tell me that I'm not standing correctly or holding a pose well. The only time it told me to 'Stand Still' was when I reached to scratch my head in between doing lunges.
P.S.S.. - I don't understand the people who are faulting this game because of the cord on the remotes. That is not EA's fault. They created the game based off of the current way the Wii is constructed. Nintendo should be the one criticized for not making the remotes cordless. In addition, Nintendo needs to upgrade the Wii so I see my games in hi-def.

Superb - Much Better than Wii Fit

I bought this the day it came out and have not been disappointed yet. I purchased the Wii about two weeks ago as I love video games but am tired of sitting and playing them. I also wanted a good workout program as well. I originally bougth the Wii Fit however that became old very fast. In just the first week I had unlocked half the advanced options.
Fast forward to the ES Sports Active. The graphics are very high quality for a program such as this. It's really nice watching the character do exactly what you do (as well as it can.)
My one big complaint about the Wii Fit is that you have to tell it what you want to do. With the Active 30 day challenge, it sets up workout programs for you. All you have to pick is the intensity of the workout. I actually started off with easy thinking anything more would kick my butt. The easy was actually easy although I still sweated pretty heavily during it. The next time I used it I did normal. I may move up to hard/advanced to get a harder workout in.
The resistance band is actually pretty week, but it's really hard to pick a resistance for everyone to include. I think I'll just go to Walmart to get a higher resistance band for a few bucks. The nunchuck holder though is great. Very nice and acurate when doing exercises that measure that area of the body. Since I have the Wii Fit I have used the Balance Board with it as well. I believe the Balance Board is a must have for the game to add all the capabilities to it.
I truely can't think of anything bad to say about it yet. It's nice having a workout partner right there with you that does the actions with you. I felt sometimes the trainer was in the room with me. I hope they can make something like thsi again in the future after maybe I do the 30 day challenge twice and need a new 30 day challenge.

This a great game. I just got it and found it easy to get started. I loved that i really broke a sweat with this game. I am on day 6 and am feeling it all over.
I only wish that the leg strap had a way to hold onto my basket ball shorts. I switched to a more cloth like material and it hasn't been a problem. This game is great for teens and up. My 7 and 4 year old want to work out with me but the leg strap wont work for them and they are just too small. Oh well it wasn't for them anyway.

This is a great product. It gives you a good workout and a variety of options on what kind of workout you want to do. I chose the 30 day challege at a low intensity and towards the end of the workout my hamstrings were shaking, my left calve muscle was on the verge of cramping but I was so proud of myself that I wanted to have another go at it. I earned a bronze medal for the day and even passed my target for burned calories. Its very informative, motivating, and easy to learn. It even told me what to expect for the next workout that I am already looking forward to.
My only gripe is that the leg strap is tearing on the main part where the velcro is supposed to be fed through. I don't know if it was because I was wearing jean shorts but I was tightening the strap throughout my workout cause it kept slipping down and actually completely slipped off twice during my running exercise. I think if I use it again it will tear off completely and I've only used it the ONE TIME! I may be overweight but I'm not morbidly obese so I don't know if I just got a bum leg strap or what. Anyway, I can see myself trying to sew it to reinforce it or purchasing a new one after only 2 days. That sucks considering you need it for like half the exercises and what if the rest are just as poorly made?

Personal Trainer in a box-Priceless

I've had the game for two weeks and absolutely adore it. It is really good for those who have never worked out before, are getting back into working out, or are in great shape but want to do some extra work at home. The game is comprehensive-the creators understand that getting your heart rate up and then doing different isometric activities is the best way to tone up, reduce fat.
The videos are easy to follow, the personal trainer guides you through each actitivy and ensures that you do your reps correctly. It also detects your level of ability and then tailors the next day's workout based on your strengths and weaknesses (when in 30-day challenge mode).
The knee pocket holds your nunchuk and detects your movements, letting you know if you need to squat lower, move slower, etc.
It's also affordable: you don't need a Wii Fit in order to properly use this game.

It's a must have, I haven't purchased the balance board yet but i will have it by the end of the week and it has so much more to offer when use with this active, o did i mention you can have a friend come over and work out together. Get one!!!!!!! Plus I got a 10 dollar gift card with my purchase from bestbuy. Kids can use as well

I have every single fitness game that came out for the wii except Jillian Michaels fitness ultimatum because the reviews were so bad for that game. This game is the best I’ve played by far, It totally beats out the wii fit 100% I actually sweat like I’m at the gym and it picks up every hit that you make precisely I cant describe it its amazing the only bad thing is the leg strap kept slipping off during running but I think if you tighten it real good you should be able to fix this, other then that it has so many great features you will be sure to be entertained everyday playing this. It makes everything a challenge and you can have different levels of workouts so if you want it easy or hard its up to you, . Definitely worth the money so go and buy one you wont regret it.

Workout great, problem with leg band

The graphics on this game far exceed the graphics (and content) of the Jillian Michaels game. I have big thighs, product of genetics and weight, and the legband just barely fits. Hopefully after a month or two of working out with this the band will fit better. I used the easy setting and did the first day of the 30 day workout. Was sweating when it was done. I also wanted to try some of the other sports options, like dancing, volleyball and baseball. All of these were fun to try. I still have to experiment to get some longer running cardio. I have sore muscles this morning so I must have been doing something right. Will need to get the accessory pack to have a friend workout with me.

I use a fitness heart rate monitor during workouts. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the workouts are definitely substantial and duplicate sustained heart rate outputs equal to what I was doing in a gym. I will buy additional EA Active products in the future and find this to be a wonderfully easy product to use.
I would like to see hand weight add-ons to increase the upper body workouts that make is easy to hold the remotes with the added resistance. I have separately purchased more resistance bands, but if the extra resistance could be attached to "me" (my arms or wrists) movement could be smoother during the upper body workouts.

There is a lot of variety of exercises.....so it can keep you interested. And the exercises can be fun and different then just the normal aerobic work outs. I have only tried it working out w/ my spouse....but it can be really frustrating. If it doesn't p/u your movements...you don't advance on. Sometimes you have to really be dramatic and forceful w/ your movements which is unnatural in exercise. You also have to have the controller and numchuk just perfect to pick up the exercises accurately. I felt there was a lot of technical issues when working out w/ 2 people. I haven't tried it alone. I didn't find all the exercises as challenging as I had hoped...but it would be a great tool for someone who is a couch potato and wants to get moving.

I use My Fitness Coach and wanted some variety, so I got this product. Very easy to use and the exercise variety is great. Some of the arm strengthening exercises seem to have communication breakdown between the Nunchuk and remote, so the trainer either thinks you're not doing the exercise correctly or not at all. The cord connecting the Nunchuck to the remote sometimes creates a hazard for you when working out, so I'm hoping a wireless Nunchuk is in Wii's future. I would like to be able to select work out days for the 30 day challenge, since I can't make my work out on all the preselected days. Overall, great workout!

I absolutely love this fitness game! I have had the Wii Fit since it was out and never really used it that much since I had to keep going through the menus to get to the exercises. I do not have that problem with EA Active! The 30 day challenge is the best and I can really feel a difference with each day that I workout. I would recommend this to anyone with a Wii and especially if you don't like gym costs or all the eyes that watch you when you workout. Resistance band could have been made a little better, but you can pick those up anywhere! Do yourself a favor and get in shape with this fitness game. Love it!!

This "game" provides a great workout that is comparable to going to a gym and participating in an exercise class. The different combinations of exercises for each workout works muscle groups the same way a trainer would. Some days, the emphasis is on lower body, on others it is on upper body. Also, the capability of editing the workouts, even in the 30 Day Challenge gives some versatility.
The resistance band is only so-so but can be augmented by shortening it (have som slack between your feet). I've thought of getting a new resistance band for a greater workout.

This game is a great workout for me and I am 16 and my grandmother who is, with her permission, 69. It works your heart and both your upper and lower body. The best part is that you can select your own custom workouts such as boxing, etc. My grandmother does the boxing, dancing and the upper body workout. She's trying to do the lower body but knowing her she will be able to do them with no problem as she works at it. The game is very easy to follow and don't be afraid to try different things on there it is how I found the custom workouts section.

Nintendo has taken the cake with this game by far compared to the Wii fit. By incoporating a real person to show you step by step on how each movement should look. With your own personal preference on music and so many workouts with the option of a 30 day challenge you will be on your way to a healthy fit body in no time. I did have minor issues with the leg band falling but after i put on biker shorts I no longer had that issue.

This game is great! I first bought the Wii Fit Plus about a month ago and I was bored after a week and a half. This is half the price and sooo much better. About me- I am a 31 year old female that weighs 158 lbs and is in decent shape but I definitely need to lose a few pounds. I've been using Wii Active for almost 2 weeks now (on the 30 day challenge) and I can feel and slightly see a difference already, especially in my legs (all those horrible yet effective lunges, I'm guessing). I've lost 3 lbs since starting the program by combining this with healthy eating and also running for 20 minutes 3x a week. If you're contemplating buying this, definitely do it. It's fun, motivating, and effective. I look forward to using it every day. Oh, and don't worry about the balance board if you don't have one- I think the exercises are actually better without it, with the exception of the boxing which just adds some kicks which you could just do on your own (it's only about 8 forward kicks total and 8 knee raises). Best $50 I've spent in a long time!

Anybody that wants to lose weight and wants to start working out at home I highly suggest getting this game. I broke a sweat and can feel every muscle that I worked. I am starting the 30-day challenge and can't wait to see the results in 30 days. I like the fact that I can use the Wii board with it.
IF YOU WANT TO GET A GOOD WORKOUT AT HOME GET THIS GAME!!!!
