The plot details of the under-appreciated and somewhat forgotten Each Dawn I Die are really too much to get into but it can best be described as an "innocent man in prison" flick of the highest order. The film packs a lot of twists and turns into its 92 minutes as the movie speeds along with honest man James Cagney getting thrown in the slammer and trying his hardest to get out. George Raft perfectly plays a fellow inmate who may be Cagney's best hope, or worst enemy. It's a really unpredictable film that I think most vintage movie lovers will appreciate. The video and audio are spectacular (as usual with Warner Archives) and fans of tough-talking, violent prison flicks will have a lot of fun with this one.
