I think I lucked out when best buy had this for $200 each. The sound is so beautiful. It feels like you have the band singing right next to you. I paired this with the Elac 10" subwoofer and an onkyo receiver in a 2.1 configuration. Maybe a center speaker would make it even better.

there is no wow factors on these speakers. I thought because delivery dropped and left on rain damage them. But I came back to Magnolia and listen with others, same result as at home.

Warm sound, wide sound stage, paired with a pair 6.2 center and bookshelf all front the elac line and dual velodyne 12 inch subs mated to marantz 7011 avr receiver with emotiva 5 channel amplifier, have pitted them against B&W CM9 s2 definitive technology BP mains with mythos 7 center and rears also Energy CF 70's ( a klipsch brand) using vinyl all bave unique qualities, the Elac's for the price ( half off black Friday deal ) can't be beat you just have to decide bright or warm as these are warm with good midrange and a decent bottom end

Amazing Speakers

I can say I like and I’m always in the quest for high quality sound, have tried various setups over past serveral years, Wharfedale , Cambridge audio, monitor audio to name a few. I was amazed what these speakers deliver, excellent imaging, vocals and detail. Give this speaker some 20-30 hours to break in . Quick and easy way to break them in is to face speakers to each other and reverse polarity on one of them. This will allow you to drive this speakers louder and run it overnight without waking up the neighbors. You can throw on some duvet/comforter over them to more sound damping. Once they break in the speakers sound as they should, the initial harshness etc goes away. I don’t know how do they even make them at such low price. I would compare it to speakers that are in the $2000 range. Also, they shine with high quality tracks. I play tidal mqa ( master quality audio) using my blusound node 2 to my amp and they sound just awesome!!

Very Clean Precise Sound

These speakers were auditioned in store before purchase. I was comparing to Dynaudio x34s that I auditioned earlier this week. While the Dynaudio’s were clearly better speakers in all catagories, these Elac debuts were so close in sound, I was amazed. With a price that was one tenth the price of the Dynaudios (at this time on sale for $199). I found the highs to be clear, not too bright, the mids clean and precise, with the bass very tight and clean down to about 50hz. Set your crossover at 50 and let a subwoofer do the rest. I’ve found the speakers sounding even better after a break in period.

Spent many hours today listening to these against other speakers. I found them to be lacking in the top and muddy in the mids. I ended up stepping a small notch up to the definitive technologies bp9020 and found them to be a much better sound and with embedded powered subs they are way more full spectrum than the Elac, sharper across mids and highs and much better value than purchasing subs on top of towers.
