What more can be said of the pinnacle game by the From Software team. I'm a big SoulsBourne fan and Elden Ring takes the best game play mechanics from all the Souls, Bloodbourne and Sekiro games into a open world masterpiece.
I got this recently for the Xbox (I already have it for PS5 on launch day) to prepare for the DLC this month "Shadow of the Erdtree". This way my son and I can play on our respective systems. (there is no cross play for Elden Ring btw)

GET READY TO DIE!!! Fromsoft has done it with Elden Ring all over again. GOTY!!! Need I say more?
Elden Ring is a MUST PLAY for 2023! 4kHDR supported. Great title to have on Disc at a great price!

Haven't gotten that deep into this game yet and I'm having a little trouble getting started. The graphics are pretty good and I've heard it's a cool game. I guess time will tell! The price was lower at best buy than other places.

Im not a fan of Dark Souls an im not really into this. Now before the crying start understand my games I play a 110% of the time are offline story-driven action open world RPG(So stuff the go back to Fortnite/COD junk). Also I have found nothing graphically that shows "Next-gen" on XSX. No I'm not saying it's a bad looking game because it is not it's actually very beautiful. But it's nothing NEXT-LEVEL. The Story and Gameplay doesn't really pull me in nor keep me entertained. Im not a Fan of From Software an this game hasnt Changed that.

The case had a slash/cut on the front. The rear of the case was cracked/smashed. I was disappointed. The game was priced fairly. I look forward to finishing it.

I have to start by stating that this is my first time trying to tackle one of From Software's notoriously difficult titles. So how is it? In a nutshell, exceptional! Visually striking, the beautiful open world is just an absolute joy to explore and behold. That is until you get mercilessly slaughtered by by just about any living creature within proximity. The gameplay mechanics are smooth and rpg elements are deep and layered. Its a system that is easy to pick up but takes some serious dedication and hard work to master. And that really is the beauty behind the beast. At first this game is torture. You will die. A lot. A whole lot. I found myself getting frustrated and having to walk away quite often. "Thats it!", "I'm done with this crap!!". But credit to the design, somehow like an addicted masochist I kept coming back for more. Then eventually after hours of agony and suffering something just clicks. Suddenly you just get it. And after a little leveling up then this game truly starts to shine! The sense of accomplishment and joy of finally getting that mini boss back for all the beatings you took is unparalleled. The freedom of the open world is truly amazing. And that first victory pushes you to go forward to tackle that next big challenge only to get wiped out like bug and start the whole process again!! For a game to be so difficult yet so enjoyable and rewarding has to be one the greatest achievements in gaming. Never have I embraced the punishment so happily and can't wait to suffer some more. An excellent game that genuinely impressed and also feels so refreshing and different than everything thing else out there. Highly recommended!

Elden ring is a top tier game. Very deserving of its game of the year award. I spent hundreds of hours on this game and none of it felt wasted. Every minute was spent absorbing the world and honing my ability to find success against some of the most challenging encounters of any video game.
With such a large world my only criticisms involve the reuse of boss assets. Occasional bosses would just be the same as a previous boss, and sometimes early bosses would show up later as regular enemies. With the amount of enemy diversity you can’t blame them, but just something that stood out in an otherwise flawless gaming experience.
My only other criticism is that the game almost felt TOO long. At about 100 hours I thought I was close to the end and found out that I instead was only about 2/3 of the way through. It took me over a month of playing every night to get through it, which is a task in itself to just find the time.
Anyways, play this game. It has a high skill curve, which starts early, but if you stick it out you will be rewarded with a gaming experience that will be talked about for the next decade, easy.

This next entry in the notoriously difficult “From software” game developers is the most expansive and best game for newcomers and “Souls” fans alike. Keeping the general challenging theme and Noir High fantasy setting , this time with story elements added by acclaimed author George R.R. Martin this game pulls you in with intrigue , feeding small story bits at a time all the while challenging your patience and skills to progress. For newcomers the option to stray from the main path line to increase in strength and retry tough bosses later allows a lessening of the normal frustration that scares off new players. Cannot recommend this enough. Take the plunge into the world of elden ring and see if you have the determination , strength , and wits to become the next Elden Lord!

I've sank over 100 hours into this gem and I can say this is by far FS best title. Sure it gets a bit on the hard side at times and I would say even on a rare occasion not only hard but I'd say unfair, but overall the total package and what FS was able to create is beyond incredible. I don't think I've played a game with such a big open world with so much to do. Each area no matter how big or small feels so different from all the other areas in the game it's not like Skyrim where you go in a cave and it feels similar to a cave you were just in each area was uniquely created. Honestly I can't remember the last time I had THIS much fun with a game (played on a Series X).
High-quality game. Not as difficult as I thought..

Soundtrack, visuals, animation, combat, rpg elements, exploration are top notch.
The difficulty is not as bad as some say. Because if you struggle with a boss, then you can go somewhere else to find better gear/spells/skills/level up then come back to beat the boss. You can even look up guides to make an OP built to cheese some bosses.
Only downside IMO is I wish regular monster were a bit weaker since they become tedious especially if they are in a group or in a tight quarters. I stopped after 80hrs for this reason but this is a game I'll come back many times

Hailing from the Souls series, I was worried that I wouldn’t have the skill necessary to play this game. However, I decided to take the dive and I’m glad I did. This game is difficult and will absolutely challenge you, but it also allows you to progressively improve yourself. There’s even an optional tutorial dungeon in the beginning. The open world is absolutely gorgeous and is full of things to explore.
I did notice some hiccups with frame skips and blurring enemies, but that was in instances where large groups of enemies were active in combat.
For reference, I am playing on the Xbox one x.
