The Dryer install that never happened

After 4 trips to the store and 4 customer services calls, my install was done Dec. 4th and incorrectly as well. The installer called me the day before and was rude, told me to be at my house at 9am, after I was told by Edgar from customer service, that my install was scheduled for 6pm. After he left my house, I noticed the elbow on the vent was loose. It literally came off without any pressure. The installer had used a small piece of tape instead of taping the entire vent hose. I had to beg my friend who's a handyman to come to my house the next day and undo the mess that was made. The crazy part is that this install was initiated by customer service management and was free because the 2nd installer didn't complete the job and the 1st installer bent the plug of the power cord and forced it into the wall. This nightmare has been ongoing since October! The subcontracted installers that Best Buy hires are the most unprofessional and unknowledgeable people I have ever seen and dealt with. The customer service call center in the Philippines . . . just as bad if not worse! The young girl that answered my phone call split my order into 3 tickets which started the nightmare. The only good thing I can talk about are the employees at the store. Hands down, 5 stars. They worked with me and did everything they could to get my dryer to me and have it installed as soon as possible. I will be contacting their corporate offices. No customer should have to go through this . . . EVER!

Dryer installation

Tyler. the worst of the worst! BEWARE!

They couldn’t get it out of the room though the measurements fit (and it had gone into the room). They proceeded to take it apart. Tyler got angry and when I told him that it had fit, told me that”he didn’t like my attitude”. He got in the truck, left and cancelled my order without my approving that. I called Best Buy and they said that was unacceptable and would send a tech to fix the situation. A few days later I waited but no one showed. I called again. Lo and behold, some idiot booked Tyler again! But Tyler had taken it upon himself to cancel the appointment at 3:30 AM! I called again and the person wrote a report and promised that a higher up in the company would call me within 48 hours. Surprise! No call. By the way, my brother took the dryer out, no problem. And I bought a dryer elsewhere and it was installed easily. Best Buy apparently hires the incompetent and then doesn’t make things right. I have bought appliances, phones and iPads there before. Never again!

They took care with the delivery and installation and were glad to explain the operation of the dryer. My wife was very grateful!

Double check the dryer vent kit before they leave!

Ran the first load and the laundry room felt like a sauna. Pull out the dryer and lo' and behold the vent hose wasn't even attached. The dryer exhaust & wall vent are close together so had to use the elbow to redirect the hose but it wasn't secured with a clamp so either he never attached properly or it blew off easily from the air pressure of the first load. I had to fix myself. Granted install is "free" but I should NOT have to do a dang thing after spending nearly $1000 for a new dryer and the *mandatory* new power cord and *mandatory* hose vent kit (especially when my existing kit was fine). Frustrating.

Installers Damaged House; Still Fighting for Help
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The third-party company hired by Best Buy to install our washer and dryer installed the unit wrong and flooded our walls with water--spilling out into THREE ROOMS. Not only did we have to have someone come out to cut giant holes in our wall to remove damaged sheet rock, we had to have fans blowing for over two weeks to dry the wall out to prevent mold. The floor in our hallway is completely ruined from water damages and total cost is around 3500 to repair. Best Buy told me they weren't responsible and passed me off to their insurance Sedwick, who then said they weren't responsible and it was on the third party that they hired WITHOUT my permission and we're almost two months into this without anyone doing anything to fix the problem. The issues I've had dealing with the third party have been a nightmare. My last talk they told me it wasn't there responsibility to train their installers and if I choose to pursue this, it would come out of the pocket of the guys who already dont make much and she was hinting I shouldnt do that to them during this time. I expressed--it was not my problem if they were not properly insured to protect the people they hired and that they need to fix the problem created by them. Our family is expecting a baby in three months and was hoping to have repairs finished by then--at this point, I doubt that will happen. As of 7/25/20, my husband and I had to pay the $500 due to the contractor because the invoice was 6 weeks over due and we still have had no one provide us an update on coverage. I'm extremely disappointed that Best Buy has not helped us fix the situation and advocated to have the damages repaired since they were the company that we hired. They have done nothing, at one point a rep mentioned a "Make it Better" gift card, but we haven't seen anything for the headache that has been forced upon us. All we want is the damages fixed that were caused by the installation we paid to have professionally installed.
