Matt Damon is believable, as always. I liked the story even though the ending is not what I expected.

this movie was too long on earth and not enough action. looked more like a knock of halo and terminator.

The plot holes and shaky storyline cannot be ignored. I would not recommended this sci-fi movie.

I did not like this movie. It will not be staying in my collection. I like Matt Damon and I bought it because of him. I was also intrigued by the premise of the story line. The violence in the movie was way over the top.

This movie was a drag. I painted a grim hope for the future.

Did not include digital copy as advertised. This has happened with several other movies. Very annoying as they are hard to return. Money wasted. I buy the movies for the digital copy.

Typical formulaic schlock. I found the ending most disappointing, with the usual drivel about class warfare and environmental catastrophe.

South African director Neill Blomkamp's first big movie was District 9, a social commentary about South Africa. Elysium is another sci-fi thriller about Have's and Have Not's. Elysium isn't quite as subtle as District 9 but offers a good vehicle for Matt Damon to build his leading man reputation. Jodie Foster provides a chilling counter balance as the political powers that be. Blomkamp is a director to keep an eye out for whose new movie is Chappie.

I saw this in theatre and the blu doesn't dissapoint. Its great visually on disc. An okay story but an awful Jodie Foster performance and everybody else is okay. The universe Blumpkin creates is pretty cool though like all his other films. Speaking of those, this blu-ray is particularly nice because it comes with an Ultraviolet digital copy PLUS it also came with an Ultraviolet digital copy of District 9 too (which was great and unexpected).

I had high hopes for this one after really enjoying the director's previous film, District 9. Elysium continues the strong sense of world-building and great sci-fi visual design, but falters a little with a story that isn't as unique or engaging. Its themes of class struggle and economic disparity are a little too unsubtle for my taste, but the solid sci-fi visuals and well put together action scenes are a plus.

This is a pretty great film, but a little disappointing when compared to the director's first feature, District 9. Both films offer unique and impressive visuals and great acting, but Elysium is a bit lacking in the story department, taking a fairly simplistic look at class warfare.

This movie could be prophetic. It is more likely that the future will have corrupt corporations deciding who gets to go to space and who does not than any Star Trek like Federation. This move really makes you think while the storyline keeps things exciting. Had me on the edge of my seat during the movie then had me thinking about it for many hours after it was over.

I enjoyed the movie, that's why it got 4 stars. At the same time, it just felt a little lacking. I think it was a little tough to develop the story, plot, and characters in that period of time. Still a good movie, but not a great movie.

Good to fair rated Sci-Fi flick due to it's subtle political agendas but with first rate special effects and surround sound. Reference quality video and sound make this one of my go to movies to display my home theater system.
