I’ve wanted this mug for a long time. I’m one of those people who keeps traveling back to the microwave 2 or 3 times per cup of coffee. My experience so far with the ember mug is that it works, but it’s quirky. Most of the time it’s great. It’s wonderful to be able to pick up my cup of coffee 30 minutes after I’ve poured it, and have it be wonderfully hot. Problem is, this mug sometimes gets confused: The temperature will unexpectedly start dropping. Sometimes it recognizes it‘s mistake in a couple of minutes. Other times the app will say it’s 145° as it gets cooler and cooler. Sometimes that will eventually correct itself. Sometimes it won’t. So, with the mug I have, I have to use the reset button every 10 days or so for it to work. By the way, I had to replace the first ember mug I bought. It had the same behavior 50% of the time. Based on my experience, in the mixed reviews I read, there is a quality control issue. But I’m keeping the mug, after some struggle. I like the way it looks, the nice hot coffee most of the time. As others have said, a $100 mug shouldn’t act this way. But pressing a button every now and then is worth it to always have my coffee hot.

Great mug. It actually works and keeps the drink warm. You do need to charge it and also hand wash it.

This mug is a fantastic product...buying my 2nd mug. It's very well built and works great. Also love the copper color. My favorite feature is that it turns on and off automatically if it detects liquid inside. The app is a little overkill for me...I've just set my desired temperature and have never touched it since. It would be nice if it lasted a little bit longer before the battery died but that's a relatively minor concern.

Love this mug. I am a slow coffee drinker so having this mug keeps my coffee warm for quite awhile. I wish I would have gotten the 14oz. I would suggest a better manual.

This is a perfect heating mug. After helping my mom install the app on her phone/ipad she never has a cold cup of tea again.

So it works fine without the app, but the app is required to increase the temperature. The reason i returned it is because the battery only lasts an hour or so. Unless you're able to set it on the charger in between sips, it doesnt stay hot long enough in my opinion. Its probably ok at an office desk, but just isn’t practical for couch drinking. Plus, you obviously can't microwave it so we inevitably end up transferring the drink to a different cup when the nattery dies.

Lasts about 1.5 hours on a charge. Keeps it at the temp i like. Dont have to keep microwaving my coffee to keep it hot.

The Ember Smart Mug is so easy to use. So cool how it connects to your phone and you can control the temperate on your phone. Great for people who drink coffee slowly. Such a great gift idea!

We love these mugs! Use them almost daily. They have different settings for different kinds of coffee drinks. The only knock is that the battery doesn’t last long. So charge it daily.

Girlfriend has been using it every day since I purchased this for her birthday. She never finished her coffee since it got cold during her morning routine. Now this keeps her coffee warm and she can stop wasting coffee. Easy to set up with the app. Have washed it multiple times by now and still no issues with it charging or working.

The product itself is okay but I’m not really a fun of it. A little pricey but overall the quality is good. I would say go for it if you have extra dollars to spend on.

If you like for your coffee to stay hot this is the perfect cup. Love that it is like an expensive cup with its slim line design. We chose black. Totally recommend this product.

Does exactly what it claims it does. Very cool cup! Bought it for my mom. She had a bit of a learning curve using it (because she's just used to how she does things LOL) but she loves it. She does want a bigger one though. My only complaint is that the instructions are virtually non existent out of the box. You get very basic instructions and have to download an app for everything else. The app is very useful, but not everyone wants to download an app for a mug.
