It does charge, but not near as fast as the one that came in the box. Very slow. For this kind of price it should be better.

The poor quality and design has caused me to purchase a new charging base twice now and both times only latest half a year before the pins wear out and no longer charge the mug. The mug itself is of similar quality and only last about 1 year before they no long heat up. For the price, I expect much better quality and durability. Not worth the money.
