I saw "Empire Records" back in the '90s when it first came out on home video, and I loved it. It's a true cult classic! And, wow, what an amazing soundtrack! With young actors who were on the threshold of fame, with the always-enjoyable Anthony LaPaglia as their hip boss, with a clever script, and with that jaw-dropping and awesome record store (something all of us vinyl lovers sorely miss nowadays), "Empire Records" is a blast of a flick. From director Allan Moyle, who also helmed the equally classic "Pump Up the Volume."

The other reviewers are right -- the Blu-Ray really IS the original theatrical version!!! I was skeptical, but thought I'd take a chance since this was one of my favorite movies of the 1990s (and often quoted when I worked in a music store in my late teens). The remix version was just awful, so I'm quite happy to be able to enjoy this movie again! If you've been searching for the original version, here it is!

When I 1st saw this movie (back when it was 1st released), wished I could work at a record store as well. This is a very entertaining movie of young adults making messed up decisions, and managing to come together to help each other out in a fun laugh out loud fashion, plus the sound track is awesome, very happy with purchase and highly recommend.

I've looked at this movie several times while in best buy, it was a staple of my childhood. BB just never had it on the format I wanted but this time they did . However they only downside I found to this version was the music videos on the bonus features, It needs the Gin Blossom videos instead of Rex Manning

I’m almost embarrassed to say that I watched this. I remember this movie as a child; it wasn’t the worst thing out there but not much better. There’s some sort of “moral of the story” attempting to come out of it all. The best thing about it really was watching some of the more known stars interact throughout this movie.

This is a good movie to watch anytime. I watched this movie on television but figured a lot was edited out so when I found it on sale I grabbed it. Much better than the edited version.

Music is excellent if you like 90's kind of stuff - eclectic mix. This is a multi-watcher movie we watched frequently because of no cable/no smart tv in the bedroom. Recommend it definitely if you have not seen it or have not watched it for awhile. Rex Manning is the man!

Love this movie. Had it in my VHS collection (don't judge, I got it when it first came out, lol!) So I needed to get again. Not too much to get into, just a great story, excellent characters and a funny hour and a half.

Highly underrated movie about working in a record store, which I did for years! Great soundtrack too! Greg price as well. Highly recommended!!

This flick definitely transports you to a period of time. You feel like you know these people. Music/soundtrack was what made this movie. Cast was a great ensemble of who's who at the time.

The movie is funny. It isn't the funniest movie of all times but it's pretty decent. With a purchase price of $4.99 and free shipping - it's definitely worth the price and the the time to watch the movie. If you have never seen the movie then I highly recommend buying it.
